About Sharon Woodman

I am a working professional who enjoys the 'grab and go' approach for a quick getaway, whether it's with the family or a romantic escape for two.

Sharon Woodman purchased this condo in 2011

Why Sharon Woodman chose Gilford

After looking for a place that provided me with a 'resort' feel I finally came across the perfect vacation location: far enough away to rest, but close enough to drop in for a weekend. I have fallen in love with everything the property has to offer from the private beach and beautiful scenery to the all encompassing amenities at or near the resort.

What makes this condo unique

I love to start my day with breakfast on the balcony, overlooking the pool with the mountain view. During the day I will either take off on one of the local hiking trails, ride my bike, or just take it easy on the beach. I especially love the fact that I can enjoy listening to a great concert from the comfort of my balcony with a glass of wine, but have also taken advantage of the ease of the private entrance Meadowbrook Pavillion offers me to access the venue directly from my resort without the hustle and bustle of lines.

Clean and comfy!

  • 5 of 5

This was exactly what I was looking for. Granted, we didn't spend a whole lot of time at the condo, but it was a great place to rest our head between fitting in as much as we could in the lakes region. Perfect for a couple, but if you start adding other people or kids, it could get crowded. The owners kept in touch every step of the way, and there were no issues to speak of other than it can be a little noisy depending on who you have around you in the complex, but there's nothing much you can do about that! Overall great time, and would stay again for another couples getaway weekend!

Owner's Response: Thank you so very much for the review! Some concert nights can get busy. If you are looking for a quiet get away, come back in the fall. Very peaceful! Winter is also a great time to visit. Very cozy and quiet.

Beautiful condo but under construction

  • 3 of 5

We booked this condo for two weeks for a much needed vacation and Gilford is one of our favorite places to visit. We chose this location because it was so close to the lake, and because it had an indoor pool that I was looking forward to using since we knew the lake would be far to chilly to get into. We had a bit of an issue checking in due to the receptionist giving us the incorrect room number. Once we got into the correct unit, we found the place was lovely and clean and had a wonderful big garden tub with jets. We had driven from Indiana and were looking forward to two weeks of relaxation.

Unfortunately, the next morning we were confronted with loud noises from machines and workers. We soon learned that we had rented the same week the complex that had scheduled the replacing of all the trim on the building. So from 8am till 8pm for 5 and 1/2 days the condominium was not anyplace we wanted to stay and rest due to the constant hammering, sawing, and heavy machinery noises. I have pictures and video of workers on a LULL actually right in front of our balcony on the third floor. This made us very uncomfortable because we could not lock the sliding glass balcony doors, nor could I even sit on the deck to have a cup of tea. The complex seemed empty - many evenings we were the only car in the parking lot. I had asked the workers and the lady at the desk about the construction and was not even offered an apology or any type of resolution. To add to the disappointment, the indoor pool was way too cold to swim in, and the jets in the tub in the condo did not work. I still really enjoyed the tub, it was very roomy, just wish the jets worked especially since we couldn't use the pool.

The second week was much better after the workers left. It was more of what we were looking for. I am not sure if we would ever return to this location in the future - I was not impressed with the front desk staff - they were dismissive and slightly rude and I was very upset with the construction issue. I am facing some pretty serious health issues and had been looking forward to this vacation for months. I was so upset that we had to deal with so much commotion the first week we were there. It was stress we really did not need. I assume this was an issue with Misty Harbor Condominium Complex and not the individual homeowner, at least I sincerely hope we were not rented a unit that they knew would be under construction.

Easy access to the Pavilion

  • 5 of 5

Cute condo close to everything, perfect for a couple or two. Super easy access to the pavilion because it's basically the back yard! I would definitely stay again. Thank you!

We enjoyed our stay. Condo was neat and clean and very comfortable. 3rd floor was a bit challenging for us but location for concert was great.

Owner's Response: We are happy you liked our unit. I understand some are not comfortable with stairs, therefor I have included this information in the listing information. I stayed there are 2 sets of stairs. The bonus of being on the top floor is you will never having anyone above you making noise or waking you up early in the morning. I also believe there is more privacy. That is something that appeals to me. Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Sharon
