About this property

Lake Cabin at Gilmore Camps on Lake Kezar

COVID19/Health Safety: We will be disinfecting all surfaces prior to your arrival.
Your cottage sits on 2 dedicated acres making self distancing automatic. We have all lawns treated professionally in order to virtually eliminate ticks and mosquitoes.

Please visit our primary website at gilmorecampsonkezarlake. If you would like to be placed on our waiting list please contact us by email or phone. We will try to fit you in!

Located directly on the water, the Lake Cottage provides a unique lake experience. The building was moved to its current location in the 1930’s and has given generations of guests an opportunity to be “right on the water”. Relax on the screen porch and listen to the sound of the loons. Recently remodeled kitchen, bath and master bedroom make this the perfect vacation spot. Maximum sleeping capacity is 9 people.

Each of our cabins is fully equipped with all the amenities of home. The Lake Cottage has a kitchen, living area, screen porch, bathroom with shower/tub and four bedrooms. The kitchen has a full size refrigerator, microwave, gas stove/oven, toaster, coffee pot, dishes, glasses, pots & pans, silverware. We provide pillows and one blanket per bed.

Wood burning stove in the living room for cool mornings or evenings. The cabins do not have telephones or televisions. All cabins have an outside picnic table and charcoal grill.

Unplug from the hectic pace and chaos of modern life on our nine acres of beautiful waterfront property, among towering pines and manicured lawns where you and your family can slow down, have fun and build memories that will last a lifetime.

We are often asked if there is anything to do in the area. The answer of course is an emphatic “Yes!” See Area Attractions for more information. That said, most families arrive at Gilmore Camps and find so much to do on site that they don’t want to leave.

The beach is the focal point of Gilmore Camps. Large, child safe and user friendly, it’s usually the children who make friends first, followed by their parents, and by the end of the stay “5pm social hour” takes on a special meaning! Immediately adjacent to the beach, lift a canoe or kayak into the water for a tranquil ride or just sit quietly on the Adirondack chairs on the dock, keeping a lookout for a family of bald eagles nesting on the opposite shore.

For more action, play a game of pool, shoot hoops, play horseshoes or badminton and get a group together for a fun game of whiffle ball or Frisbee toss.

The entire property simply beckons you to unplug, unwind, relax and enjoy. Not a single summer goes by without a parent commenting “this is the only place in the world where I can let my kids run out the screen door and feel that they are safe”. That’s our nicest compliment.

An Amazing Week
Gilmore Camps is truly beautiful- the landscaped lawns, sandy beach and of course Kezar Lake. We had a wonderful week-long stay at the Lake Cottage where the lake was in constant view. The cabin was fantastic- much larger than expected, kitchen had all the cooking amenities needed. It is very clear that Tom and Debbie put a lot of time, effort and care into keeping the cabins and the entire camp updated. The lake was wonderful to swim in- great for the kids and just a short swim out to the floating dock for the grownups. We can’t wait to come back next year!

Favorite week of the year!
We are counting the days until our next visit! This is one of our favorite family vacations. Time to unplug and experience a true lake adventure: swimming to the dock, kayaking to our favorite ice cream shop, fishing at sunset, listening to the loons, and watching the bald eagles soar. Tom and Deb provide pristine accommodations. We never say "goodbye," for us it's "see you next year."

Exceptional Blend of Nature & Friendly Atmoshpere
If you're looking for a quiet retreat, yet with other friendly people around, you have found it at Gilmore Camps on beautiful KezarLake in southern Maine. Tom & Debbie are the ultimate hosts as they introduce you to the many amenities available. It's the attention to the small details that make such a huge difference in your stay. Whether its swimming in a pristine lake, relaxing on a beautifully maintained beachfront (while listening to the call of the loons), playing pool or horseshoes, preparing dinner on one of the provided grills or in your fully equipped kitchen, you will enjoy your stay to the max! Shopping, restaurants, hiking, golf... areall nearby. I don't know about you, but the private, outdoor warm showers give Gilmore Camps a "6-star" rating.

Spectacular Experience!
We have been coming to Gilmore Camps for 14 years. We always stay in the Lake Cottage, next to the private beach and right on beautiful Kezar Lake. We have come alone as a couple, we've come with family, we've come with friends from around the country and even around the world. All have raved about the experience. Each time we come, we're reminded of the beauty of the Kezar Lake/Lovell, ME area and the wonderful experiences on offer there. Tom and Debbie Gilmore are wonderful hosts, offering just the right balance of guest privacy and welcoming care and hospitality. The camp and all the cottages are beautifully kept, very clean, rustic but with full conveniences, all with access to the wonderful Lake and a variety of recreational activities. We can't recommend Gilmore Camps more highly, or Tom and Debbie Gilmore as hosts. For one week or longer, Gilmore Camps and Lovell, Maine is a quiet jewel that will likely draw you in as it has us.
