For the ultimate in convenience this large 5 bedroom house is located on Osborne Lane in the heart of East Hampton Village. A short stroll down the sidewalk brings you to all the variety of interests East Hampton is known for. From the windmills, art galleries, museums and theaters of Main Street to the restaurants, bars, and designer shops along Newtown Lane nothing is more than a few minutes walk out of your front door.

This 1930 traditional is tastefully furnished with a combination of period pieces and modern amenities to help transport the guests to the simpler time of small farm-based community living without sacrificing the standard of luxury for which East Hampton has become synonymous

The house has an great flow with an open sunny living room framed on one side by a large fireplace and mantle, set into the room on a bias. Past the fireplace and through a set of wide French doors, you are led to to the formal dining room, fully furnished with a fine China service for 12 should you wish to host an elegant dinner party.

The dining room opens out onto the sun-drenched back patio where you can pick some fresh growing mint for a refreshing Mojito or homemade ice tea. The patio has matched seating Too much sun? A simple flick of the switch extends a motorized electric awning to shade the whole patio and protect your delicate complexion.

The fully stocked kitchen has recently had all of the original 20th century cabinetry stripped and restored including period details such as the built-in bread drawer and a few select functional period pieces like the 1952 Sunbeam Mixmaster stand mixer and Oster beehive blender seem to make everything taste a little more like they were made with your grandmother's gentle TLC.

All of the large appliances are modern. An LG Fridge with bottom freezer rounds out the appliance package including a the top of the line Kitchen Aid dishwasher (with High Heat Sanitizing Option), a GE range with extra-low simmer burners, and high efficiency front loading washing machine.

Provided for guest use are also a dazzling array of small kitchen appliances including Juicer, Espresso Machine, Smoker, Ice Shaver, Automatic Bread Maker & Food Processor as well as Microwave and Toaster. There is even an electric food crisper for those who want to keep the snap in their chips even on the most humid days.

There is also a second refrigerator located in the back pantry & vestibule. This small room, which sits on the first floor behind the kitchen, laundry, and full bath, opens out onto the pool area and is set up to serve the pool with towel storage and outdoor serving gear & games as well as this utility fridge.

The second floor has 3 bedrooms as well as a den / sitting room. Each of the bedrooms has a queen bed, and independently controlled A/C unit. There is also a conventional ceiling fan in each bedroom for those who do not wish to use A/C or to enhance the performance of the A/C.

There is a full bath with tub on this floor with an updated marble floor and tiled shower enclosure. The upstairs sitting room is furnished in a period Art-Deco style and contains a beautiful full-sized bed as well as a reading library with a variety of art books, cook books, children's books, and books on local history and activities.

There is also a shared linen closet and stairway leading up to the finished attic which contains two more large rooms. One of the attic bedrooms has a Queen bed and the other contains two matched twin beds and has a decidedly child-friendly feel, containing several pieces of child-scale furniture including musical rocking chairs.

After bringing the kids to the children's playground in Herrick Park or playing some tennis, softball, Frisbee or soccer there yourself it is barely 5 minutes until you are cooling off in the heated pool located in the privacy of a backyard completed surrounded by groomed hedges and mature plantings. There is also a large side yard which is big enough to set up a volleyball or badminton game.

Perfect location in the heart of EH!
My friends had a lovely time staying in Sean's home. The back yard is beautiful for sitting around with friends and the house is just a stone's throw (very very walkable) from downtown east hampton. Highly recommend!

Perfect location, great for a group
We loved Sean’s house! It’s perfect for a big group, enough space in the house to spread out and work for the day but then have dinner all together in the dining room. Awesome large backyard to play games & beautiful pool. The location is perfect to walk into town for a meal, shopping or picking up from the grocery store. You can also grab the shuttle to the beach and visit nearby attractions! Our group all came from Manhattan and the train drops you about a 5 minute walk away. Huge plus!

Personable Rental
Sean is a really lovely person who did everything to make our stay comfortable. The house is certainly full of character and not a cookie cutter business rental which was lovely. It was well equipped and if anything I would say it's a little too well equipped and could use a little bit of marie condo de-clutter. The location is very good, ease of access to shops and cafes. We walked to the beach, Egypt Beach in particular was beautiful and where we saw whales up close. Pool was clean and children enjoyed splashing about. Thanks Sean

I am a film industry professional and real estate developer who has a passion for restoration, historical perspective and the tasteful details that make a Village like East Hampton keep such a sense of community. I am passionate about local food and like to garden both for the beauty and also just to get my hands dirty.

Why they chose this property

Known worldwide for it's stunning natural beauty and combination of fertile soil and seas as well as a climate tempered by both the Atlantic Ocean and Peconic Bay, the East End of Long Island is quite simply a natural paradise. The spectacular natural light that graces these shores has been bringing painters and artists here since the 19th century. The pristine white-sand beaches that were once celebrated have been one of the great cultural equalizers from the Gatsby era Wiborgs and their guests, who were the actual basis for many of F. Scott Fitzgerald's characters,

What makes this property unique

One of the greatest benefits I get when staying at this property in East Hampton is just seeing my neighbors and visitors a during my frequent walks to town which is only a few hundred yards away. I love visiting the volunteers who staff LVIS (The Ladies Village Improvement Society) and finding bargains.
