Completely remodeled in 2011, we transformed a simple ranch style into a serene Napa Valley Tuscan design home. We offer a gourmet kitchen, providing you with the ability to have delectable meals in your own backyard, The main rooms are decorated in a mustard gold with walls resembling the Italian villas in Tuscany. This theme is carried into the two bedrooms as well.. The master bedroom is done in soft cremes and rust colors accented with high gloss mahogany moldings, floors and furniture. The master bathroom also done in a romantic faux hazing of rusts and cremes accompanied by Tuscan marble design tiling, extra large glass enclosed shower and jacuzzi jet tub with french doors leading to the pool area. The second guestroom is designed in light sage and linen white, with white crown moldings, mahogany floors and white wicker furniture. The bathroom is done in mint green and white marbled tiling, large glass enclosed shower. Both rooms have walk in closets and french doors leading to the rear yard and pool area. Thruout the house are many french doors and large windows, providing views of the hillsides and vineyards around the property.
On warm days (usually 5 months per year), our courtyard patio invites you to have lunch or dinner on our teak table and chairs while listening to the babbling hillside rock waterfall or the soft music flowing thru the outside speakers. In the evening, treat yourself to a cozy fire in our antique outside wood stove in the courtyard patio, or outside living area gas firepit, roasting marshmallows for chocolate smores, along with a fine cabernet.
After busy days of wine tasting, biking or shopping in the valley, retreat to the pool area for a relaxing float in the pool chair, a nap in the oversized hammock or a massage in the bubbles of the hot tub with a glass of sparkling wine from one our renown wineries. After a fine dinner at one of our famous 5 star restaurants or possibly your own fine quisine from our gas barbecue grill, relax in our comfortable leather recliners for a viewing of the latest movies from Direct TV on our 42 in flat screen tv. Don’t forget at the end of the evening to take a moment to wander out on to the living room deck to view the stars with music in the background and of course, a nice sherry or port to finish the evening. Then it’s off to sleep in our comfy soft pillow top beds for a dreamy sleep, only to awake the next day and enjoy this wonderful Napa Valley Experience all over again.

Eric and Karen with their 2 boys, moved to Napa Valley in 1984 Living in the country in the hills of Oakville, on a 10 acre ranch. Eric enjoyed 17 years in the wine business, Karen in the medical field, and our 2 boys participated in 4H , raising animals, football and basketball. After the boys left for college, we downsized to our smaller home in the foothills of St Helena. We decided to remodel our home for our future older age and spend the next few years traveling and visiting our grandchildren and enjoying all life has to offer. We hope you will enjoy our home and the wonderful relaxing lifestyle of our Napa Valley and all its beauty.
Karen Zimmer purchased this house in 2000
Secluded on a private drive with sequoia, fir and oak trees surrounding the home, with vineyard views and yet only 5 minutes from St. Helena.. Location is in the heart of the gorgeous Napa Valley, close to restaurants & wineries, yet a hidden gem.
Close to the wineries, restaurants, views of the vineyards, privacy and total relaxation
We just stayed two nights over the weekend in this wonderful immaculate house. The owners Karen and Eric went out of their way to make sure everything was taken care. The house was in a great location and fully stocked with any and everything you need. We loved the hot tub and the sitting areas all around the house. It made it so pleasant to wake up and have a place outside to enjoy the weather and views. We will come back for sure.
EZ Ranch was the perfect spot for our family Napa trip. It is centrally located and easy to access both north and south Napa. Very convenient to St Helena for shopping and dining. The house is well stocked and VERY CLEAN! everything you need to make meals in the kitchen, and if the weather had been nicer, we would have eaten outdoors. We enjoyed champagne and charcuterie on the deck one evening and used the jacuzzi 2 nights. Every morning we would drink coffee and watch a covey of quail and one morning a mom and baby deer came to visit. The beds/linens were comfortable, the area very quiet. Karen was really easy to work with and super responsive to any email I sent her. Even though I want to keep this little gem a secret so it's always available to me...I need to share...it is the PERFECT spot! Thank you so much for making our first family trip to Napa soooo special!
This property was perfect! It was immaculately clean and had everything we needed. Exactly as described. Loved that it was out of town, but close to town. Karen is a fantastic and gracious hostess.
Tuscan country describes it well. Everything in good working order and very cute , stylish, classy, tasteful. The bathrooms are uniquely constructed/decorated, very much liked the stonework in the master bathroom. Very much appreciated having access to washer/dryer.
We used the hot tub (it really does take a day to heat up -- make sure to turn it on right away if you're hoping to use it). So relaxing. Enjoyed sipping wine and watching for falling stars in the hot tub in the evenings. Although we didn't use the outdoor fire pit or grill or swimming pool, we certainly would have if we'd been here longer.
We were here for a conference at the Culinary Institute of America - so close by (only 2 miles), and I even walked to the conference one day just for the exercise and to enjoy the warmer-than-Minnesota weather.
We were at conferences so much, that we didn't get to explore the area very much. And most of our meals were at the conference. But we had dinner one night in St Helena at Cook St Helena. Super scrumptious! I had an amazing duck dish that was runner up only to a fantastic grilled duck I used to get in Alsace, France in the 1980s. Definitely worth checking out!
Lots of wineries close by. Again, we didn't have much to explore, but did make it to V Sattui (a favorite of mine since the 1990s).
Highly highly recommend. Definitely will request to stay here again if we're in the area again.
Thank you so much Karen!!
We really enjoyed the house for a 3 day trip to the Valley. Karen was great to work with and very helpful. All I would change are the rocks on the shower floors, I would suggest guest bring flip flops to take showers as it is quite rough if you are not used to them. But the beds, kitchen, whole house was great. Even though we were there in January with a bit of rain and cool, we used the hot tub and loved it. Would definitely return again and stay here. Highly recommended.
For another couple and ourselves, this was our 6th 'Annual Napa Wine Trip' -always in September around harvest. We have never stayed in St Helena - but I will say, this location was fabulous! We could be anywhere in 10-15 minutes, and sometimes less than that.
Great accommodations and the Owner was easy to work with.....although we never had any issues.
The house is thoughtfully and thoroughly stocked and arranged to make a lovely and comfortable stay. Lots of outdoor seating arrangements -all with great views and the fire pit made for very enjoyable evenings outside with a glass of something great to sip!
Visited several good wineries: Titus, Keenan, Duckhorn, Frank Family, Failla, Pride,
Louis Martini, Frogs Leap, Pine Ridge, Robert Sinskey and even did the 'Wine Making Experience' at Raymond one afternoon - and that's a fun thing to do!
House is close and convenient to some great food as well: Au'berge, Two Birds/One Stone, Bar Terra, Cindy's Backstreet Kitchen, PRESS and you can't leave town without a stop at Gott's Road Side!!
EZ Valley Ranch ~ truly, all you need!

This was our first time to stay at this house. The house was in a fabulous location and perfect for our stay. Everything was clean and had everything you could need in a vacation home. The view was absolutely stunning. In fact, we changed up our dinner plans to enjoy the beautiful sunsets at the house. Karen was very informative, easy to work with and provided some great ideas of things to do while in town. We will definitely be staying here next time we are in town and get to enjoy the 10% discount for returning customers!
Loved this home. It was impeccably clean, decorated in a warm, heartfelt and lovely way. We didn't need anything as it had everything clean and ready. The view was amazing and especially from the pool! We loved our stay and will remember it forever, and recommend it to friends and family alike. I have to add in that Karen was so easy to communicate with and very accommodating. I suggest booking this spot before someone else does - and before we do again!! :)
