Kingfisher Bend Ranch (KBR) was established in 2001 by Ted and Charlotte Jacobsen and their family. Brian Robinson manages KBR with the help of his wife Teresa and their daughters.
KBR, with its 1,250 acres, is an ideal place for couples, families, reunions, retreats, training events and seminars. It has three guest units - the Main Lodge and two Pond Cabins. The Main Lodge has beds for twelve and each Pond Cabin has beds for four. Each unit is well equipped and tastefully decorated, so you can enjoy nature in a rustic setting without sacrificing comfort.
Activity options at KBR include guided horseback riding (free for guests), hiking, river and pond fishing, campfires, rowing or kayaking on the pond, swimming, biking, naps, and exploring. The ranch also has a basketball and pickleball court, a sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits, and a Frisbee golf course. In addition, there is much to do in the nearby Uinta Mountains, in the Wasatch-Cache National Forest and in nearby Evanston, Wyoming.
KBR is a working cattle ranch as well as a guest ranch. Livestock at the ranch includes a small herd of photogenic, long-haired, long-horned Scottish Highland cattle; saddle horses; and Black Angus beef cattle.
Once you’ve experienced KBR, you are likely to be a life-long fan. KBR is an annual pilgrimage for many. We would love to have you become part of the KBR family. Contact us soon to schedule your visit!

Peace. Quiet. Tranquility.
The ranch is family-owned. It is not a motel. It is a special place with only three units where guests can unwind, escape from city life, find solitude and rejuvenation, have special experiences, enjoy memorable encounters with 'nature', and, at the end of their stay, feel that it was a wonderful vacation.
KBR is a great place to stay and play. A quick getaway close to Salt Lake City, Park City and Ogden. We have excellent activities including horseback riding, kayaking and fishing to name a few, all included with your reservation. We're located at the base of the Uinta Mountains, where there are over 400 miles of ATV trails on thousands of acres of National Forest.
Beautiful cabins. Wildlife. Exceptional fly fishing in season. No charge for guided horseback rides. Solitude - near a highway but once you are settled in, you will feel as though the 'world' is many miles away. 1,250 acres creates an excellent world of its own. A broad array of enjoyable activities (and some excellent porches on which to sit and do nothing).
It is a bittersweet moment as we pack up and head home. We forget that a beautiful and tranquil place like this exists. Our family had a wonderful time.
Loved our stay. Horse rides were perfect and the sunsets are even better!
We had such a wonderful time at our family reunion!!! The accomodations were superb. The managers treated us like family.
When we asked for anything, the managers were both there to help us
with anything we needed. The activities were fun and we always had something to do. It was fun and relaxing.
Kingfisherbendranch was amazing! I would recommend it to any and everyone wanting to get away from the city life, and have as much or as little excitement as you want. We couldn't have asked for better managers and friends with Josh and Em. Better people don't exist in this world. There was a lot to do the whole time there, and it was very relaxing. I don't think there is a better place to spend time at a home away from home. I was and am still sad to have left such a nice, beautiful, and peaceful area.
Kingfisher Bend Ranch was perfect for our family reunion! There was plenty to do for everyone, every age; we never left the ranch for the week. Highlights were riding the horses (the scenery was incredible!), kayaking on the Bear River, swimming/kayaking/playing in the pond, playing pickleball, frisbee golf, roasting marshmallows around the campfire, and just hanging out and playing games. Josh and Emilie, the ranch managers, were great - very friendly, very accommodating. I highly recommend it!
this was a perfect fit for my siblings and me, with all our families. Each little cabin fit a 6-7 person family great. Plenty of room and kitchen needs and such. And those are located right at the pond...like a Walden Pond getaway.
The main lodge was good for our needs. We enjoyed playing pickleball and seeing the cows, cats and chickens roam around in the woods. Riding horses was nice, though we got there friday and many left monday, so there was only really saturday to ride. Overall, it had a nice relaxing feel, but with some casual activity options in case you need a little more than nature offers.
A beautiful, serene place to get away from the routines of life. A perfect place for our family group with children aged 3 and up, teens, adults and grandparents. There is lots of things for everyone to do. No need to leave the ranch, although that is an option. The lodging is clean, beautifully furnished, spacious, and well stocked with the necessities you need to live away from home. [bring your own food & towels for the pond] Riding horses, kayaking on the pond, playing in the forest, seeing wildlife, along with being around the campfire, were the most popular things with our group. However, the porches invite you to just sit and enjoy the beauties that surround you. Our favorite part was the ranch managers. They are so fun to be around. They went above and beyond to make sure everyone was able to participate, and have fun, in any of the available activities. They treated us like family. Thanks for an awesome week at the ranch! We didn't want to say good-bye! Many want to live there! We will certainly be back!!!
Fly fishing along the Bear River is excellent! The private pond is stocked with trout and available for guests to fish.
Hunting (bow and rifle) for deer, elk and moose can be arranged through the hunting company R&K Hunting. They have exclusive hunting rights on the property.
