A millions shades of green fill your eyes as they follow the gentle rise of the rolling fields, forest and streams from the generous lawns that surround Potter's House in New London.

The three-bedroom summerhouse is a perfect spot for a family gathering with a renovated farm house to yourselves. Lots of room for family activities inside and out with two living rooms, a dining room and eat-in kitchen. An acre of lawn surrounding the house provides plenty of room to make yourself at home.

Once operated as a country inn/tourist home, the house it is now available for rental by the week during the summer as a self-catering operation. Saturday is our change-over day. We rent for shorter periods in May, June, September and October.

Located in a creative village, you can stroll over to Village Pottery our family shop to visit the potters at work next door; founded by Daphne in 1973, there are now four of us in the family making pottery. You guessed it - that is how Potter's House got its name. As well you can partake in culinary adventures within the village at The Table - Culinary Studio, and explore the craft work known as Roberta Originals at the shop called Summer House.

And if you haven't worked up an appetite yet within the village there is the historic Birthplace of L.M. Montgomery, the esteemed author of the Anne of Green Gables series, which is open daily as well as Gallery 18 that offers a full line of art, antique prints and collectible books.

Did someone mention food? You might consider slipping into the Bluewinds Tea Room for a refreshing break or a full meal. As well Sou'West Bar & Grill is an excellent seafood restaurant located on the New London harbour wharf. Located at the point the South West River meets New London Bay their name is a play on the location name, as well as a tip of the hat to their wide ranging culinary style. Their deck on the edge of the bay is a favourite destination.

Potter's House is fully licensed and inspected by the provincial government as a vacation rental property.

Please note ---- VRBO converts Canadian prices into US dollars and that is what displays as our daily rates on this website. The actual rates charged are in Canadian dollars and these are our off-season rate in May & June and in Sept & Oct which is $150 nightly plus tax, while the rate in July & August is $170 nightly plus tax. All taxes are harmonized on PEI and are 15%.

Notes:
Designed for groups or families who enjoy the self-catering approach to travel, the house is equipped to handle meal preparation and has lots of room to relax both inside and out. Once operated as a small country inn, it was renovated into a summerhouse with lots of room for family groups or couples looking for privacy, but close to all the advantages of the resort communities nearby. Minutes from public beaches and the PEI National Park at Cavendish provides a great base for activities in the whole coastal area, yet removed from the commercial district at the edge of the park.
