About Linda O'Leary and T.R. Lawrence
We originally saw the homes while on a buying trip to Indonesia, and decided that we would develop this property in the middle of a jungle reserve. My husband is a surfer, so we had traveled to Sayulita in the past. This was a 3 year intense project, of building roads, drilling wells, installing underground electricity plus building the 12 homes, as each house has a large house and a smaller guest house.
Linda O'Leary and T.R. Lawrence purchased this House in 2008
Why Linda O'Leary and T.R. Lawrence chose Sayulita
What do I Love? Everything---I love waking up to the sound of the parrots!. I love living in 100+ year old home, hand carved with teak wood. I love being able to go to our semi private beach nearby on the jungle path and be the only person there. I love to drive into town and enjoy the action of Sayulita with the great restaurants and strolling musicians, and then escape back to this tranquil jungle paradise. I love to walk under the jungle canopy and take a yoga class in the morning for my daily exercise.
What makes this House unique
The tranquility and the sights of the environment. The town can be noisy, and this is an oasis not too far away.

Jungle boogie
This quaint little jungle hut was well worth the money. Having a low tech stay by the beautiful beach town of Sayulita was the perfect getaway. The bugs were the only downside for us and they weren’t even that bad. Thumbs up!
Peaceful, quaint cabin in the jungle
We had the best week here in Sayulita! We loved being a little bit out of town and enjoyed the 30 minute walk into the main centre or the 10 minute walk to a private beach close by. It was very comfortable and perfect for a weeks stay!
Felt like the Garden of Eden
Great hosts, felt like it was an amazing hideaway, even though there were other properties around. Your view off the veranda is of jungle flora and fauna and is a birder's delight. It is a short walk to an almost private beach.
Tranquility and Beauty
The Villa is a quirky jungle home, an (imported) Indonesian antique cabin with lots of carved wood and charm. The balcony overlooks deep tangled trees and vines full of birds and other creatures you hear stirring the night. We found the hike to the beach easy but the return a bit much with the steep hills on the property but we are seniors and are bound to feel it. Beach itself is fabulous. Owners are friendly and helpful. Best if you have a car rented or ask how to get reliable taxi service. We did a bit of both. Great spot.
A True Getaway
Fantastic location and experience! We really enjoyed our time here.
Beautiful and romantic jungle villa by the beach
Our stay at Villa Bali was perfect from beginning to end. The house we stayed in was charismatic and quaint, the woodwork and jungle setting made us fall in love with it immediately. Villa Bali was quite and just the right distance from town to give us the seclusion we needed and was still convienent to access all the restaurants and shops in town. The owners took great care of us and we can't wait to return.
