About this property

Private and quiet setting ~ Pond and stream ~ Check us out! Look us up! Relax!

Relax. Refresh. Reconnect ~~
We welcome you to Clover's Cottage, where you can relax, refresh, and reconnect with those you love. Located on more than four quiet acres in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, Clover's Cottage is available to rent – for two nights or many nights – you decide how much peaceful respite you are seeking.

We have been creating happy travelers since 2012. We have years of positive reviews that we can make available to you from all our various booking locations.

Please explore the beauty and simple fun that can be found at our bit of heaven on earth. We have provided you information about all of our amenities, photographs of the property, area attractions and more.

We hope you will plan your next vacation with us.

Please note that in addition to electronically accepting the terms of our listing, guests are required to digitally sign our rental agreement along with providing an emailed or texted copy of the primary guests' government-issued photo ID.

-----------------------------------------------
Some important policies and information for our guests:

PROPERTY DAMAGE WAIVER/SECURITY DEPOSIT - When you book a stay with us, you are automatically covered by up to $500 in accidental property damage. It is a waiver that we include in the cost of every reservation. Please read the rental agreement carefully to understand how our Property Damage Waiver and Refundable Security Deposit can provide peace of mind.

Traveler's Insurance: As we always remind our guests, if you haven't already chosen to do so, please consider the purchase of traveler's insurance. We would not want you to lose out on your vacation costs due to unforeseen circumstances. Make sure your policy covers you for the issues that concern you the most (You can purchase traveler's insurance from many locations. It is not required to be purchased thru this site).

OPTIONAL LINEN SERVICE - While it has always been customary in the region and at our property to not provide linens in vacation rentals, due to COVID-19, we have also removed all bed comforters, blankets and decorative pillows. Guests are welcome to bring their own blankets, comforters, bed linens, bath linens and kitchen linens or rent them through a linen service. Please see the details in our rental agreement and notify us if you would like to add this optional service.

Strong Reviews: We have been creating happy travelers since 2012 and have two properties. Our other property, Dreams Come True Cottage has been available to guests since 2015. We have years of positive reviews on this site and several other listing locations. Reach out to us and we would be happy share our reviews from all our booking locations.

MAINTENANCE - Occasionally, regular maintenance such as lawn mowing, trash day (Tuesdays) or unexpected repairs are necessary to be completed during a guest's stay. While we try to perform all work when no guests are onsite, it is sometimes necessary when there are back-to-back reservations, previously scheduled work or weather that prevents work at another time. We will always let guests know when this is required and will do our best to not be disruptive.

WASTE WATER CONSERVATION - Clover's Cottage relies upon a 1000 gallon tank and drain field for septic. It is emptied by a local septic company as it fills to capacity. Therefore, waste water conservation is important to make every guest's stay more enjoyable and to avoid visits by the service company during a guest's stay. Guests are reminded to avoid flushing the toilet after every use, avoid long showers and to use the clothes washing machine and dishwasher only with full loads. Additionally, guests should turn the water faucets off while brushing teeth or while hand washing dishes. If your reservation has a large number of guests or you have an extended stay, we will check the level of the tank periodically (outside on the property). Each reservation includes the cost of emptying the tank upon check-out for any stay of a week or longer. Any additional/necessary septic tank service is at the cost of the guest (a pass-thru cost of $225).

As an experienced landlord, Clover's Cottage is a vacation property that we couldn't resist sharing with others. Owners Tina and Andrew Schmidt welcome you. Relax. Refresh. Reconnect. If you like what you see here in the country, you're going to love our beach house by the bay - search for Dreams Come True Cottage at 414 Fern Road, Villas/Cape May Beach, NJ

Why they chose this property

From the moment you come down the lane to Clover’s Cottage, you will begin to breathe more gently, slow your heart rate and remove yourself fully from the hustle and bustle of your daily life. As you walk down the sidewalk to the cottage, you may notice the covered front porch swing, the picnic table where you'll enjoy an evening dinner or the open campfire and comfy chairs for storytelling and s'mores. A closer look may reveal the original working hand well pump where children can have hours of fun. A small dock makes fishing easy and a supply of firewood awaits you in the wood shed ($).

This is only the beginning of what Clover's Cottage has to offer. There are quiet walks down the path to Pine Creek, where you can swim or float, or you can stick closer to home and listen to nature babble in the little brook right outside the front door. There is a canoe to float on the small pond or a covered footbridge to explore the nearby woods to search for signs of deer, turkeys and other hidden animals. You may hear the sounds of goats or see some peacocks that wander to the property from the neighboring farm. Pick some blueberries or wild raspberries for your breakfast cereal or take a walk down some of the many miles of country roads that surround the property.

Clover’s Cottage was converted from an old flax mill built sometime around 1887 and sits along a stream and pond. The first floor boasts a cozy and well equipped eat-in kitchen, a laundry room and a convenient half bathroom. There is also a comfortable and rustic living room with a wood fireplace built from old reclaimed schoolhouse bricks. Because of its origin, the first floor is built from local field stones and has 18' thick walls (no need for air conditioning!) and a counter made from a huge cast metal slab from the original flax grinding equipment.

What makes this property unique

The second floor opens to a small sitting room surrounded by three bedrooms. Each room is decorated in warm earthy tones and local antiques that evoke country charm and a restful atmosphere.

The sitting room has original wide plank floors and is a great place for you to sit and enjoy a book or watch a movie. The small love seat can convert to a twin foam bed. A screened sliding door opens to an expansive deck that overlooks the stocked pond. The outdoor deck is 10' X 36' and includes outdoor seating and a small bar.

The luxurious and spacious Jack-and-Jill bathroom is nestled BETWEEN two bedrooms, a layout which is typical of homes of this age (Note that you must go through a bedroom to gain access to the bathroom). It evokes a feeling of a country spa, with a beautifully restored claw foot soaking tub that allows for complete relaxation. There is also a walk-in shower large enough for two, with a bench and rain shower head. The bathroom is fully tiled the best of modern day comforts with timeless rustic treasures.

The large master bedroom offers a queen bed, dresser and closet, as well as a day bed that can be utilized for lounging or sleeping. A large table at one end of the room will allow you to enjoy card games, crafts or conversation with family and friends. There is an exterior door in this bedroom that will offer a rear exit from the cottage or entrance to the deck.

The second bedroom has a double bed with a dresser and nightstand and original wide plank floors. This room also has a closet and entrance to the bathroom.

The third bedroom has a set of bunk beds with twin mattresses, a dresser, entrance to the bathroom and original wide plank floors.
