HOME DETAILS // Large, beautifully decorated, refurbished (from 2010 - 2016) Carnelian Bay home. Sleeps maximum of 10 in 3 private bedrooms and fully-furnished loft. 3 full bathrooms. All new furnishings, paint and wood flooring. Chef style kitchen with Granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. Large hot tub and fire pit on the deck.

LOCATION // Great access to Tahoe's largest network of hiking and mountain biking trails directly behind the house. Great for snow-shoeing in winter. Short 10 minute walk to private beach and pier. Kayak and Paddleboards available. Easy winter access to skiing at Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows and Northstar (all 15 minutes). Local property manager for any issues that may arise. We accept all credit cards.

BEDROOMS // Two king bedrooms, one queen, loft room sleeps 4 (with one bunk bed and two extra-long twins.) All beds include Tempur-pedic mattresses, hotel-quality bed linens with goose-down comforters, white freshly laundered duvet covers, plus cotton blankets for warmer summer nights. Down, solid foam and Tempur-pedic pillows available. Thick cotton bath towels provided, along with beach towels for use at the lake. Private TVs with cable in master bedroom and loft space.

KITCHEN // The kitchen is chef-ready, including a large wood center-island with sink for food prep. Stainless steel pots and pans, sharpened Henckels knives, Nespresso Machine, Dual Oven, 5 burner range, fully stocked with appliances and chef's tools

BATHROOMS // 3 full bathrooms with luxury Theorie shower amenities. All fully tiled with glass showers. Jetted Jacuzzi tub in master bedroom.

LIVING ROOM // Large leather seating, stone fireplace, reading corner, hardwood floors, Persian rugs, HDTV with Apple TV, Cable, BlueRay, Nintendo Wii.

DINING ROOM // Table seats 10. 2 expandable table leafs available. Servingware, table linens, cloth napkins, centerpieces, perfect for group dinners

DECK // wrap-around deck rebuilt in 2015 that gets summer sun from 7am til 7pm. Summer deck furniture with seating for 10 at two tables, two wooden porch rockers plus four upholstered chairs, cocktail table, two chase lounge chairs and fire pit.

Winter chairs stored in the garage for the deck or fire pit. Regular snow shoveling of the deck provided. Fire pit is perfect for hot chocolate and s'mores in winter. Propane grill available year round on the deck. Heater lamp available for use.

HOT TUB // Large hot tub seats seven. Located directly on the deck.

OFFICE // quiet desk area, hi speed WiFi, land line phone, fax, printer, scanner.

FRONT YARD // Large front yard for kids to play in with provided games stored in the garage: horseshoes, bocce ball, corn hole, whiffle ball, football, smashball

Snowshoes and sleds provided in the winter. Great flat yard for building snow men and snowball fights. Ample ski and snowboard storage on racks in garage.

HIKING AND BIKING TRAILS // Hiking and biking trails just across the street from the house lead into the Tahoe National Forest with hundreds of square miles to explore. Ride mountain bikes or hike on trails to Northstar ski area or Tahoe City. Whether you like to walk on quiet roads or hike in the forest, this is a hiker's paradise. Snowmobile trails also start just up the street. Great for snow-shoeing in the winter (provided in garage).

BOATING // You can keep the boat on a trailer parked off the street; launch only ten minutes away at public ramp. From that ramp you travel only five minutes on the lake to reach the private pier for the homeowners association. You can tie up there to take on passengers (no overnight docking) or to barbecue in the picnic area. We are able to bring our 23' boat on a trailer to the property.

LAKE ACCESS // Dock keys available to private homeowner's association beach and dock. One mile from the house (10 minutes downhill walk.) Parking available outside the gate and along the road. Beautiful in both winter and summer.

PET FRIENDLY // Most dogs are welcome (no puppies). Doggie door leads to deck. Gates provided to keep dog on the deck. There is an additional charge as we clean carpets after every dog visit. Bring your dog bed or use ours; dog bowls provided.

LOCAL AREA // 15 minute drive to Squaw or Northstar Resorts. Garwoods, CB Pizza, 7-11 are less than a 2 minute drive. Tahoe City and Kings Beach are less than 10 minutes with grocery stores, shopping and restaurants.

Our family lives in San Diego and San Francisco. We've stayed at a hundred rental condos and houses while skiing, boating and travelling. Mostly, we've been disappointed. We've furnished and outfitted this house to meet our own demanding expectations. We spend a lot of time here, so we maintain it to our high standards.

Why Richard Neubauer chose Cedar Flat

Carnelian Bay is among the most convenient places on the lake, whether you fly into Reno (1 hour 15 minutes) or drive up from San Francisco (3 hours 30 minutes). The house is in a quiet location away from the busy, noisy highway around the lake, but when you're ready to go out for dinner or cocktails, there are many fine choices nearby. Grocery stores and other shops are ten minutes away. Before purchasing this home we vacationed at Tahoe for years, staying at the Tahoe Keys in South Lake Tahoe, Incline Village in Nevada, Alpine Meadows on the Truckee River, and Homewood on the West Shore. This feels the best to us. The access to the hiking trails is a huge benefit in all seasons.

What makes this house unique

Completely refurbished with high-end decor. Large corner lot, heavily wooded with a big front yard. Located on a private road in a private community, traffic is very light and children can safely play in the yard while you sit and watch from the deck. In late spring and early summer you'll hear the nearby creek running down to the lake. You can walk the quiet, winding streets or hike in the adjacent National Forest land. There is no retail or commercial activity in this upscale 'Old Tahoe' neighborhood.

Phenomenal property

Our stay was wonderful. Starting with our interactions with the owner, everything was organized, professional and easy. The house was well stocked and beautiful. The location was perfect for with access to the lake and ease to get to ski slopes.

I would recommend this house and plan to rent again in the future.

Beautiful house

Lovely home to share with our family. Three bedrooms and a loft with four beds was perfect our family of nine. The kitchen was fully stocked with appliances and serving dishes. It was a pleasure to cook for the family there while they enjoyed the local ski resorts or sledding slopes. The deck and hot tub were great even in the winter cold. The backyard was perfect for building a snowman. We could watch it change with the weather from our warm leather chairs by the fire. Watching snow fall on the skylights was also very beautiful. This was a great winter vacation spot, with plenty of room to park our three cars away from the plowed streets, but I could see how this would also be a great summer spot so may consider this house again for a summer Tahoe trip.

An amazing wintertime getaway!

My family and I have an amazing several days at this Home. Tucked away in North Lake Tahoe, we weren’t sure what to expect as we’d never stayed in this area before (we’ve always been in South Lake previously) but I have to say, i will have to come back here again and again. The home was beautiful, comfortable and cozy. The kitchen was well stocked. And entertainment opportunities galore. Richard was very easy to contact and provided all the necessary information. Loved it! And will certainly come back again!

Amazing home!

This house provided the perfect home base for our North Tahoe stay. We had seven adults and a baby, and there was plenty of space and seating for all of us. The decor was just as cool as it looked in the photos! Beds were comfortable and the entire house is updated. The owners were always quick to respond to any inquiries. I’ve done many vacation rentals and have never felt compelled to leave a review until now. Stay here if you’s amazing!

Richard's home is better than advertised. Beautiful, comfortable and unbelievable well stocked. If you love to cook you literally don't need to bring anything but your food. This was comfortable for 3 families with small children. No doubt about it, we'll stay again.

The house is even more lovely than the photos with a strong theme of bears everywhere. Furniture, house, amenities are all first rate and guests are welcome to use them all. Incredibly comfortable beds, linens, furniture, kitchenware. Our birthday celebration with kids and grandkids was totally memorable, and we pan to be back next year, same time. Thank you Neubauer family!

Walk across the street to miles of wilderness hiking/biking trails on National Forest Service land, or walk through an Old Tahoe neighborhood on quiet streets. Bike or walk 10 minutes (downhill) to private, gated, association beach with a large pier for sunbathing, swimming and boating. Picnic tables and grill overlook the lake. Large, sandy public beaches nearby. Private beach is dog friendly in early morning and late afternoon. Public dog beaches are nearby. Only 10 minute drive to over 40 restaurants in Tahoe City, Tahoe Vista and Kings Beach. You will also find boat rentals, tour boats, sailing cruises and para-sailing boats in these nearby community centers. In early winter, ski at Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows or Northstar, all within a 25 minute drive.
