About this property

Peaceful Farmhouse Retreat Frankfort, Kentucky

The Crockett House is less than ten minutes from downtown Frankfort, many restaurants and several shopping centers. It is five minutes from I-64 and makes a perfect rendezvous spot for family or friends. Surrounded by 43 acres of pasture and woodlands, the property makes a peaceful retreat. From the large screen porch, one can listen to nearby Armstrong Creek and watch deer and turkey move in and out of the woods. Parts of the two-story frontier home were built in 1825. It retains much of its original woodwork, including the staircase and board and batten doors. The entire house was tastefully remodeled in 2008.

Nice place that met our needs
Historic home that proved suitable to our group of 7. We didn't do any cooking so we can't comment on the kitchen equipment, but has ample space and met our needs for the week.

Nice property with a great location
The location is great - easy to get to and easy drive to many attractions. The property was lovely and the kids enjoyed the area by the creek. The house layout was nice and the owners responded quickly to questions. Marked down cleanliness because there were a lot of dead bugs (flies and ladybugs) under furniture and in the bathroom. Also for those with little kids the house is creaky and the latches are noisy which is challenging after you put them to bed. We had a nice visit!

We are a retired teacher and mental health professional. We bought the Crockett House and farm at auction. We lovingly remodeled the house and planted a vineyard in 2008. September has been harvest time. We had to remove most of the vineyard in March of 2021 so there are only three rows of vines now. The gazebo continues to be a great place to view sunsets.

Why they chose this property

The farm is such a beautiful spot. We enjoy it ourselves and love making it available for others to enjoy.

What makes this property unique

The outside world seems far removed as you drive down the lane to the farmhouse. Deer are frequent visitors in the evening and sometimes a flock of turkeys can be seen walking by the creek.
