Impeccably maintained & stocked with all the perks. This home sits on a large corner lot (130' x 105') adjacent to a 50' easement which offers great views & access to both Gulf & Sound. There is a sidewalk & boardwalk that deliver you the very short distance (approx. 100') to the emerald waters & sugary white sand of the Gulf.

The family area is accented by bamboo flooring, granite counters, plantation shutters, vaulted ceiling & a large flatscreen wall mount television. There is meal seating for 15 including both dining table & breakfast bar.

Stepping through the french doors from the family room onto the large balcony outside you are immediately wowed by the main attraction of this home. The large gunite saltwater pool allows enjoyment for all ages. There is a spacious 1' landing perfect for the toddles to play, two in pool staircases providing easy entry, bench seating as well as the swim-up bar provides multiple seating areas. Jump out of the pool and enjoy a game of volleyball or badminton on the grass court, or try your hand at horseshoes. Sunbathe on the pool deck, gaze out at the ocean views from the upper deck, or take shelter from the sun on the lower shaded patio which is great for hiding from the sun and playing in the sand with bucket and shovel in hand. This is also the spot to fire up the charcoal grill for the family cookout, which is adjacent to the homes additional recreation space with ping pong table.

Great Pool & Location, property needs TLC
Overall it was a decent stay considering the price. The heated pool was fantastic and the location to public beach access was great. Very short easy walk to the beach even with kids and beach bags. The neighborhood was fairly quiet and felt safe. The house has taken a bit of wear and tear over the years and does need some TLC and a deep clean. Pictures of the property are dated. Aslo we did not realize the bedrooms on the lower level can only be accessed from outside, so we had to rethink our sleeping arrangements with the younger children but in the end it worked out for our 3 families each with one kid.

Overall impression is it certainly served the needs of two families. Pool was a hit. Poolside and deck was also nice and sunny. Ping pong, pool volleyball and horseshoes was popular. Master bedroom had no remote to tv. Yard volleyball net should be redone. Didn’t bother using. Definitely upkeep, but we all enjoyed ourselves!!

The host was helpful and quick to respond to questions. The location was great, just a short walk to the beach. The heated pool was a huge hit!

Gumbo Bungalow was fantastic - exactly what my family needed for Christmas!
Three days of family fun - definitely not enough time! Gumbo Bungalow was clean, comfy, and cozy and we hope to stay there again soon!

Why they chose this property

Gumbo Bungalow is the perfect mix of Beach Life and quiet neighborhood that is simply hard to find along the Gulf of Mexico and it's amazing beaches. No busy hotel or hi-rise condo traffic along this stretch of beach. And Gumbo Bungalow is adjacent to a public easement allowing such easy access directly to the beach and over the sand dune that isn't found many places along Pensacola Beach.

What makes this property unique

An amazing backyard of family activities for those of all ages. A large gunite saltwater pool with toddler area, bench seating along the edges and the same depth at both ends provides the perfect opportunity for a game of volleyball the entire family can enjoy. The horseshoes alley as well as a grass Volleyball/Badminton court provide entertainment for the teens. There are decks to lounge and view the ocean, those around the pool for basking in the sun, and a lower patio for the ages who wish to hide from those bright Florida rays. On the patio is a recreation area with Ping Pong table and a variety of sand and pool toys. You will be amazed at how often you actually forget to make that easy jaunt to the beach because of all the fun to be had at the house. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE DO NOT CHARGE EXTRA TO HEAT THE POOL, BUT WE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO HEAT THE POOL DURING JANUARY & FEBRUARY.
