About this property

Napa Valley - Spectacular Wine Country Cottage in Vineyard

Our gated property in Calistoga includes 40 acres of undeveloped natural and wild beauty. There is a lot of history surrounding this property that we are proud to continue and share with our guests. The gardens and landscaping are spectacular and a perfect backdrop to our quaint rental cottage. We are surrounded by one of Calistoga’s amazing vineyards, Jericho Canyon and our own vineyards at Jericho Ridge. It is quiet and remote – while being within 3 ½ miles of the center of downtown: a perfect balance.
Calistoga's small town ambiance, coupled with sophisticated dining, spa adventures and shopping, make it a favorite of many wine country visitors. Underground thermal features give rise to natural hot springs. Jericho Ridge is approximately 3 miles from Chateau Montelena – the vineyard that inspired the birth of Napa Valley – as depicted in the movie “Bottle Shock.”

We're proud that Calistoga was named one of the United States' Top Ten destinations for relaxation and spa TRAVELERS CHOICE DESTINATIONS AWARDS. Calistoga is also an official Napa Valley AVA (American Viticultural Area).

We look forward to having you visit our piece of Paradise. Our county does not allow short-term rentals so we currently rent for a minimum of 30 days.

Note: We do not take wire transfers so please do not wire any money. We do require a separate written lease (which mirrors this VRBO agreement) prior to received access information.

Ants in house
The house was fine, needs a refresh/deep clean. There were ants all over the kitchen, bathroom, and some on bedroom wall. The owners are very sweet people though.

About the host

We live between our home on Tilghman Island, Maryland and Calistoga. We were visiting dear friends in Calistoga during Thanksgiving, 2010 when we fell in love with the Jericho Canyon and knew we wanted to live there one day. When our property came onto the market a week later, it was destiny. We have spent a decade developing our vineyard property and are happy and excited to share our Paradise with you. Please enjoy it as we do! Jacque and Patrick

Why they chose this property

Calistoga is an easy trip in from either Oakland, Sacramento or San Francisco airport. The Santa Rosa airport is 30 minutes away if you are fortunate enough to fly there. WE are in the north end of the valley across the ridge from Santa Rosa (15 miles) therefore you can avoid the Napa Valley traffic until you are ready for great wine tasting and the beautiful Napa experience. We enjoy cycling through the valley and love the Silverado Trail. Our cottage has large windows throughout and ceiling fans in every room - so we generally leave everything open and live as close to nature as possible. The weather is warm in the day and cool in the evening, most of the year. After a lovely day full of wine tasting, spa experiences, hiking or cycling and outstanding meals, we love to either relax at our retreat with a glass of wine and watch the colors of the sunset on the Palisades.

What makes this property unique

Our property is 3 1/2 miles from downtown Calistoga but is quite remote in the hills of Jericho Canyon. The landscaping was developed by the previous owners who are extraordinary botanical gardeners - and the gardens are exceptional. The hiking trails on our property seem to go forever - of course there is lots of wildlife in the hills so you need to be cautious. Our small vineyard adds a fun dimension to the view. Our home is perfect for those who love the outdoors - and all that nature can provide. Please note that the Valley is unique in that it can be extremely hot during the day and even cold at night. It is usually dry but there are unexpected rainy times. Please be ready to experience incredible nature - at its best.
