About this property

Hoot Owl Hollow-easy access and a great view!

Hoot Owl Hollow is a charming mountain chalet located very close to downtown. Great mountain views and easy access- located just off the main artery coming into town (a 2-lane road). The home is screened from the road with a wooden privacy fence which affords complete privacy. This home is on three levels. On the "walk-in" level there is one bedroom (Queen), one full bath, wet bar area, galley kitchen, living room with CATV and wood-burning fireplace, and a great wrap-around deck. The upper level has an open/loft-style bedroom (regular stairs) with two twins and a half bath. There is a screened door leading out to a small balcony to allow for great breezes when weather permits. The lower level has a full bath, laundry room, and larger bedroom (King bed), with a small private deck. There are ceiling fans in each room. This home has wood floors on the main level.

New HVAC (2023) and there are ceiling fans in all bedrooms and living areas. Most people find that air-conditioning isn't necessary in Highlands. Try this home and you will be a repeat guest. Hard to find a home with a mountain view, so close to town at this price.

This home has a two-night minimum, except for HOLIDAYS AND SOME LOCAL EVENTS, which may be a SEVEN-NIGHT MINIMUM
The rental app you are using may allow you to make two or three-night rentals during these times, but that doesn't mean the reservation will be honored.

Hoot Owl Review
Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Unfortunately, we were disappointed in the property. My crew commented that there was a terrible odor in the home that did not go away. There was garbage left on the property, even though there were notes to my crew to make sure garbages were emptied, the garbage service refused to empty the garbage can as they were not bear proof. The upstairs bathroom toilet was leaking also.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Cleanliness
Not cleaned properly
We found dead chipmunks in one of the beds. Thankfully, there is a rental management company that moved us to another property. The property would have been fine with a deep deep clean.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
The cabin is cute and has wonderful outdoor spaces and great views. Inside it is rustic and quirky. However, the main issue we had was that it was very musty throughout. Even opening windows etc. didn't help. Otherwise, the location was just as advertised.

Hoot Owl Hollow - NOISY
Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very unhappy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The high wall was built to shut out the traffic noise - didn't help! very BUSY ROAD! Cabin basement level was cold and very damp - bedding was wet & mildewed. It was convenient to downtown and was cosy - view not so good as trees blocked view of the mountains.
