Eastward on the Ocean- oceanfront condo on scenic Penobscot Bay

Our HOA requires a 30 night minimum stay. Our home is in a development called "EASTWARD ON THE OCEAN", which is the most beautiful neighborhood on the Maine Coast. If you are looking for a perfect getaway, this is it! Our location in Rockport, Maine is where the mountains meet the sea. The views are incredible! You get the best of both worlds for beauty and recreation. This fully restored 1880 Victorian mansion is truly exquisite. There are 4 condos in the mansion. Our unit is a completely updated, well-appointed 2 bedroom, 2 bath oceanfront condo overlooking scenic Penobscot Bay sleeps 4 guests. This well-maintained condo sits on 63 acres with 2500 feet along the ocean. The property has expansive lawns, a walking path along the ocean, bike paths, tennis court, and swimming pool. Next door is the Samoset Golf Resort where you can enjoy ocean scenery while golfing. Acadia National Park and Monhegan Island are easy day trips. Visit scenic Rockport Harbor, where you can see the Andre the Seal statue, walk through the park, and enjoy the ocean views. We are a short drive to Camden Harbor. Enjoy walking around the harbor area, visiting the shops, dining at great restaurants, and perhaps taking a Windjammer cruise. Enjoy skiing at Camden Snow Bowl which is only 8 miles away. Drive up Mt. Battie and soak in the breathtaking ocean views. Imagine turning off US 1 and driving down the long driveway and suddenly in the distance you see a grand manor house situated on green, expansive lawns right next to the ocean. There is easy access to our unit with parking right outside the front door. Walking in the door, you can't help but be taken aback by the ocean view outside the living room and kitchen windows. You can actually see lobster boats and sailboats pass by from our deck. Downstairs is the living area, dining area, and kitchen. The new kitchen, with stainless steel appliances, is equipped with everything you need for a lobster pot that you can use to cook the lobster you just purchased off the boat! The upstairs has a master bedroom with a brand new all marble ensuite master bathroom. The guest room has its own bathroom, which is brand new, all marble, and gorgeous! From the two bedrooms, you have a breathtaking view of Penobscot Bay. What a great way to wake up every morning! Both bathrooms overlook a beautiful little pond on the west side of the building. We furnish towels, linens, and blankets. There is a washer/dryer upstairs. Wifi is included. There are 2 adult size bicycles and 2 helmets and tennis rackets available for you to enjoy. We have large cooler and small cooler for you to use for picnics. You have everything you need for a comfortable stay. The condo is extremely well-maintained with many upgrades.

"BEAUTIFUL EASTWARD ON THE OCEAN"
We had the good fortune of renting this amazing property for the month of September and loved everything about the condo and the area. Thomas and Roberta were wonderful to work with and they have done an outstanding job making their condo comfortable by combining modern updates while still keeping the New England charm. We enjoyed cooking in the well-stocked kitchen, appreciated the gorgeous updated bathrooms and were pleased at how clean the condo was. Sitting on the deck overlooking the Penobscot Bay was very serene and the surrounding housing area was a wonderful, peaceful place to take walks. We really enjoyed strolling the path that runs along the back of the property...the views are breathtaking. The condo has location, location, location being between Rockland and Camden. Without a doubt staying at Eastward was one of the best vacations we have ever had. We were actually sad to pack up our car and leave. Thank you Thomas and Roberta for sharing your piece of paradise.

WE ARE ALREADY BOOKED OUR 3RD STAY!!
This summer we enjoyed our second stay at 43 Eastward in Rockport. This time it was for a glorious 2 months. It was everything we remembered and more! This is a place to get away from all the stresses in life! Conveniently located in Rockport, all the comforts of home are there. Additional improvements were apparent including a beautiful new guest bathroom, fresh paint colors and lovely artwork. This condo has absolutely everything one could possibly need. The weather was beautiful for us alternating combination of sunny, foggy, hot and cool. Once again we took advantage of all the area has to offer: the fabulous Farnsworth Museum, schooner sails in the bay morning and sunset, picnics atop Mt. Battie, hunting for lighthouses up and down the coast, lobster in all forms, 4th of July fireworks viewed from offshore, wild blueberry picking, fresh flowers and veggies from Beth's farm market, peaceful neighborhood walks, cooling off in the pool, capturing postcard perfect photos from the deck and exploring spots off the beaten track. We took a few days to head north where we visited Lubec, Maine, the easternmost point in USA, followed by a fascinating day touring Campobello Island across the border in New Brunswick, Canada and the site of the Roosevelt family summer property. Even after two visits to midcoast Maine we still have a to-do list a mile long! The Thompsons are excellent hosts, very attentive, so easy to deal with. They have thought of everything one might require. You will not regret a stay at this premier property. The summer is awesome but bet the spring and autumn are even better. We will be back!

Wish we lived there!
We could hardly believe our good fortune in finding the Thompson's vacation property. This beautiful, immaculate place with postcard views is exactly as represented in the photographs and the perfect location to enjoy peace and quiet or as a base to explore all that is good about Maine! We loved spending the whole month of August there and the Thompson's could not have been nicer or more helpful and easy to deal with. Here's just a sampling of things we did: the world famous Rockland Lobster Festival, lunch and sunset schooner cruises out of Camden and Rockport harbors, road trip to Acadia National Park, picnics on top of Mt. Battie, walking the breakwater, watching the sailboats go by on the deck, awesome farmers markets, sampling every blueberry pie in the area, more lobster, organ concerts, shopping, Children's Chapel in the woods, more lobster, late night milkshakes at Dairy Dream, watching the fog roll in, going to see the "Oreo" cows, finding iconic Maine lighthouses, museums, exploring small villages inland, walking along the shoreline, and so much more. There are so many things we didn't even get to do. We might have watched TV for 2 hours total in a month! The condo is very comfortable and updated. Literally everything you might need is provided. There is a lovely swimming pool and tennis courts as well. Grocery and other necessary shopping is 5 minutes away. Eastward on the Ocean is a gorgeous, historic neighborhood. We made lots of friends and liked it so much we are returning for a longer period next year. Thanks for the memories and here's hoping the weather will be as perfect again for us!

Better Than Staying At A Hotel!!!
We visited Rockport in October, 2016 with another couple. We are from South Florida, so we wanted to see the changing of the leaves, enjoy some beautiful fall Maine weather, do some fun stuff and stay at a beautiful place. WOW….did we ever!!! The condo suited our needs perfectly. Downstairs was a cozy living room, with a newly remodeled kitchen off to its right. The kitchen was stocked with every gadget and appliance, just like your own home. There was a spacious dining area next to the kitchen. Upstairs were two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bedding was designer quality. The bathrooms were stocked with plush towels. This was way better than staying at an overpriced hotel. It was like home!!! I am a stickler for cleanliness, and this condo was immaculate! Beautifully decorated, cozy, warm, inviting, and every single room has a gorgeous view of Penobscot Bay. There is so much to do in the area, sightseeing, hiking, visiting lighthouses, etc. We even found a place to purchase lobsters dirt cheap, literally right out of the water. It was so much fun, and we will definitely be back. Thank you to the property owners, Thomas and Roberta, for providing such a nice home away from home. They were the nicest people you would ever want to talk to, and were so accommodating! We are so happy we found this gem! Please stay here….you won’t be disappointed. We recommended this condo to some friends, and they are planning a visit in the spring. Thanks again!!!
