About this property

Beautiful Loft Apartment Centrally Located for Recreation.

This unique, fully furnished loft apartment is located in downtown, historic Union. There are two comfortable queen beds, one upstairs and one down plus a twin daybed. We can provide more sleeping arrangements with comfortable, high profile air mattresses. There is a full kitchen and lots of room to relax. We provide DirecTV and computer access, either wired or wireless for your convenience.

Union is a charming, friendly town right on the Oregon Trail. It is quite common to see deer wandering down the street or standing in a farmer's field. We are proud of our wonderful Union County Museum and our Union Carnegie Public Library. Our little library is one of the few remaining Carnegie libraries in the West still used as a library. Union is also known for its impressive Victorian homes. In addition, it is the home of the Eastern Oregon Livestock Show and Rodeo, proudly one of the oldest in the West.

Union is the perfect location for easy access to explore and enjoy Eastern Oregon. We are located two hours from Boise, five hours from Portland, an hour from Pendleton one way and Baker City the other, plus being two hours from Hells Canyon one way and Wallowa Lake the other. We are ten minutes from Ladd Marsh Wildlife Area, the largest hard stem bulrush marsh remaining in Eastern Oregon and home to thousands of nesting birds during the spring.

Come and relax with us. Use us as your base as you explore beautiful Eastern Oregon. Come see the Blue Mountains, the Elkhorns and the Wallowas. We provide easy access to local rodeos every weekend all summer. It is perfect for mushroom hunters, bird watchers, and geocachers. We are fifteen minutes from hiking and snowmobiling trails. It is only a short drive to the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center located above Baker City.

We are the perfect place to stay when you come to the area for weddings, graduations, family reunions or functions at Eastern Oregon University, twenty minutes away.

Relaxing, quiet and homey
We enjoyed our stay— close to La Grande and Union is a quiet and relaxing place to visit. Beds were comfy, nice open design made “hanging out” fun and didn’t feel cramped at all with 5 adults. Definitely would recommend. Owners seemed very nice, too.

Short stay
My husband and I booked this loft because of its location near family living nearby in La Grande and it’s pet friendly set up for our darling miniature schnauzer. Due to a family emergency out of state my husband had to attend to, I ended up going alone with our dog. I was welcomed with a lovely, warm, and clean home. I was a bit apprehensive about staying by myself downtown, yet soon felt at ease due to the friendliness of the homeowners who also live in the historic building. The kitchen is well stocked and inviting. A good spot to invite family over for coffee cozied up next to the fireplace, and overall a nice atmosphere for relaxation. Beautiful natural light and a lovely pee pee spot to take our dog across the side alley. (Gated secret garden with fountain ⛲️.) I felt comfortable, warm, and safe. We’ll certainly be booking here again in the future. Extra plus- Washer & Dryer in the restroom. Thank you Mindy and Dave!

We are on-site owners so can provide any assistance that you need. We moved here from the Portland area several years ago and cannot even imagine living anywhere else. We love the fresh air, good water, friendly people and amazing scenery.

Why they chose this property

We moved to Union several years ago and bought one of the historic buildings in town. Part of the building was one of the original banks and the rest of the building was added later. It was the Chevrolet dealership for decades, a grocery store, community center, and restaurant later. The back portion of the building was reconfigured in recent years into beautiful loft apartments, one of which we make available as a vacation rental.
