About this property

Green House Lighthouse Hill Hill Ranch - Pet & ATV friendly! 2,001 Acre Ranch

"The Green House" is located amongst a host of ancient oak trees, some of which are more than 10 feet in circumference. It is within walking distance of our several very nice swimming, tubing and fishing areas with limestone cliffs and crystal clear water (and rock bottoms) on the 6-8 acre Miller Creek lake system.

"The Green House" includes 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, sleeps 10 people comfortably and 12 people with the use of the 2 sofas. Just like our other homes, you need only to pack your overnight bag. We have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable.

The kitchen is furnished with coffeemaker (coffee, filters, creamer, sugar, Splenda), pots, pans, stove, refrigerator, microwave, glassware, dishes, silverware, linens, serving bowls, cooking utensils, misc. spices, knife block, toaster, paper towels, napkins, basic condiments in the fridge, and spices in the cabinet for cooking, etc.

The living area has a leather furnishings and a loft above it. You can put your feet up and read a good book, watch DirectTV with movie channels, or head into town and rent a DVD to watch on the television. There is no telephone but there is an internet connection in the house if you really must stay in touch with those everyday hassles!

The house also has a basement, but we refer to it as 'The Man Cave' complete with leather furnishings a 48' TV and a bar to enjoy. The back porch has a large fire pit with 'rocking' chairs that you can sit in and enjoy a great fire. There's plenty of wood on the ranch - burn all you want! There is also a picnic table that you can use to have a meal outside. In addition, we also have a charcoal grill for outdoor cooking (charcoal provided).

If you wish to bring your dog or your horse we have accommodations for them as well. The back deck is fenced and can be used to contain your dog. We ask that you keep them off the furniture and beds and you are required to bring a crate to house them in when you are away from the house ($30 per night per pet stay fee - to be added to your quote after you book). For horses, we have a pipe fenced paddock directly behind the Red House with water & feed troughs as well as a run-in and tack area to keep your tack and feed dry (please note that you will need to rent the Red House as well to bring horses).

Lighthouse Hill Ranch is situated in the beautiful Texas Hill Country on 2,001 acres. With this much land it is your own private park to enjoy (see pictures for a map of the property). The ranch consists of rolling hills, incredible 50 mile views, and has one of the highest point in Blanco County. Enjoy the abundance of wildlife on the ranch from cattle, bird watching, deer, turkey, coyotes, armadillos, jackrabbits, doves and variety of other animals.

Rental of any of our houses or suites provides you access to the entire ranch (both tracts), which has numerous springs, over 4,000 feet of clear rock-bottom creek to swim and tube in (and including a unique creekside hot tub and waterfall grotto), 8 ponds to fish, a seasonal waterfall and miles of trails for riding your own ATV and bikes, hiking or riding your own horse.

In addition, we have five other homes on the ranch available for rental (no two houses are within 1/2 mile of each other) as well as 4 suites at the Arc de Texas. You can find them listed here on Vrbo, simply search Lighthouse Hill Ranch and you can see our 9 other rentals.

We look forward to having you at Lighthouse Hill Ranch!

Nice house nice ranch
The house was everything we needed for four adults and four kids. It's right up on the highway but you quickly forget that. The large oak trees in front of the house made for great front porch bird watching. What really made the stay great was access to the rest of the ranch. We had a great time exploring the grounds during the day encountering all kinds of wildlife. We didn't have enough time to go fishing in the catfish pond, but it was teeming with life. Hopefully we get to return one day.

Ranch life
The property was a little tricky to get to, but once we figured it out, all was good. We really enjoyed the multiple living areas (three levels). The hot tub / river area was perfect for us. The only issue we had was that the dinner wear was not clean when we arrived (lipstick, grime, food, etc. left on the plates that were in the cabinet (we washed every item by hand and re-placed before we ate or drank from them).

Such a Great House!
We rented the Green House for family during our celebration, and all that stayed there were very impressed. It was clean, and just as described with the great amenities. I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a great place out in the Johnston City area.

Nice place needs some TLC
This place was beautiful and perfect for what we needed the only thing I would suggest is it needs new utensils the knives were not even attached to the handles. The dishwasher needs maintenance it does not clean the dishes well. The washing machine spin cycle does not work and the pipe drains into the grass it's not connected to the plumbing on the outside. Highly recommend that you bring an ATV of some sort to get around unless you want the exercise. It's very rocky and popped a tire on one of our bikes. Would stay here again.

My husband and I purchased the ranch in 2004 for our enjoyment and for our 4 kids. It is absolutely the best purchase we've ever made. We love going to the ranch and swimming/tubing in the creek, fishing in the ponds, riding mountain bikes and ATVs on the trails, hiking the woods, and just generally enjoying a campfire with lots of stars on a clear night.

Because the ranch has one of the highest point in the county, we can see for 50 miles on clear days - and there's lots of clear days in this part of the country. There are 2 horses and 3 longhorns (along with a herd of 'regular' cattle) - it's fun to feed these animals, and our dog (Titan) loves to chase the big animals (that is, until they get irritated and turn and chase him).
