House, 1 Lg master Bedroom AC + Other (See Description), 1.5 Baths, (Sleeps 5)
I bought this property because the first time I came to Maui I was in Ka'napali it rained the whole time, went down to Kihei and it was beautiful and sunny , I heard that it was like that everyday and it is. sometimes you only have a week for your vacation and weather is important.
Marilyn purchased this House in 2001
Why Marilyn chose Kihei
I choose this property because of the location, its close to everything, the backyard is beautiful with banana trees mango tree and coconut palms, the lani has beautiful white hanging flowers all around it. the house is cozy and comfortable the longer I'm there the longer I wont to stay.
What makes this House unique
I love to wake up in the morning to the sound of the birds and the breeze in the palm trees. then going to Starbucks and getting coffee then going to the beach drinking my coffee, watching the whales then taking a walk on the beach then swimming for my workout. I LOVE IT.

We spend 2 weeks at this house and absolutely loved it.
1) It's very spacious (for 2 adults and 2 kids).
2) The house is pretty old, but many areas are freshly remodeled.
3) Location is great - a few minutes drive from the best beaches, shopping, etc.
4) Nice and very private backyard.
5) Everything you need in the house including kids sand toys, books, extra bedding, tons of towels... Just no dishwasher - not a big deal for us.
6) Easy check-in process and communications.
This unit, while on the main S. Kihei road, was still quiet and comfortable. It is very convenient to shopping, restaurants, the new theater and the park (with beach at far end). The only downside is I found the unit dark as all the windows(which are openable) are frosted.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! I was thinking the same thing about it being a little dark as im writing this the house is being painted and new flooring is being put down, its going to be beautiful and bright
RELAX AND ENJOY
This is a place that is sooo relaxing! You really get away from all the hustle and bustle but close enough to it to enjoy the shopping and restaurants, fantastic beaches with in walking distance.
the back yard looks like a jungle beautiful hibiscus, plumeria, banana trees, palms, etc.
Nice furnishings ,comfotable bed, the kitchn is fully stocked, beach chairs, beach toys , umbrella , I could go on . You really dont have to bring anything but your clothes . Love this place will definitely come back again! :)
Great little home
Great place to stay, conveniently located. Walking distance from anything you might need. We walked to the fruit stand several times during our stay. The house had everything we needed. We used the beach umbrella and chairs and set up at nearby Makena Park. We used the grill almost every night and ate out on the patio. It's a great little vacation home!!
I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay, it was a pleasures haveing you, you are always welcome to come back,
An oasis in Kihei
The location of this house was great, close to the beaches and to town, the backyard was beautiful, the furniture was very comfy. We walked down the street to rent bikes and walked to surf lessons. We'd love to stay again!
Living like a local
The house is on the main road in Kihei that runs along the ocean. Close to the beach, to get to one of the beaches (Kalama Beach Park), you just walk along the road for a few blocks. Also close to Kamaole Beach. There are many, many food places within walking distance. Starbucks and a grocery store (Foodland, which is like Safeway) nearby. 10-15 mins to drive to Wailea beaches and stores. No air conditioning in the house, the windows have open slats and there are fans. Since you keep windows open to keep the breezes flowing, you can hear the cars on the road. It wasn't that bad once you get used to it. In the back yard there is a coconut tree. There is a washer and dryer. There are beach towels and boogie boards provided. The snorkeling gear is not that great, as visitors lose parts. You can buy your own in Costco when you land (right next to the airport), or rent from one of the many places next to this house. Also, the drain in the shower was clogged up, so the water would fill up in the shower. We let the owner know when we left, and she said she would send someone to look at it. The owner contacted us beforehand to ask if we had any questions. Overall, this house was a nice casual place to stay at where you could feel like a local and at home.
Recommend stopping by Maui Bread Co. (in Kihei), try the lilikoi filled bun. Also, right when you land in Kahului, there is a food truck lot 5 mins from the airport across the street from Costco where they have good poke at Like Poke?. If you want to see turtles chilling, stop at Hookipa Beach which is just past Paia if driving from the direction of Kahului airport. If you go on the road to Hana, make sure to drive past Hana to Wainapanapa State Park for the black lava sand beach.
Aloha I am so glad that you enjoyed my house it’s so nice because it’s close to everything and it’s very comfortable I always ask my renters if they ever have a problem in the house with any of the plumbing or electrical or just anything I like to know right away because I will get it fixed right away, I wish I would’ve known about the plumbing when you first arrived I asked people not to rinse off all their sand when they come home from the beach in the shower but sometimes they do anyway and the shower gets stopped up , I have a plumber on call whenever there’s a problem . it’s a house not a resort or a condo so little things go wrong once in a while, I’m having AIR CONDITIONING put in this month !!! so the windows don’t have to be opened, it’s going to be so nice when it’s warm but mostly there’s such a wonderful breeze that blows through the windows , I love the Openess , depending what day of the week it is it does get busy on South Kihei Road on Saturday nights , otherwise it’s just all the birds in the morning that wake me up, which I love . I don’t supply boogie boards or snorkel gear anymore it’s too hard to fix and replaced all the time but there’s a place down the street that you can rent whatever you need many people buy things and leave them at the house so they’re usually are boogie boards and snorkel gear but I don’t put them in my description anymore
