Roomy Paris Apartment!

  • 4 of 5

My adult daughters and I stayed here for 5 nights. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out and get away from each other after long days of sight seeing. Very well equipped kitchen. Great shower.

Bus stop to Saint Lazare is right at the front door but I will admit we Ubered everywhere because I'm not good with mass transit.

It was warm and I wanted to sleep with the windows open but there is a lot of street noise. Paris is a loud city, I think more than let's say NYC, because there are so many motorcycles an scooters. Just an observation.

The apartment is around the corner from Rue de Mouffetard which is filled with great food shops and restaurants. Our favorite boulangerie is at the corner, get the Suisse Pistache!

Krystyna the concierge for the apartment was TERRIFIC. She was an incredible help and source of information regarding train schedules (there was a strike), dinner reservations, etc. I don't know what I would have done without her and I didn't realize I would need her help as much as I did. She always promptly replied to my emails and I so appreciated her!

Le Latin - Val - de - Grace

  • 3 of 5

Le Latin was comfortable and location was very good i.e. walking distance to the Jardin de Luxembourg. The bed sheets, towels were very clean.

The furniture and the appliances were very very old, it truly needs to be updated. That sofa has to go and the fridge in a closet, that was a first.

On check in day, we noticed there was construction happening in the courtyard's building walls, the windows where extremely dirty we could not see outside the inner courtyard and had to keep the curtains closed. We should have been told about this renovation since the owner/ management new about it 3 weeks prior to our arrival. In addition the stairways / elevator were immensely dusty.

Great books / library about Paris, very thoughtful and helpful reference.

Thank you!

Owner's Response: Dear Liliane, Many thanks to you and your family for making Le Latin your Paris chez-vous! We're so pleased you felt at home, and had a comfortable stay. We do our best to make Le Latin comfortable and user friendly as possible. All beds are new -- the Queen in the main bedroom and the 2 twins were changed 6 months ago. The historic parquet floors have recently been re-supported and refinished. the dishwasher was replaced 3 month ago. All recessed, Halogen lights were replaced with brighter, less heat creating LED's. The refrigerator is actually located in the kitchen supply closet, very typical in France, leaving room for a table and chairs, which allows for dining in the kitchen--rare in Paris. Our apologies for the works underway in the courtyard. The work began in March, and it was to last 6 to 8 weeks. The French are not great at respecting delays. Every week we ask when will it be finished?, and they always reply, "This week." However, no one comes to work. For your reservation in late May, it should have been wrapped up weeks before. Luckily, they are only working on the rain gutters, but there is scaffolding in courtyard, so sorry. We hope you have amazing memories of exploring Paris and the Latin Quarter! Kind Regards, Steven & Veronica

Absolutely lovely apartment -- perfect for family of four exploring the best of Paris!

  • 5 of 5

We're so glad we chose to stay here -- the apartment itself is in a beautiful area with great shops, restaurants and historic streets with the best food vendors open the outdoors, and easy-to-access Metro stops, all within 1-2 blocks. The apartment itself has so much charm, with its antiques and Persian style carpets on gorgeous hardwood floors to its modern leather sofas and just-enough-but-not-too-much tasteful paintings.

Everything is in great condition, it's super clean, the beds are comfortable, and the heated towel rack was used by all (we want one at home now!). We loved how it gave our family with two teen boys enough space to recharge/read/take a nap, and a comfortable family room and kitchen to be together at the end of the day. The clothes washer and dryer helped us pack light and worked great for smaller loads. And the kitchen worked well for making breakfasts before we headed out for sight-seeing.

We chose to have a greeter on the first day -- totally worth it for $20 euros. He showed us how to work the appliances, etc., and when we had a question once, he called back within 2 minutes of leaving a message. He also made sure we started with a stock of TP, paper towels, outlet converters, salt/sugar/etc. right from day one. I felt better knowing we had someone to reach out to if anything came up, too.

One thought if you come fall/winter/early spring - DON'T turn the heat up too much. You'll come home to a too-toasty apartment ;). Those old-style radiators work well!

Superb experience from start to finish - don't hesitate to stay here!

Great place to stay

  • 5 of 5

This apartment was perfect for our family of 4. The second bedroom has twin beds, which were great for the kids (10 & 11). The beds were comfortable and everything was clean - yay! There is a binder with lots of useful information, and two locals are on hand if you have any questions/issues. Having a washer and dryer is great - as well as a dishwasher. We liked the location (not touristy). The bakery across the street is *amazing*, and there are plenty of good places to eat within a short walk. Also it's convenient to be near the RER line that goes directly to the airport (Luxembourg stop). We also used the metro stop at Censier Daubenton, and there are several different buses that stop meters away from the apartment, which was great. Overall, we were happy with the apartment, and, of course, Paris is awesome!
