Bedrooms 3
Property type house
Minimum Stay 1 - 7 nights

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Relax and unwind at Summer Day Beach House, a beautiful new air-conditioned luxury retreat with your own gourmet kitchen. Enjoy more amenities than most 5 star hotels. It’s all here, whether you are a family with children, or one or two couples wanting to enjoy a romantic getaway and a retreat from the city.

Enjoy Qualicum Bay scallops, Fanny Bay oysters, and local prawns, crab, salmon and halibut prepared in a gorgeous kitchen with quartz counter tops, stainless steel range and dishwasher, and Jenn-Air refrigerator. Dining for six inside at an antique dining table or outside through French doors leading onto a large terrace with a Weber BBQ, gas fire table, comfortable patio set with a peek-a-boo ocean view.

Summer Day Beach House is fully equipped and beautifully furnished. Dim the lights and relax in front of a large Panasonic HD TV and the fireplace, or listen to your favourite music throughout the house on the built-in Russound audio system. Enjoy soft towels and a luxurious walk-in shower with two shower heads in one bathroom, or a relaxing bathtub in the second bathroom. Both bathrooms have granite counter tops and heated marble floors. Curl up in one of three bedrooms (two downstairs, one upstairs) on high quality linens.

After your morning coffee, walk on the 500 feet of private beachfront, or beach comb along miles of undisturbed beach and see deer, bald eagles and the rare Qualicum white raven. Enjoy your lunch in the provided picnic basket at the clubhouse where you may use the swimming pool, separate adult and children whirlpools, exercise room, party room and pool table. At the end of the day relax at the beach picnic tables or around the fire pit located by the beach as you watch the Alaska cruise ships pass between you, Lasqueti and Texada Islands.

Over the next days you can golf at one of six local golf courses, or enjoy sport fishing at Deep Bay. Visit the pub and fish market at French Creek, where you can also take the passenger ferry to Lasqueti Island. Baynes Sound offers bird watching. Horseback riding is nearby. Travel on the nearby Buckley Bay car ferry for the 15-minute trip to Denman Island or on a second ferry on to Hornby Island. Provincial parks abound: you can swim, suntan, or play in the sand at nearby Qualicum Beach, 2 waterslide parks in Parksville, or Spider Lake, go spelunking at the nearby Horne Lake Caves, or enjoy the majesty of old-growth forests at Cathedral Grove. Shop or dine in the delightful town of Qualicum Beach with its galleries and restaurants, or visit the village of Coombs known for it's goats living on the Roof. Enjoy browsing the old country market, ice cream parlor, shopping and Italian restaurant with delicious wood fired pizza. Located nearby is the parrot refuge and butterfly world. A leisurely day trip west to Port Alberni and Long Beach, or north to Campbell River, Courtenay and Comox are all waiting for you.

About one hour to skiing, boarding or snowshoeing at Mount Washington. It is also a great place for mountain biking and hiking in the summer.

Summer Day Beach House is at Qualicum Landing. Qualicum Landing is a gated luxury waterfront community about 45 minutes by car from the Nanaimo ferry terminal or about the same time and distance from Comox Airport. Centrally located in what is known as Lighthouse Country and the Oceanside region of central Vancouver Island, it is 10 minutes north of Qualicum Beach. The address is 5251 West Island Highway, Nanaimo Regional District, V9K 2C1. This is also known as the Oceanside Route, Highway 19A, or the old Island Highway. Qualicum Landing is also accessible from Exit 75 on the new Inland Island Highway (Highway 19) that runs parallel a few miles inland from the West Island Highway.

The pool and whirlpools are open from June 15 to September 15. The tennis/sports court open all year round.

This was truly a home away from home that exceeded our expectations in every category. What a gem!

  • 5 of 5

We selected this rental based on the location and advertised information. It did not disappoint. The owners, Jim and Roszita, responded promptly to our inquiry and they remained available throughout the rental. The unit is tastefully decorated and very well equipped, making us feel right at home from the very first day. We enjoyed the amenities and the comfortable surroundings. We did a lot of sightseeing in a number of communities and attractions up and down the coast. We enjoy shopping and found a great variety of well stocked and unique stores that exceeded our expectations. This rental was well priced and not lacking in any way. It is a true "gem" thanks to the owners, Jim and Roszita.

Great place in the Qualicum area. Our cottage had everything we needed and more. From a well equipped kitchen to a welcoming patio area with comfortable seating and fire feature. A must stay for a couples retreat or a family vacation. The pool and hot tub always a added bonus.

Stunning, clean, with everything we would ever need.

  • 5 of 5

Our family enjoyed a fabulous holiday with everything we needed to enjoy our stay right at Qualicum Landing or very nearby. We enjoyed walks down to the beach every morning, afternoons on the patio and at the pool. A short drive into Qualicum Beach and Parksville allowed us to see plenty during our stay!

Wonderful Beach Cottage in an Exceptional Ocean Front Development

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful cottage; clean, quiet and very comfortable, with pretty much everything needed to make it feel like home.

The ideal vacation property with easy access to the beach and all the comforts and amenities you require for a stress free and extremely enjoyable getaway.

The owners (Jim & Rosita) are great; very friendly, attentive and accommodating.

Qualicum Landing is a great place to relax and kick back, but if you do want to see the sights, it’s in a great location for day trips.

We very much enjoyed our two week stay at this lovely cottage and are looking forward to our return visit.

A home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

We recently spent 3 months at this lovely "cottage" at Qualicum Landing; a lovely enclave of homes with ocean views. Our morning walk included time on the beach often seeing seals, sea lions, deer, eagles and the resident rabbits. A peaceful place.

The cottage itself is beyond lovely. It is equipped perfectly and with obvious care to ensure every need was considered. We felt pampered and relaxed. The kitchen is fully equipped and a cooks dream. Loved, loved loved the kitchen island! The pictures are accurate but really do not convey the total comfort of this cottage! Linens were top notch and beds including the sofa bed comfortable. Part of our stay included family visits and this cottage was very comfortable for 5 adults.

From Qualicum Landing we explored the island enjoying Qualicum Beach, Bowser ( taco stand!), Lighthouse Country trails, Fanny Bay (seals), Coombs (Cuckoo Italian Restaurant), Nanaimo, Ucluelet and the Wild Pacific Trail. We felt centrally located to explore with ease. Our side trips to Victoria and Black Rock resort ( Ucluelet) provided Island perspective. A highlight for our off season (winter) stay was the ' herring run' in early March. Right off the beach we were witness to a frenzy of sea life ( birds including eagles, seals and sea lions) and fishing boats. A glorious day of activity! We are blessed to have experienced this directly off Qualicum Landing!

Jim and Roszita were considerate hosts and we appreciate their concern for our comfort. I cannot recommend them and their lovely home more! A delight!

Perfect Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I have spent the last 2 months in this delightful cottage and we will miss it when we leave in a few days. It has everything you could ask for in a home away from home. The kitchen is well supplied with good quality large and small appliances, the bathrooms are attractively done with a very large shower in the master and a comfy tub upstairs and the living room is cosy for tv watching or entertaining with large doors that open to the back yard. All of the furniture is top notch and the decor tastefully done. Beds are comfy with good quality linens. We have loved getting to know the town of Qualicum Beach which has lots of interesting one of a kind shops and restaurants. Our favourite for Sunday breakfast is "Ohhh So Yummy Cafe" and for dinner you have to try "Cuckoos" in Coombs. Jim and Roszita have made our stay here so enjoyable always making sure we have had everything that we needed. They are very easy to deal with and very accommodating and it has been a pleasure getting to know them. I highly recommend a stay on the island in this beautiful home.
