About Jeana Thomas

We had always wanted to live outside the U.S., and I had a long term dream of really speaking Spanish. So we had traveled widely in Mexico. One day we missed our turn and wound up in Sayulita. What a pleasant surprise!

Jeana Thomas purchased this studio in 2008

Why Jeana Thomas chose Sayulita

We like the mix of Gringos and Mexicans in this adorable little beach town. We live, work and play all mixed up together. We don't care for walled communities, so Sayulita was more our style. We were attracted to the idea of building here, and ended up building two 2BR houses and a casita, all of which are for rent on VRBO.

What makes this studio unique

Our homes here are QUIET and peaceful. The center of town can be quite active and sometimes noisy, so it's wonderful to be so close to town that we can walk in for coffee or shopping and walk home to our peace and quiet. This home is located near the entrance to Sayulita, and the bus stops very nearby. It's very easy to catch the bus to go into Bucerias for shopping at the major grocery stores or to the airport or downtown Puerto Vallarta.

Taxis around town are reasonable, and the fares are posted on a plaque in the plaza where the taxis park. Driving in Sayulita is difficult, and parking is more difficult downtown. Better to walk and use taxis as needed if you can.

Good location. Friendly & responsive owner. The place was decent.

  • 3 of 5

I’d give the actual apartment a 3.5 rating. Great location and service. Accommodations were comfortable enough but not a “wow” and a little tired looking. Too bad pool access isn’t available if you only rent the small suite, although we knew that before booking. The place was clean and all the staff that came around were friendly. The resident cat Lucy was cute and warmed up to us once we have her some treats! If this is the price point you’re looking for, I’d say it’s good value.

Close to town and the beach. Jeana was very responsive and considerate. Construction next door, the crews are respectful. Looking forward to returning to Sayulita.

Owner's Response: It was a pleasure to host Kate. Construction is two doors down (not next door - just to clarify) and was described in detail before their stay and a discount given to these guests. I just talked to people in the Casita today, and they say the noise level has been just fine, and always very quiet at night from the noise of downtown. So c'mon down!

Awesome place in a great neighborhood close to town and the beach

  • 5 of 5

This place is very nice, the pictures do not really do it justice. It is in a great neighborhood and its comfortable, very well outfitted and decent internet and the A/C works great. Its quite comfortable for 2 people and there is a washer and dryer in the building. Finally, there is a friendly cat Lucy that comes and says "hi".

I really enjoyed my stay and didn't want to leave. Jeana was very attentive and made sure things went well. The studio is a close walk to town but away from the bustle. Very clean, modern and well equipped. I will stay here again.

Perfect Spot for First Timers To Sayulita

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent 7 days at the Casita on our first visit to Sayulita. It was an ideal spot to stay, everything was as advertised, the owners were awesome and gave great tips on where to eat and other things to do. They really helped us out from our arrival to our departure. Everything was a short walk away. For first time visitors this is an excellent option and once you stay there you will want to come back. Thanks Jeana for everything we really had a great stay at the Casita!
