About the property

6 Bed & 6 1/2 Bath vacation home ~ Great for large group (Sleeps 12-13)

This historical home was built in 1876 as a wedding gift for the builder's daughter. It has been restored to the magnificence of it's grand style while also incorporating some modern features. Private ensuite bathrooms and fully equipped kitchen included in price.

We purchased the home from the Catholic Church who used it as a convent from the 1960's till we purchased it. During that time the bedrooms were divided into many small bedrooms to accommodate the nuns that lived there. After we purchased it, we decided to restore it to its original number bedrooms while adding a private ensuite bathroom for each one.

We offer special rates for special events - if you may be interested in renting our house, send me an inquiry!

Why David Robinette chose Yarmouth

We LOVE Yarmouth! It's charming, laid back style welcomes you. If you love to relax - you will love Yarmouth. Yarmouth is like stepping back about 30 years to that small town we grew up in, but also has great restaurants and museums, as well as some amazing scenic views around the area.

What makes this house unique

So many things to do in Yarmouth - and this house is so near to them.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi Veronica,

I wanted to let you know that we really enjoyed our stay at your beautiful home. The weather was great. If you are ever in Dieppe NB please come and say Hi. We own a restaurant called the Fisherman’s Paradise.

Our girls finished 2nd place in volley-ball, they won the silver medal. They were so excited.

Thanks again,

Owner's Response: So glad you enjoyed your stay! This is my vacation home, and I'm pleased to be able to offer it to others when I cannot be there. When I renovated it, we filled it with antiques and items from the area, to keep it authentic to Yarmouth. It is a favorite with guests, and many guests return every year.

What a wonderful weekend we had in this beautiful, very well equipped historic house! Our stay could not have been more comfortable! The extremely clean, spacious glorious home was the perfect setting for an extended family get away. Absolutely everything we could have imagined was available to us including a large BBQ, furnished patio, separate well equipped bathrooms for all 6 bedrooms, as well as a powder room on the main floor. The kitchen was more than well equipped...dishes, glassware, cutlery, pots & pans, dishwasher etc...the owners have thought of everything. All of our family members were very impressed, and we all plan to return....we would highly recommend this VRBO to any group! Many, many thanks to the owners!

Lovely old home rich with decor

  • 4 of 5

This lovely turn of the century home was the perfect setting for our "maritime" family reunion. There was ample room for all 13 of us including beds, bathrooms and sitting/living room space. The house has been beautifully refinished on the inside. No small task considering the size of the home. We would actually make wrong turns trying to find our way around the house.

The house is walking distance to all amenities and the downtown core which offered many nice shops suitable for different ages (from crafts and clothing to comics and video games).

I am only rating 4 out of 5 stars because, like all older homes, there was some (inevitable) wear and tear on the exterior of the building that made leisure time outside less enjoyable then the interior.

Overall a wonderful experience...too bad it is so far away from the rest of Canada, otherwise we would come back sooner.

Yarmouth Classic

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful Yarmouth home, built in the style of the 19th century sea captain's homes which Yarmouth is famous for. It is showing its age but has lots of character, charm and history that make a stay at this house a unique experience that you cannot get in many places. The house is well equipped, plenty of bathrooms, towels, plates, etc. We used the house for our 'home-away-from-home' for a Yarmouth wedding and it met our expectations to accommodate and receive out of town guests perfectly. The photographer loved the place and used the house for a number of the bridal party pre-wedding photos! The house offers privacy and is in a quiet neighbourhood. Dianna and David responded quickly and positively to our requests which added to the experience. I highly recommend this house!

Connecticut crew

This was a beautiful home that has been lovely cared for throughout the years. It was "museum quality" however at the same time very warm and welcoming. All the modern conveniences were up to date and very clean/proper. The location allowed us to explore, but also to kick back and relax when we wanted. The yard was large enough to allow us to play touch football. The people of Yarmouth could not have been friendlier. Loved the relaxed atmosphere. Yarmouth is well situated to take many different small excursions, such as whale watching, trails to rails walks, visiting/walking through the wind farm, visiting museums (we visited 3) right in Yarmouth, going to the beach in Maitland, as well as Port Fourchu, self guided tour of sea captains' homes, and of course shopping. We all loved Nova Scotia!!!
