Located in historic downtown Halifax, this modern condo is close to shops, restaurants, the Halifax business center, and our world famous boardwalk and waterfront. It is also a short walk to both Dalhousie and St. Mary's Universities, as well as the IWK and VG Hospitals.

A 2-minute walk to the Westin Hotel, the brand new Seaport Farmers' Market, Pier 21, two grocery stores and pharmacies, this condo is sure to meet all your needs!

Our ground-floor condominium is a comfortable and tastefully furnished 2-bedroom unit with 1200 square feet of living space in a safe, secure building. The condo is certainly not a hotel and we hope it feels more like a home to our guests.

Each very large bedroom suite has a pillow-top queen sized bed, linens, and ample closet and dresser space to spread out and really make yourself at home. We also have two pack-and-play baby pens for those visitors who are traveling with young children that are kept in the unit.

The spacious living room has a big comfortable sectional couch and arm chair, a 40' LCD TV, as well as premium digital cable with full HDTV service and unlimited wireless connection.

Should you find yourself wanting to eat in or entertain, our condo has a full sized dining room, and a fully equipped kitchen with pots, pans, dishes, coffeemaker, kettle, utensils and all the basics you will desire when you arrive (salt, pepper, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, etc.) On those hot summer days, enjoy the gas BBQ on the private outside patio that quietly faces the back of the building.

For those who wish to stay connected, there is complimentary wireless high speed internet access for all your computers and devices. The condo is also equipped with a cordless phone that can be used for calling locally, free of charge.

For your added convenience, the building also has a bright, clean and secure underground parking and a live-in building superintendent. The entire unit, parking, entrance, laundry, etc. is all wheel chair accessible (excluding the outside back patio which has 1 step up).

About Kurtis Peterson

Kurtis and Tiffany are avid travelers and use beautiful Eastern Canada as their base. Kurtis, an Elementary School Principal and Tiffany, a Grade 5 teacher at an International School in HCMC, Vietnam. Together they enjoy getting outside, conversing with good friends and marveling in excellent food and wine around the world.

Tiffany originally grew up in Ontario and at the age of 7 her parents decided to move the family to Halifax for a 'lifestyle change' and have never looked back. We live abroad but return to Halifax a few times a year to visit friends and family (and the ocean!)

We love this condo because it is quiet but right downtown!

Downtown Halifax gives you the conveniences of a large metropolitan city, with the warmth and charm of the Canadian Maritimes. You will never meet more hospitable, down-to-earth people than Nova Scotians and we are confident that they will convey how truly proud they are of where they come from.

What makes this condo unique

Our condo is right in the heart of the city. There are a lot of rentals around Halifax, but very few directly downtown, nor are many clean, cut condos. Our unit is on the ground floor of the condo so accessible for everyone.

You are walking distance to just about everything; shopping, restaurants, bars, our famous boardwalk and all the tourist attractions (the Halifax citadel, Pier 21, the Maritime Museum, Nova Scotia crystal, the Public Gardens, Alexander Keith's Nova Scotia Brewery, Spring Garden Road, the halifax explosion graveyard, the Halifax Metro Centre, Casino Nova Scotia as well as countless yearly festivals and events and more!). It is also handy to hospitals and both Dalhousie and St. Mary's Universities.

Home away from home!

Halifax is a beautiful city that is like our second home and this condo is like home away from home. My husband grew up in Halifax and so our trips back involve visiting and entertaining friends and family. This year we came for a wedding and so lots of entertaining was involved. This condo met all our needs. I was able to cook nice meals and share them with family. It is spacious with a lovely layout and it's nicely decorated. The beds are very comfortable and the Owners provide you with comfy housecoats, upgraded Internet and some basics. We travelled with our daughter, son-in-law and their 22 month old daughter. The pack and play was great to have and it was nice to be able to put the baby to bed and continue visiting. The best feature of this condo is definitely the location. It is perfect. Walking distance to all the Harbour front, a playground, lots of restaurants, shopping, bar hopping, Tim Horton's, superstore and a liquor store.The condo comes with a parking spot and the greatest superintendent, Debra--she's wonderful. You feel safe and secure and it has laundry facilities--so you can come home without dirty clothes! I would recommend this condo for anyone who wanted a home away from home experience.

Everything you need in a great location!!

This 2 bedroom condo is in a great location within walking distance from both downtown and the waterfront. It is comfortably furnished with a large dining table, sectional couch, easy chairs and very comfy beds. Lots of linens and every kitchen utensil that you need. A full package of instructions for everything from accessing the unit to parking and checkout arrived promptly after payment, and even included restaurant and sightseeing suggestions for a 6 day stay. The unit was clean and very serviceable. One other bonus is a wonderfully friendly and helpful building superintendent! I would recommend this without hesitation, it was a great accommodation for the week we were there, very good value.

Pretty much as the other reviews describe. Excellent location. Well-equipped. Very clean. My one difficulty was that Tiffany and Kurtis were sometimes difficult to reach, especially after I paid my deposit. I was reassured by the reviews on the page and by VRBO whom I contacted for help, and sure enough they did eventually reply, with apologies. In the end we were quite satisfied with the stay but they live in Vietnam and I found it took persistence and patience communicating with them. (one tiny thing...only 2 wine glasses for 4 people). The building superintendent is a real gem.

Fantastic home away from home

I was struggling to decide on which hotel room to book in downtown Halifax. Was going to be there with my 23-year-old son to help him pack up his place after he graduated university. All the hotel rooms were so small and then on top of most of them you had to pay for parking and Internet. I came across this Condo And the rate worked out to be not much more than what I was seeing for hotel rooms so I booked it. The owners were very responsive by email. The place looked exactly as it does in the pictures. It was clean and had the comfiest couch. The underground parking was fantastic so I never had to worry if there was a spot available on the street. I had a small SUV and I had no trouble parking it. You can literally walk everywhere downtown. From the waterfront boardwalk and the market to the grocery store to Spring Garden Road to restaurants. It was great to have two separate bedroom spaces so my son could have his privacy instead of sharing a small hotel room with his mother for the week. Felt just like being in your own home. Amazing to have so much space for not much more than the price of a hotel room. I would recommend this place to anyone staying downtown Halifax.

Good Location

My wife and I stayed two weeks in this apartment in midsummer. The apartment is a little dreary with poor views out of the windows, however the apartment is clean, safe and secure, a block away from a large grocery store and a liquor store, and near the east end of the boardwalk. The beds were comfortable , all extra towels , toilet paper, garbage bags and paper towels were provided. We ate all our meals in the apartment. The kitchen had most everything you would want except for a chef knife for cutting and chopping and perhaps a large pot for cooking lobsters. We bought two 2lb. lobsters at one of the fish markets on the road to Bedford and had a hard time getting both in the largest pot in the kitchen.

The rent on the apartment seems a little high but there appears to be few condo or apartments for rent for a week or two in Halifax.

Ground floor unit but off to the side of the floor to remain quiet.

Our building, Tobin Terrace, is across the street from the Westin Hotel Halifax, a park suitable for children and pets, the Atlantic Superstore (grocery stores), pharmacy, various restaurants, coffee shops and bars as well as a 3 minute walk to the Halifax boardwalk, Pier-21 and numerous other sights in Halifax.
