About The Owner

Ed and Brenda purchased this property in 1991. We were apple orchardists until 2010 when we decided to take a different track and replant to grapes/vineyard. We thoroughly enjoy living in Oyama. It is a rural lifestyle, with great neighbors all around.

The Owner purchased this guest house in 1991

Why The Owner chose Lake Country

Oyama has so much to offer. We have heard many times from our visitors how much they enjoy the beauty of the Oyama area. It seemed natural to create a vacation rental to continue to share this great place with others. In 2006 we began the process of constructing our guesthouse. It has been a pleasure and a challenge to think of all the amenities that we would like to offer our guests. We want each guest to enjoy their stay to the maximum.

What makes this guest house unique

The choices are plenty at Grapewood Guesthouse. Beaches, hiking trails, Cycling the Okanagan Rail Trail, shopping, fishing local and mountain lakes, tennis courts, boat rentals etc. are all nearby. Or, relaxing with a cool beverage on the shaded private patio on a hot day might just be your style.

Grapewood Guest house is amazing, everything you and your family or friends would need. The home was completely stocked with all necessities you need. The house was extremely clean, and we were able to enjoy the outdoors. Easy access from the main HWY but off the beating path, nice and quiet and a wonderful view of the lake.

Brenda & Edward were wonderful host, making our stay even more enjoyable Thank you again for allowing our family enjoy your family Guest House.

Comfortable house- real home away home!

  • 5 of 5

It’s really a nice home away home! So comfortable house that you forgot you’re far away home. There are even toys for little ones and a lot of DVDs for adults. Thanks Brenda for your consideration! My kids were so excited to play with the toys there! I will definitely come back and recommend to my friends.

Lovely guesthouse with a view of Woods Lake

  • 5 of 5

The guesthouse was well- appointed, spotless and very comfortable for our group of two couples. Our every need was anticipated and provided for. Extra bonuses were the guided tour of the walnut grove and vineyard on the premises, excellent tips on sites to see in the area, and a yummy apple pie on the kitchen counter when we arrived. Location is perfect from which to explore the Okanagon Lakes region and to which to return for relaxing.

Lovely property in a beautiful area

  • 5 of 5

So glad we managed to book this lovely guesthouse in such an idyllic spot. Overlooking the lake at the front with a vineyard at the back. Initially there was a problem with the WiFi but this was rectified immediately by Ed. The owners made us most welcome and took the time to get to know us. We had a lovely tour of the vineyard with Ed explaining the science behind it all. Brenda and Ed gave us lots of tips on where to visit while we stayed in Lake Country and checked that we had everything that we needed. There were even beach towels, chairs and mats for us to use when we visited the lakes.

The property was spotless. The kitchen was fully equipped and there is a good sized washer and dryer. All the beds were very comfortable and the air conditioning was a lovely bonus.

The bakery next door was very convenient for many things including meals as well as baked goods. There are also shops and restaurants nearby.

We visited a local farm which we all enjoyed as we got to hold baby kangaroos! My young adults even managed to take kangaroo selfies!!

I would not hesitate to recommend this property to everyone. We hope that we will be able to visit here again in the future. There is an airport close by so you could fly in from another area if you didn't want to do any long drives to get to Lake Country. I would however recommend a hire car to get around in as there are plenty of places of interest and things to see and do.

This really is a lovely property which is spotlessly clean in a beautiful area. Sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine in the evening or having a cup of tea in the morning is a most refreshing and relaxing way to start and/or finish your day.

Thank you Brenda and Ed for letting us stay here.

We had a very nice stay here, Brenda and Ed were around if you needed them both very nice hosts. This was a nice clean, spacious place with a spectacular view of the surrounding area and the lake beyond. This time there were only my wife and myself so we only needed the one room. This would have been great place to share with our Son and Family as there was another (separated) bathroom and bedroom on the other side with the kitchen and sitting area in the middle. We unfortunately did not have a lot of time to spend here as we were busy in town for most of our stay - so we didn't get to wander around the property. {next time} Thanks for the stay....
