Hi! Thanks for stopping by. We have two young children, we've made our condo as kid-friendly as possible - with all the adult perks we can't live without!
THE CONDO: FOR THE KIDS
You will not have to bring everything from your house to ours. The toddler beds are here if you need them, in the closets if you don’t. Before the start of every season we have the carpet professionally eco- cleaned, bleach the sheets and towels (all white), and go through all the toys for cleanliness and completeness. We use quilts and blankets for our bedding so they can be easily washed in the condo.
- 3 toddler beds,
- wall to wall carpet,
- large wood dining room table (fine for art projects),
- plastic dishes and cups for meals,
- outlet covers,
- safety bars on low windows in MBR,
- bathroom stool,
- large bins of kids toys,
- crayons and paper,
- kids movies,
- regular cable and DVR for their favorite shows.
(if your child falls in love with a toy or book please feel free to take it with you, I frequently replenish the supply!)
THE CONDO: FOR THE ADULTS
The unit overlooks the 1st hole, fairway and lake of the golf course. We spend our precious alone time in comfort – mostly on the deck that has been transformed into an outdoor room with comfortable chairs, outdoor carpet, and custom made benches and table for outside dining. We have a perfect sunset view over the lake, and we get lots of beautiful sunsets here!
There's a flat screen TV, DVD, gas fireplace, washer/dryer, and fully stocked kitchen. The master bath is huge, with a double sink, jetted tub and shower. The master bedroom has a desk with monitor and wireless internet, and a second flat screen TV.
We’re all about making life easy, especially at the beach. A few things that matter to us and we’ve put out for you are:
- nice silverware and proper dishes (i.e. not melamine)
- serving pieces for dinners
- good glassware, including wine and champagne glasses and frosted mugs in the freezer,
- high quality blender,
- cooking spices, salt & pepper, etc. (all fresh)
- a “beach cart” for hauling your stuff to and from the wave pool if you walk,
- an umbrella stroller and picnic blanket,
- Google Chromecast on TV so you can stream Netflix, Amazon, etc.
The Peninsula is the perfect vacation for golfers and families. The huge outdoor wave pool has a graduated entry and a very clean man-made beach. There are an abundance of lounge chairs, a snack bar, restaurant and bar for eating in or carry out, and clean bathrooms. Lifeguards are on duty at all times. It's like being on a private island at a luxury resort.
There is also a huge adult pool with hot tub and an indoor pool with hot tub. You'll also find a sand volleyball court, a full basketball court, and 8 tennis courts with 2 types of surfaces.
The community center has a large fitness room with classes and personal training. Or treat yourself to a massage in a spa room. There is a great kids playroom with foosball, air hockey, coloring, TV's and toys. During the summer there are organized activities every day for children.
The community is perfect for biking, running or walking. It's a half a mile to the bay where you can enjoy drinks on the beach while the kids explore. It's a perfect 3.2 miles to the gatehouse and back.
The golf course is called 'The Pebble Beach of the East'. It's a gorgeous course designed by Jack Nicklaus, 7,200 yards, with a par 72.
You will be 8 miles from Rehoboth Beach, it takes about 20 minutes to get into the center of town. Along the way you will find many chain restaurants and 5 sets of outlet shops, a huge selection including Polo, Coach, Sony, Gymboree, Banana Republic, Nike, J. Crew, Black and Decker and Gap.
The town of Rehoboth is as charming as can be. Rehoboth Avenue is 4 long blocks of boutiques, fantastic restaurants, ice cream, pizza and beach shops. The beach is wide and long and has over 2 miles of boardwalk with arcades, shops, and Funland with rides and games. The games are typically a dollar and the rides are between a quarter and fifty cents so it's a place you can go a few times (bring one of our large flannel sheets and grab some food from the boardwalk for an evening picnic on the beach!)
Rehoboth also has 2 water parks, Jungle Jims, and Midway Speedway which also has go-carts.
There is no lack of things to do, you'll need a full week to get it all in!
