Subway proximity is the highest priority for New Yorkers. The L TRAIN (Lorimer St.) to Manhattan is ONE MINUTE WALK from our home at the corner at Union/Metropolitan. As is the G TRAIN (Metropolitan Ave) to downtown Brooklyn/Queens

Our townhouse is perfectly situated on a quiet residential street in Brooklyn's hippest neighborhood: Williamsburg. The area is packed with great restaurants, bars, deli's, bakeries and vintage stores. Nearby is McCarren Park, The Knitting Factory, and Union Pool. On our block alone: Chimu, a Peruvian steak house, M Noodle, Kings County Chinese (nouveau), Setti Pane Bakery. French, Japanese, Southern BBQ, Italian all a short walk away. As is the new Apple Store. The neighborhood is also a magnet for young people moving to the city and an influential hub for indie rock, hipster culture, and the local art community. We regularly host parents from all over the world who are visiting their children and grandchildren.

Union Square/14st St in Manhattan is 7 minutes on the subway. We are 20 minutes from downtown Manhattan and to Times Square. Closer still to the West and East Village, Soho, Tribeca, Union Square and 5th Ave via the popular L TRAIN subway line: One minute from our townhouse and then a 5 minute ride into Manhattan.

This is a private apartment with a private entrance. The spacious living room is open to the kitchen & dining area so there's plenty of light and air. The rear windows both lookout into the private garden in the backyard. The front windows look onto the street and front garden.

The apartment can accommodate up to SIX guests: The bedroom has a queen bed which sleeps 2. The second bedroom, accessed off the master bedroom, has bunk beds (two singles). There is also a queen size AeroBed that self-inflates in 1 minute and deflates just as quickly. While this isn't a traditional mattress is extremely comfortable. WIFI

The entire apartment is newly furnished, linens and a fully-stocked kitchen. A perfect home base for your trip to New York City. Owners live on site, in a separate residence.

My husband and I both work in Manhattan and take the L Train to work. I'm a television producer, my husband a Broadway actor. Our daughter attends high school in Manhattan. I'm from Toledo, Ohio and my partner is from Melbourne, Australia, so we have LOTS of family and friends visiting us all year round who now stay in our rental apartment and use it as their home-away-from-home. Why Sean M Hingston chose Williamsburg

We bought this townhouse in 2010 after living in the middle of Manhattan for 16 years and have fallen in love with our new neighborhood. Our previous neighborhood was very old-school residential with massive apartment buildings, while Williamsburg is filled with 3-story townhouses like ours where the neighbors all sit on the front steps and enjoy the street life. The huge influx of artists and young people who recently 'found' the neighborhood because of it's close proximity to Manhattan and relatively inexpensive housing make for a VERY interesting mix on the street and we love it.

What makes this apartment unique

What's great about staying in Williamsburg is the EASY access to all the major sites around NYC: Union Square Shopping and Farmers' market, Times Square, Broadway, Macy's, the Empire State Building, all the museums, Central Park and the Statue of Liberty. But what's really enjoyable and a real delight are the VERY walkable streets around us packed with both the old-world shops (the perfect cappuccino at Setti Pani Italian bakery), vintage clothing, side-by-side with art galleries, great restaurants, stores and fun finds (graphic comics books from around the world at Sparacino's). Dont leave W'burg without trying Kings Count Chinese just around the corner on Skillman Ave. Extra Queen size inflatable Aero Bed in all apartments.

I have to say that my stay in the Williamsburg apartment exceeded my expectations. The directions and access information which I received by email before arrival were excellent and I had no trouble obtaining the keys. The top floor apartment where I stayed consisted of large lounge/living space, a kitchen and bathroom at the back, a large bedroom at the front of the house with an adjoining smaller bedroom. The photos on the website are good, but it looks even better in reality.



First impressions were great: spotlessly clean, quiet and secure, well organised kitchen, plenty space, hardwood floors. Every piece of equipment and utensils for modern living were available. Cooking utensils, cutlery, good selection of dishes, glasses, pots and pans. Cooker, immaculate fridge, kettle, dining bar, storage space, ironing board and iron - basically a home from home. Soap, shampoo, washing liquid, toilet tissue and other products thoughtfully provided. Electrical equipment, TV/Cable/DVD/WiFi/Vacuum cleaner, all worked perfectly during my month's stay.



Particularly useful was the blow up double bed which I used for guests at one point - very comfortable. (There was plenty extra bedding too) Sean and Brad lived nearby and were easily accessible through email/phone if there was anything needed. They had left a great selection of information on local amenities which was very useful on arrival. The street itself is quiet, tree-lined, 'old-style' Brooklyn. It was my first stay in the Borough and I took to Williamsburg right away.



The Subway is right round the corner barely a minute's walk (ten minutes into Union Square Manhattan), and there is every kind of shop you would need within a stone's throw. The streets between the apartment and the East River contain innumerable bars restaurants and shops of all ethnicities. You will never be bored. I went many long walks exploring the area, day and night, and never had any problems. I would recommend the apartment and loved that part of Brooklyn. Will definitely return soon. PS....Bamonte's restaurant, a few streets away, was a favourite of mine. It was used in 'The Soprano's' ;-)

Terrific location, great amenities

We had a wonderful stay at this spacious, well-equipped apartment. Highlights: 1) there was everything we needed & more in this clean, bright apartment, making our stay very pleasant for a family of 6 (including 3 teens!); 2) thoughtful additions included a seamless way to obtain keys upon arrival, a helpful guide / guest book, and a clean, well-stocked place overall (comfy beds, too!). 3) Best location: very close to subway connections, quirky shops, groceries & good coffee. We’d definitely stay here again, and would recommend it to friends.

Well-located, convenient, comfortable

Generally I thought this was quite a good apartment. It is certainly well-located, close to all sorts of restaurants and coffee shops, and just a hop to the Lorimer Station subway stop. Quiet too, even though the highway is close by. Nice natural light in the bedrooms and in the kitchen and there is a good view of Brooklyn life from the kitchen. The living room has comfortable furniture, and it is fairly well-lit if not just a tiny bit dark. The queen-sized bed was VERY comfortable and the sheets on it were of rather good quality. The bunk bed in the next room (you need to pass through the room with the queen-sized bed to get to this room) was just a bit rickety, so perhaps the upper bunk might be better for a child or someone on the smaller side, especially the upper bunk. The lower bunk was comfortable and fine for an adult, though. I did not love the sheets on the lower bunk, but I am rather a fuss budget about sheets and towels. (Hopefully, you are not. It's a curse!) But whatever..these are such personal matters! It seems my expectations rise as the price rises. I ended up paying about $311/night including the VRBO fee, the cleaning fee, and the taxes. At this price, I start to feel fussy about things like nice sheets and towels. I wouldn't even mention sheets at $200/night, and maybe I might say just a little thing at $250. Anyway, all together, I would say this was a good, comfortable, convenient, serviceable apartment, smack-dab in the middle of things. Oh, yes, checking in and checking out was easy too.

It was not great as a three bedroom. Not really two.

The second bedroom was very small with a bunk bed that was very rickety and the bottom

Bunk was very low. Sleeping on a mat in the living room meant people walked through to get to the bathroom . Also the renter should know it is a third floor walk up which is not mentioned until you book.

Owner's Response: Anyone searching for vacation rentals knows how confusing it can be to hold the details of several potential apartments in one's mind. The headline for this apartment is "Large 2 Bedroom", so I'm not surprised to hear that it's not "great as a 3 Bedroom". We do provide a very comfy queen size Aerobed that sets up effortlessly in the living room should you require more than two bedrooms. Further, until you have signed and returned my contract you are not booked into my apartment. Those are my rules. The contract this guest signed and returned stated in royal blue text, against otherwise black text, the name of the apartment thus: Williamsburg Apt 3Fl. Our home is an 1885 townhouse. So, yes it is two flights of stairs to this apartment. Visitors to NYC should be prepared to walk and be prepared for stairs because they exist wherever you go! Wear comfy shoes. One can only assume that if the lower bunk on a standard bunk bed is too low for this guest's children - please look at the pics, it is solid wood and about 5 years old - that this guest was searching for anything at all to complain about.

Very pleasant stay in Brooklyn.

We had a great stay in the townhouse. It was well equipped and the location was fantastic. Very close to the subway station. A small mix-up upon check-in, but this was rectified as quickly as possible, very good communication with the hosts. Thank you for your hospitality.

We had a wonderful time in Williamsburg. The property was perfect, the location and décor. The owners were accessible and would totally stay there again. We visit NYC twice a year to visit family and can't wait to return.

Best reason to book: This apartment is a 1-minute walk to the L Subway line, which takes you directly into the center of Manhattan, so in 5-7 minutes you'll be in Union Square. And our location is in fabulously hip & hopping Williamsburg, so you get both a small happening neighborhood feel as well as immediate proximity to Manhattan.

McCarren Park is only five blocks away with running track, skateboard park, playground, tennis and lovely grounds for an afternoon stroll and people watching.

24 laundromat is one block away and a dry cleaners is half a block away.

Full grocery store is a 5 minute walk, two small city groceries are a half block away.
