Relax and take pleasure in the awe-inspiring views out of every window throughout the house. It is like you are on top of the world, nestled in the middle of paradise. Local caretaker available to assist with your needs!

The home's amenities include a theatre room (with sattellite television and XBOX); giant chess set; telescope; arts and crafts room; small library stocked with local books; closet filled with board games; and arcade room with television, game table, air hockey, pinball, skee ball, full-sized, upright console that houses classic arcade games and a jacuzzi on the balcony looking out at Whetstone Mountain.

As you drive through the forest and approcah our front porch, your mind will wander as you feel relaxation setting in and visualize yourself on the rocking or swinging chair enjoying the outdoors and local wildlife.

Welcome into our beautiful vacation home via a grand entry with a custom made staircase made from local timbers and antique pieces.

The children's desire is to run to the right of the entry to the Arcade Room. Inside they will find Skee Ball, a pinball machine, air hockey game, game table for poker or other card games, arcade console, television, queen sofa bed and full mini kitchen which includes a refrigerator, sink, plates, glasses, dishwasher and microwave oven. The Arcade Room has its own private balcony and jacuzzi. This authentic game room may be the reason your children ask to keep coming back each year!

If you proceed straight down the hallway from the entry you will encounter the theatre room to the right, the guest room to the left and two children's rooms further ahead.

The Theatre Room allows the whole family to sit together, crank up the sound system and watch movies on DVD, sattellite television, Pay Per View or play with the XBOX or Play Station gaming systems. Another heaven for children.

The guest room contains a queen bed with its own private full bathroom and balcony looking out at Mount Crested Butte.

The two children's rooms are layed out as follows: bedroom 1) has a bunk bed and pull out trendel to sleep three people and a full private bathroom and bedroom 2) has a queen bed with a full private bathroom.

To the left of the entry way you will find a second entry to the house via a mudroom.

The mudroom allows access to the two car heated garage which is big enough to park trailers if desired and a full laundry room that contains storage, a laundry shoot from upstairs, sink, washer and dryer. Outside the laundry room window is a beautiful view of Mount Crested Butte.

Climbing the stairs to the second floor you will see spectacular views from every window. At the top of the stairs, you will enter the Great Room with a large fireplace and panoramic views of the Crested Butte Valley. This Great Room is comparable to what you would find in a 5 star hotel ski lodge.

The Great Room possesses a telescope to enlarge the views or to look to the sky, a large scale chess set overlooking the Skyland area and a stereo system with an Ipod that contains over 10,000 songs. The music system can be played throughout the house and the volume adjusted in each room. Or you may simply cuddle up on the couch, or in a comfy chair, and read a book with a raging fireplace or on the expansive balcony while watching the sun set over the mountains! The room also offers original artwork of the famous American painter Charles Wysocki.

The balcony off the Great Room has a BBQ and picnic table so the family can enjoy a beautiful outdoor dinner or happy hour. At night, you must enjoy the shooting stars that appear right above your head through the telescope or even the naked eye.

Off of the Great Room and to the right at the top of the stairs is the Arts and Crafts Room that can also be used as a fifth bedroom The room has a double bed with a pullout trendel bed, craft table, chairs and lighting to allow one to take pleasure in their hobbies late into the night. The room also has beautiful french doors that open up onto a private balcony looking out at Whetstone Mountain.

At the top of the stairs is the dining area. This oval table allows maximum dialogue by allowing all parties to contribute to the conversation. The table has the capacity for twelve people to enjoy dinner together.

Immediately past the dining area is the gourmet kitchen. This elaborate kitchen was designed for a gourmet chef and maximum efficiency. The kitchen contains a Dacor 6 burner stove, Sub-Zero Refrigerator, two small drink refrigerators, a Dacor oven and convection oven, microwave oven, two dishwashers, two sinks, an island and plenty of counter space. The kitchen is stocked with almost any appliance you would need and is open to the house so the chef does not feel excluded from the rest of the company.

Across from the kitchen is the breakfast nook that seats 6.

The master bedroom has breathtaking views through each window and is a true romantic retreat! The room offers a king size bed; fireplace; original artwork of Charles White, french doors opening to a balcony and a master bathrooom with a jacuzzi bath tub, his and her sinks and dual heads in the over sized master shower.

Step outside the home and into the forest to explore the Rocky Mountains!

Why The Owner chose Crested Butte

On a vacation with my wife, we fell in love with the beauty of the mountains of Colorado. We bought a view lot and eventually built our custom dream home.

What makes this estate unique

There is no better family time then the peace and quiet the mountains offer that allow you to focus on outdoor activities, playing games together or enjoying a movie night after a day of skiing, rafting or hiking.

Walk out your front door and into the forest to explore the mountains of Crested Butte.

A secluded 52 acre 5000+ square foot mountain home where you never see your neighbors and have the biggest backyard / playground imaginable as the development backs up against the national forest.

Absolutely stunning!

  • 5 of 5

This home is even more stunningly beautiful in the pictures can possibly show! There are few places that exceed expectations… But this was one of them for us! The views are breast taking… The home is beautifully crafted… And stocked with everything you could possibly want or need! We were fortunate that it did not snow while we were there because we only had 2 Wheel Drive vehicles and did get stuck ones coming up the mountain. So I would highly recommend four-wheel-drive vehicles for winter visits! I hope we have the chance to stay again someday...we all said how much we would love to do so!

Heaven in the Mountains

  • 5 of 5

We have rented luxury homes in the Crested Butte area for 12 or 14 of the last twenty years. This home is by far the best of them all. Completely secluded on a different mountain just northwest of town (15 minute drive into Crested Butte, but only because of the four mile winding trip up the mountain on a perfectly flat, winding, but wide dirt road to the home), but looking directly at Crested Butte as the sun rises just southeast of Crested Butte. The incredibly large picture windows allow a panoramic view of the mountains in the entire area, the large deck is perfect for taking in the air and views, the house is equipped with everything you could want and the rooms are warm and comfortable. A large living area which opens onto the kitchen, dining area, seating area for the kitchen in one seamless open space perfect for hanging out. Just a fantastic getaway spot!!

Amazing house with incredible views

  • 5 of 5

We rented this home for 5 nights-it is truly a gem and I would hightly recommend. Lots of space with a fun game room and movie room on the first floor. This home is in the Trappers Crossing area outside Crested Butte. It sits up high over the town, ( around 10,000 ft). Our famility enjoyed being 15 -20 minutes away from town--this is a very quiet and peaceful location. There is an excellent hike not far from the house..about a mile down the road, that takes you either to town ( about an hour down) or up to a beautiful mountain lake..( about an hour up.) We loved cooking in the well appointed kitchen--everything you need and more. This is a winner and you will not want to leave!

An Amazing House

  • 5 of 5

Five couples stayed at this wonderful place and we all had enough room. The decor and appointments are all first class. The view from the great area is amazing. While it is a little ways out of town, we enjoyed the privacy and as we were outside the town of Crested Butte, were not hit with the 30% (?) lodging tax. Highly recommend this wonderful house!

Amazing experience!

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing weekend at this VRBO. We booked for a bachelorette party and every attendee was in awe over the view and craftsmanship of the home. We enjoyed the great room for board games and girl talk, the huge open kitchen for tapas and wine, and the amazing patio for morning coffee. It was about a 20 minute drive into town, but that didn't bother us. We hiked and mountain biked from town, but it seemed like there was plenty to do on the road to the house. The hot tub was the perfect way to unwind after a day full of activities. There isn't much wifi (especially when the house is full), so plan accordingly and you won't be disappointed! The family seems to take great pride and care in the home and it really shows when you stay there. We hope to be back and really appreciated the hospitality.

If you have ever wondered what it’s like to live like a billionaire then just stay at this magnificent 5,250 square foot luxury mountain home on 52 wooded acres high above Crested Butte. It is located in an exclusive gated subdivision accessed by private road from Colorado Highway 12, part of the West Elk Scenic byway that leads over Kebler Pass to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. My wife and I stayed here one week in June. Of the dozens of properties all over the US we have stayed at, this is our new favorite because of the magnificent mountain views and luxury of the home. The snow covered mountain view from the relaxing hot tub is spectacular after a long day outdoors. The owner Jeff and his caretaker Eric were wonderful and accommodating in every way and the friendliest people you could hope to meet. Although completely private high up in the mountains at 10,000 feet, it is only a few minutes drive down to the town of Crested Butte. Walking distance from the property is the Green Lake hiking and mountain biking trail leading either up to this remote mountain lake in the Gunnison national forest, or down to the town of Crested Butte. We went hiking, jeeping, and mountain biking every day in the surrounding wilderness, and returned to the luxury and seclusion of this mountain home at night. Very highly recommended.
