The Point on Echo Lake

Bedrooms 5
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 - 7 nights

About the property

House, 5 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

Situated on a 1.5 acre peninsula, this 5-bedroom house has breathtaking views from every window. With glass walls on each end of the house, you will be awestruck by the spectacular sunrise over the Swan Mountains from the east and the majestic sunset from the west. The architecture of this home enables you to be a participant in nature, not a spectator.

Newly remodeled with reclaimed barnwood and hand-picked stones, you will not want to leave the property. The kitchen is equipped with custom cabinets, stone counter tops, and the latest appliances. Everyone will enjoy family meals around the hand-made, 9-foot dining table with tree knots still intact. Each bedroom is complete with down-filled pillows, cotton blankets from Germany, and duvet covers. After a restful sleep in the master bedroom, wake to wondrous views of the Swan Mountains and a heated floor in the master bath. And, in case of a rain, the family room is equipped with a 42" flat-screen TV.

Although the amenities will comfort you, this natural backdrop will create memories and experiences of a life time. As the eagles search for their morning breakfast, take the kayaks out and explore the wonders of this gorgeous alpine lake. Afterwards, set your chairs on the dock and swim in the warm, clean, spring-fed waters (no wetsuits required) or bike to Bigfork with horse farms as your guide. As the sun begins to set, light the grill and let the kids try their hands at table tennis or badminton on the grassy, green yard. And if you're here to fish, Echo Lake is known for its Large-Mouth Bass and Northern Pike. If you're an avid hiker, Glacier National Park is 40 scenic miles away; or, hike the Jewel Basin, a local favorite, only 6 miles from the house.

This home can be enjoyed during the winter season too, with downhill and cross-country skiing, ice fishing, and dog sledding nearby.

This house has been a gift to our family, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Thanks for taking a look. We hope to hear from you.

About The Owner

It was love at first site. The moment we saw this property (which was in February 2004), there was no turning back. It is a unique location with views of nature that we have not experienced anywhere else. Living on the East Coast with four children, we are not able to spend our summers here like we did in the past. We hope to share the magic of this property with like-minded people who want their families to re-conncet with each other while experiencing the gift of nature.

The Owner purchased this house in 2004

What makes this house unique

You get the beauty of the mountains and a warm alpine lake with the comforts of fine dining, art, and theater 3 miles away. We also enjoy walking 1.7 miles to Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast along a biking path. This place really has it all.

Absolutely amazing

  • 5 of 5

We had the best time with our family, this home is amazing and the owner is very accommodating. This is a great place to fish, boat and tube the lake is calm and beautiful. It was hard coming home and getting back to reality. Montana is a beautiful state, we had fun in the downtown areas shopping and the restaurants were really good.

So much fun and we will be sharing these memories for a very longtime.

Beautiful Montana lake vacation for family of 6

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful house located on inlet of Echo Lake. Many water activities for the kids including jumping off dock into lake, kayaking, and fishing. Fantastic fire pit for some late night s'mores. Lakeview decks on both sides of the house. Favorite part is probably the "Great Room" that enables the entire family to come together, enjoy family dinners and take in the surrounding views at same time. Great week spent for this active family of 6 to unplug and reconnect as a family.

Idyllic retreat on breathtaking property

  • 5 of 5

We will thrilled to stay at the Point on Echo Lake with our 12 and 10 year old children. The house is beautifully positioned and has spectacular views from both porches. It was hard to decide on which porch to enjoy breakfast or dinner! The home is lovely on the inside as well, attractively decorated, and well furnished. We were happy just to be at the house but also spent time fly fishing, hiking, and enjoying the local food and culture. The owners provided a list of attractions that was very helpful. We absolutely will go back.

This is the 2nd year in a row that we have rented this property and have really enjoyed this home. The home is very spacious and the location is PERFECT. Mr. Gilday has been very pleasant and easy to work with. The house has all the amenities that you could ask for in a rental property. We have been renting for the past 30 years in the Flathead Valley and find this property exceptional. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with our family, Mr. Gilday. We are looking forward to staying here again next year!!!

Couldn't ask for more!

  • 5 of 5

This property exceeded our expectations and provided an ideal setting for our family vacation. The house is exquisite and well-appointed with everything you could possibly need. The property and views are simply amazing! We took full advantage of the kayaks, dock, fire pit, bikes and outdoor living spaces. You don't need to leave this comfortable oasis, but it is worth the short drive to Big Fork or to explore Glacier National Park. Everything we needed (gas, grocery, restaurants) was minutes away. We had a wonderful time and hope to return to this beautiful home!
