About Lisa Martin

My name is Lisa Martin & my husband is Merv.

My husband works for his brother in a tire shop & I am a secretary at a private school nearby.

We both love old log cabins & peaceful settings.

It had been a dream of ours to restore a old log cabin.

We built this cabin to rent out & share with others.

The cabin was orginally from Manhiem. We numbered the logs tore it down & moved them to this property. My husband & son built the cabin & set it back up. Every minute of spare time they had they worked on it. It took around 1 year to complete. We would love you to come & stay!

Lisa Martin purchased this cabin in 2010

Why Lisa Martin chose Narvon

This is an wonderful place to enjoy the woods and nature. It is peaceful & secluded. It is a serene place for a restored old log cabin.

What makes this cabin unique

We enjoy the solitude & wildlife while staying at the cabin. It is a great place to unwind! Enjoy sitting on the rocking chairs on the front porch overlooking the pond. Listen to the birds, watch for the deer, in the spring listen to the peepers.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I lost track of how many times we have been to the cabin. We love it so much! It is so relaxing. I get the best sleep ever! We missed the red cat this time. We didn't see him anywhere. We enjoyed feeding the fish bread & cooked an amazing dinner on the grill! I feel like I'm in heaven here!

Lovely Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We are so happy with our decision to stay in this cabin! My husband and I stayed here for a few days after our wedding, and it was perfect! We loved sitting outside in the big rocking chairs overlooking the pond! The cabin is very clean and feels very cozy. Lisa was extremely accommodating and allowed us to bring our dogs and even drop off a car before check-in time so that we had a way of getting around once we were dropped off at the house after the wedding. We can't wait to return in the future and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

Best cabin ever!

  • 5 of 5

This is my 3rd time here and I plan on many more. I simply love the peace and tranquility this cabin and property bring. I love that we can bring our dog. The hot tub is a real bonus, too. The cabin and all decor are perfect for the time period of the cabin. Love it!

an enjoyable rustic get away!

  • 5 of 5

Really relaxed and enjoyed the serenity of the cabin. Lisa did a great job in making it a comfy and rustic. This was my wife's b-day week and the crackling fireplace suited her perfectly. The weather was chill so we spent a lot of time around the fireplace. The kitchen was well supplied, the bed comfortable, and the hot tub brought us pleasantly out of our "pioneer" reverie. Would gladly stay again.

Terribly Disappointed

  • 1 of 5

We were so READY to go on this short getaway. My boyfriend's mom is not well and we have been under extreme stress. Our backs are bad and both of us couldn't wait to get in the hot tub. The cabin is very nicely decorated and looks great at first glance. The outside is beautiful. Now for the bad. When we went to get in the hot tub, IT WAS FILTHY dirty. There was soap like someone put bubbles in it, the water was gray and there was a ring of dirt on the inside rim in the tub. We called Lisa and she did not answer, she only text and gave us the lame excuse that it was a different cleaning lady. She could not fix it because it needed completely drained. We were so disappointed, this is why we went. Hanging from the loft beams was a fly strip that was filled with flies RIGHT OVER THE STOVE. There have not been flies in this area since last summer so they never changed it after the season. We actually saw some that had dropped. When we climbed up into the loft, which is unsafe for children by the way, there were, no lie, around 500 or more dead flies in the windowsill. There were no linens on the beds. Several light bulbs were out or not there at all. The socket in the kitchen didn't work so we had to make toast in the living area. The toaster is a fire hazard, even on the lowest setting it got extremely hot and burned the toast, we had to manually get the toast out. By the way, with that in mind and with a fireplace, there was no smoke alarm or fire extinguisher. If you want to make a good meal, bring your own frying pan because the one there is extremely small. Also, there was no outside trash can so we had to put the trash on the porch. Thank God the weather was unsuitable to go outside on the porch or we would have had to sit next to trash. Or, an animal could have gotten into in and we would have spent our time cleaning up trash. Lisa never called us or came by, just corresponded by text. How in the world this place got 168 five stars is beyond me. We have pictures of it all. Lisa told us we could leave and she would reimburse us, but we had no where to go or extra money at that time. To top it all off, she only gave us one night's rent reimbursement when we stayed three nights. I don't know what happened, but obviously, this rental is not maintained the way it used to be.

Owner's Response: Our apologies for how the weekend went! Our cleaning lady had overlooked the hot tub & felt terrible! No excuses! Because of that we refunded them one night. We all make mistakes & it won't happen again! The electrical problem was fixed - the GFI needed to be reset. We also have purchased a new toaster. We strive to please our guests & make it the best relaxing getaway for you! If our guests have a problem we will do our best to call you but if not possible we definitely will text you back! Thanks!

Location

There are 3 mailboxes at the end of the driveway. The one mailbox has a green 1070 sign on it. Come back the lane until you get to the y & stay right into the cabin parking lot on the right side of the driveway (after the split rail fence)
