The view is the best, the beach has a charm of its own, and the 3 minute swim to the reef is a treasure.
I'm a landscape designer living and working near Cape Cod. My parents owned this property for 30+ years. They loved the place & the people - both Jamaican and expats. We have carried on some of those old friendships and created new ones so that our time there is spent living less like a tourist and more like a Jamaican.
Susannah Davis purchased this apartment in 2008
The view is spectacular, the community is safe, and the proximity to the White River and local attractions makes it convenient to get out and about or relax with the view.
The view, the staff, the beach and the reef. I hope you'll have the same ahha moment I have whenever I walk in and open the patio doors. There's nothing like it to wind down, relax, and recharge.
We were very happy that we rented this condo Susannah! We had Mavis cook 2 times for us and they were by far the best meals of the trip! Red Snapper one night and the guys wanted pork the next night. My friend is a vegetarian and Mavis made sure she had plenty to choose from also! We had rented a car so and had traveled alot so we didn't want to venture off but I am sure that Mr Nelson would have been wonderful to have! He was fun just chatting with and Mavis sure keeps him in line. They are truly remarkable people and great to talk with!
The condo was very comfortable and has everything you need. The view? just suffice it to say, AWESOME!
Thank you for being so accommodating and could you please move here Mavis? LOL!
If one is wanting to travel to a country to feel the heart of the country then this location is the place. My traveling companion and I wanted to be among the people of Jamaica not with other tourists and our wish was delivered. We had a small beach to swim everyday, we had a reef within distance to snorkel and we had locals at our fingertips to give us knowledge and tips for getting about. We were living among the peoples of Jamaica and never felt threatened at anytime. We walked into town and mingled with the people and we felt the heart beat of Jamaica. The Nelsons were great guides and even though we are in our mid 60's we felt like our mother was right there with us in Ms Mavis. We asked her to prepare a meal one night and it was amazing = traditional Jamaican. They took us on a road trip one day up to Murphys Hill we got to see the countryside (mountains) of Jamaica. LOVE JAMAICA and loved the Condo for its spaciousness, view and closeness to the water. The sunrises are magnificent from the balcony. Would do a repeat
I had a wonder time for the few days I was in Ocho Rios. It was peaceful relaxing and fun to have a peace of mind away from work. I recommend all who work hard to take this trip and have fun too.
Everything was perfect and great! We enjoyed everything. The apartment is fantastic and the location also!
We just returned from a 5 night stay at Ocho Rios condo by the sea. If you are going to Ocho Rios, it's a wonderful place to stay; it isn't going to be featured in Architectural Digest any time soon, but the bathroom has been refurbished, shower is great, king bed is new, and the view... well, the view is perfection. I loved the sound of the waves crashing on the rocks so much, I made a recording of it for my life in a landlocked state!
The beach really is just steps away and the surf is calm and clean. There are restaurants within easy walking distance and there are some restaurants on the other side of town that will send a car out for free to pick you up, so a car is not needed.
We opted for Mr. Nelson to pick us up at the airport and that worked out well. We picked up breakfast and lunch food at the market in town and spent a lot of time on the porch. The wifi, local phone and cable tv were very nice to have. Miss Mavis cooked us a wonderful meal which was more like 2 1/2 meals, so don't wait until your last night to have her do it. She and her husband and a wonderful couple and so helpful. It's all so much more than the minimum security prisons - ur, I mean the all-inclusive resorts can offer you! ;->
This condo is very nice, spacious, clean and in a quiet location. I was in Jamaica for 4 days and very busy. I wish i had more time to enjoy this great apartment. For a peaceful, relaxing get away with breath taken views, this is a great place.
We are close to Dunn's River Fall's, The Blue Hole, and other famous spots as well as some not so famous off the beaten path treasures.
