About Lorie Grundy

Paul and I both grew up on the prairies but love to escape to the mountains to ski whenever we can. Our four daughters are avid skiers and Panorama ski resort has been our favourite for many years.

This home was originally built by Olympian Becky Scott (cross country skiing) because of its proximity to some of the most extensive and beautiful groomed ski trails anywhere to be found. Since buying this property in 2008, our family has come to enjoy Panorama year round with all it has to offer

Lorie Grundy purchased this chalet in 2008

Why Lorie Grundy chose Forest Ridge Estates

A home away from home. Well equipped, comfortable, and lovely. Quiet surroundings away from the bustle of the main village crowds but close enough to walk down for dinner or to the pools. We take great pride in our home and equip the house with our guests in mind.

What makes this chalet unique

We have installed a stair lift, shower seat, toilet rails to enable elderly or handicapped/wheelchair visitors access the house with ease.

Travel cot and high chair for small ones.

Absolutely a 5 star stay!

  • 5 of 5

This is our second stay at Lorie’s PAnorama home and we loved it as much as the first time. The house easily accommodated two families with two sets of teenagers with lots of areas of hang out. The home is spotless, the beds are comfortable, the towels are nice, lots of amenities in the kitchen and even a selection of coffees, teas, hot chocolate for the mornings. THe hot tub was well used after a day of amazing skiing. Lorie was easy to communicate with and helpful when needed for questions. We will definitely come back!

Excellent property

  • 5 of 5

The descriptions were very accurate. The property is an exelent condition with lots of room. Would be nice to have a bigger hot tub though. There were 3 families with kids and it was enough room for everybody. Loved that the kids had their own room in the basement. Would love to go back!

Spacious, beautiful decor, comfortable

  • 5 of 5

Located in a quiet cul-de-sac close to the Sunbird Chairlift this home had everything we needed to enjoy our stay including extras such as several small appliances, spice rack, a bathroom for every bedroom, and games to play. I will certainly choose this house for our next ski vacation.

Ideal for multiple couples and kids!

  • 5 of 5

We just got back from Panorama and can't say enough good things about this house! It had a perfect layout for our group of 10 (one couple with one kid, one couple with 2 kids, one child-free couple and one single). Everyone had their own bathroom and the beds/bedding were amazing. The hot tub was great after a long day of skiing. It is a round tub, but fit us in two shifts of 5 each! There should probably be a more absorbable mat near the door outside to the hot tub, but we did our best to put a towel down and not to drip much as we came in to dry off. You just need to be careful so you don't wreck the beautiful hardwood floors.

This house was very clean, and had everything we needed to do all of our own meals there. Thanks for having a few extras like cooking oil, spices, etc. It would have been nice to have had a few empty cupboards in which to store our dry goods (chips, cereal, etc), but obviously there was no room for that because each cupboard was super organised with every dish, utensil, and pot/pan you could ever need for cooking/meal prep! We made due by keeping our bins/bags of stuff off to the side in the dining room, or in our rooms, and it would definitely not deter us from renting it again.

Future renters should note that you can buy your lift tickets (or send your spouse lol) at the main village for each day or a number of days at a time, then just park at the golf course parking lot which is just a few minute drive from the house (there's also a ticket machine there but we heard it sometimes is not working). From there, it's a short walk/ski to the Sunbird Chairlift (seemed a bit longer on the way back, towing a 6 year old on skis, though, lol). This avoids the crowds and parking issues at the village and was well worth it to not have to drag the kids around the village area, parking, and getting tickets/gear organized.

Lorie was great to deal with. Very clear instructions/directions, and easy to contact if needed. They have maps and trail books in the house, as well as binoculars for watching nature. We saw rabbits and squirrels, as well as a Marten out the back window while we were there! I bet this place is also amazing in the summer. The kids loved the mini pool table, and the little table hockey game. Okay, the adults did, too! Thanks for the amazing stay. We will try and come back again sometime.

We live in the residential end of the resort. For this reason, out of respect for our neighbours (and our home) we can not rent to large or small loud rowdy groups of partiers, stags/stagettes, wedding guests. Having said that, our home is perfect for those who like to play hard all day and relax in the evening.
