This 2300 square foot, 4 bedroom, 2 bath distinctive vacation home is truly the most luxurious, safe and comfortable home in historic Old Bisbee. There are 3 large queen bedrooms downstairs, each with french doors leading to multiple patios and gardens. Upstairs is a king bed suite with a loft, private balcony and bathroom. Customers often remark on how comfortable the beds are. Please note this home is not recommended for anyone having trouble climbing stairs. Private parking for 3 cars is ABOVE the house, and it is a narrow road to get here. From the parking lot, you must walk down stone steps with plenty of landings and railings. Alternatively, you can park on the main street and walk up stairs. Although not downtown, the house is only a 10 minute walk to several restaurants, such as the High Desert Market. The house features vaulted pine ceilings, custom pine cabinets and trim, giving it a warm 'cabin' feel. Flat screen TV's are in all bedrooms and the living room. The home has central heat and air conditioning, ceiling fans, a gas fireplace and free WiFi. Fine art by local artisans can be enjoyed in every room. Professionally decorated, having an Asian theme of wood and earth tones, pottery, and also featuring many items from Japan. Be amazed by one of a kind wrought iron sculptures all over the property, featuring multiple dragons, the lady taming the serpent and a life sized dragon gate. Enjoy cooking and entertaining in the open living area seating up to 19 people. Outside is a 2 person hot tub from which you can marvel at the breathtaking view of colorful houses stacked along the mountainside or gaze deeply into the stars at night. Pricing is based by the number of people staying. Base price includes he first 2 people, then $25 per night per extra guest over 6 years old. Travel light, I stock everything you'll need except your food and clothes, including bottled water, spices, tea/coffee, condiments and basic pantry items like flour and cooking oils, also cleaning supplies, paper towels, napkins, garbage bags. A large, fully equipped kitchen includes sharp knives, gourmet cookware, slow cooker, formal and informal dishes and glassware. Luxury linens, towels and spa robes are provided. Hiking paths are nearby, but just walking the multiple staircases in the area is the best way to see this historic town, built long before cars were invented. Well behaved children and dogs are welcome.
It is my long wished-for delight to share my Bisbee home with you and your family or friends. After 30+ years of renovations and reliance on many Bisbee artisans, the Dragonview is now ready for you to enjoy too. I hope you appreciate this unique town and renew your spirit in these magical mountains. Murray and I live in the cottage, located at the far end of the property, so we are available to assist you if needed. I currently also work in Bisbee as a Community Development Program Manager for a 4 County area. I grew up in Canada, and moved to Bisbee in 1979. Later, I lived in Japan for 4 years, and was born in the year of the Dragon, hence my fascination with the creatures. The Dragon has many different meanings, but I like to think it will bring good luck to you! Be sure to take a picture with the life size Dragon Gate. I look forward to meeting you! Thank you for your patronage.
Bonnie Williams purchased this house in 1979
While still living in Canada, one day I looked at a map of Arizona, saw the name 'Bisbee' and suddenly 'knew' I was going to live there someday. I fell in love with it the first time I saw it, as many other residents and visitors have. The weather is near perfect, not too hot, not too cold, and the history of the area is fascinating. I love the sky, the stars, the mountain views and the warm people of this community.
There are few quaint and historic towns in Arizona, and Bisbee is the best. Slip back in time while enjoying modern amenities and inspiring views from this large and luxurious mountain home. It was half the size and quite a mess when I first bought it. It has been my 'art project' and a real learning experience, something like the old movie 'Money Pit'. The fantastic views and large yard were always there but I totally rebuilt the house, including pine wood ceilings and cabinets, stone walls and staircases, and the remarkable iron work all over the property.
The Dragonview is the gem of Bisbee. My seven and four year old children said they felt like this was their home! It has wonderful porches off each bedroom, comfy beds, hotel pillows, cushy towels, and SPACE - something you will be hard-pressed to find elsewhere in this quirky town. It is an easy, engaging walk from the downtown area, which affords additional privacy and quiet you won’t find easily. There are spices, condiments, and even water bottles in the large kitchen! Additionally, the home owner is a kind soul; not only did she offer socializing if we wanted (we were sadly too busy with a wedding - I would have loved to ask her all about life in Bisbee!), but she also went the extra mile and sent my son’s forgotten lovey back to us! This is one of the few multiple-bedroom homes available in Bisbee, so plan ahead and book this memory-maker for your stay!
Five Star Quality the beds were fantastic the robes in each closet were great touch Bonnie and Murray were great hosts we loved it this is an excellent place to stay great location to Historic downtown Bisbee and enjoying the staircases that Bisbee has to offer
Great house within walking distance to town. Great views, cool location, friendly owners. Huge kitchen is fully equipped, everything was very clean and comfortable. The driveway is definitely narrow but fit our Ford Explorer. Great visit to Bisbee
very neat, clean and comfortable home with lots of light and open space. wonderful kitchen that is well maintained and supplied. hope to return to Dragonview and Bisbee again.
We absolutely loved this home. Beautiful, comfortable, charming.
We had a great time, felt right at home. Thanks for a wonderful weekend.
Bisbee is primarily a walking town due to the many public staircases constructed over mule trails by the WPA in the 1930’s that are a must to explore. See the many unique and unusual hillside houses and gardens not visible from the streets.
While visiting, it is recommended to take in the Queen Mine Tour, Old Bisbee Ghost Tour, Smithsonian affiliated Bisbee Mining & Historical Museum, numerous art galleries, antique stores and many fine dining restaurants during your stay.
Bisbee is also centrally located for day trips to Tombstone, Kartchner Caverns State Park, and Chiricahua National Monument Wonderland of Rocks. Great birding opportunities are available on the property, at the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area, Whitewater Draw Wildlife Area and other nearby scenic locations.
