About the property

4 bedrooms,1.5 baths accomodates eight adults, one or two infants

The Villa at Eastie overlooks the harbor and shipping channels, early morning lobstermen can be seen from the sunroom hauling their traps, as well as the ships coming to port. Plane bugs (id book) will love the spectacular view of Logan Int. Airport. At the end of the street is Constitution Beach. There are bicycles and kayaks for the adventurous or relax in the fountain garden. Smell the sea breeze and reminisce about the politics that must have been discussed in this former Senators home. Entertain in the formal dining room under the crystal chandelier or relax and read a book on one of the balconies overlooking the harbor. The Blue line(public trans) is only a few blocks away and offers a ride to the airport station and free shuttle bus to your terminal, a few more stops and you are downtown for world class shopping, restaurants, museums and the Swan boats ride. Arrange for a daylong antique 'pickers' tour and our driver will take you to the hidden spots where only the dealers buy.

Why Nelson Emmons chose East Boston

We are close to all that Boston has to offer, either by car or public transportation.

What makes this villa unique

The sheer size and location on Boston Harbor was one of the most attractive features that lured us to purchase the Villa. It's ease to public transportation connecting all the city has to offer without the need of a car, was a real game changer. The view from the sun porch and in the summer months having a glass of wine on the upper balcony is delightful while watching the planes come and go. It is similar to an orchestrated symphony.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Madeline and Nelson:

It certainly has been a whirlwind since we returned from Boston and I

apologize for the delay in getting this out to you.

Thank you very much for opening your home to all of us. We had a most

enjoyable time. Your home is comfortable and so lovely and charming. We

enjoyed every aspect of your house and we met some of your neighbours who

are equally as nice and as friendly.

Going back to Boston and the Cape was reliving my childhood and one that

was both refreshing and sad at the same time. Progress has certainly taken

over and a lot has changed.....thank goodness the character of the City and

the people have remained the same.....just as friendly and charming as ever.

I never thought the road to the Cape would ever be complete. When I was

growing up it was the worst road in the world. What a wonderful change

seeing the road complete. The ride we had was wonderful, no traffic and

smooth sailing all the way. The T has improved as well and we used it a

lot. Downtown Crossing has a new grocery store called Roche

Bros.....fantastic place. We shopped there quite a bit. Their produce was

amazing as was their Butcher Shop......the desserts, we could eat them but

preferred the North End for that....the walk justified all the Italian

pastry!

We cooked in two nights and had so much fun with that. I have always

wanted a gas cook top and finally had the chance to use one. We set the

smoke alarm off and you should have seen us. We didn't know if you were

hard wired to the Fire Hall......thank goodness you were not. We laughed

so hard we cried. Six grown adults fanning the smoke (very minimal, I was

doing a chicken stir fry and accidentally put in olive oil vs

peanut...olive oil does not like high heat) when we all decided to open the

windows......we are still laughing about that today. The Fire Department

did not come, the house is still standing, we had a good laugh and we had a

great dinner that night...all is well with the world.

Your paintings are spectacular, the decor was perfect, your neighbourhood

was so friendly and welcoming. The planes captivated us every night and

during breakfast every morning.....we miss them but did get educated in the

flight path of Logan International.

We managed to walk the entire Freedom Trail, tour Cambridge, go into Mass

General and the museum to visit my cousins, take in a game at Fenway and

tour all the Cape along with Plymouth. We walked about 10 miles a day

Beautiful home!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Villa at Eastie for a long weekend/mini family vacation. The owners were very accommodating when our arrival was later than usual check-in. It is a beautiful home with well-appointed, comfortable rooms. They think of little extras like info on local restaurants , lots of games and DVDs, and binoculars to view the arrivals and departures at Logan airport located just across the bay. Although close to the airport, the planes are not very loud and not disturbing for sleeping or relaxing. A few short blocks to the Blue T subway makes downtown Boston easily accessible in only a few minutes. (Save the driving hassle and parking expense and take the subway!) Thanks for sharing your home for a lovely weekend!

House Full of Character!

  • 5 of 5

We had an awesome stay at the villa!! Seven girls in one house and we were able to sleep comfortably and had everything we needed. The house is located in such a great spot to be able to get to the city. We also loved being close to the airport, that helped a lot for girls that were coming in to town at different times. Nelson was so helpful and responded quickly if we had questions. The city is amazing and we made so many fun memories! We would definitely stay again! Babes in Boston was a very successful trip!!

Wonderful stay at the Harborfront Villa!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay! The house is clean and beautiful. It’s a short walk to the train station and a close commute right into Boston. We loved being by the water and so close to the airport that we could watch the airplanes. There were beautiful views from the sunroom and off the balcony. We spent an afternoon at the beach, which we were also able to walk to. The kitchen was well-stocked and the furnishings were very nice. We loved the close proximity to anything we needed. We ate at a delicious, fresh seafood restaurant that was right in the area. Nelson was really accommodating and even met us over at the house to check in at a very late hour. It was a very fun stay and we would return there in a heartbeat!

Lovely weekend. It felt like a home away from home.

  • 4 of 5

We had a very nice 3 nights in the villa. It was very homey. My first thought was that I couldn't go a long weekend without a TV in the downstairs, but with the view of the airport we didn't miss TV.

The home has some unique artwork as well.

Our only suggestion would be that they should put a shower curtain in the bathroom.

Our family cannot thank you enough for the use of your home and it's warmth that surrounded us. The paintings within, the planes, the weather. The skyline, and all that is Boston made this one of our favorites! The Remons
