About this property

Sunset Chalet - 2600 sq.ft. Multi-Seasonal retreat only15 minutes from Ashland !

Sunset Chalet is nestled in the Cascade Mountains at 4000' elevation. Fantastic views overlooking Siskiyou Mtns, Klamath Mtns, Colestine Valley and Mt. Ashland. Awesome sunsets!
Perfect for hikers (5 minutes from Pacific Crest Trail and Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument/ Pilot Rock), bikers (dozens of trails from Mt. Ashland down to city of Ashland), skiers (Mt. Ashland Lodge is 15 minutes away), rafters (Klamath River put-in is 30 minutes south) and Shakespearean types who prefer privacy with a view! 15 minutes from Ashland down the I-5 Siskiyou Summit.
Chalet has 1000 sq. ft. deck and is located in the Cascade Mountains and built so as not to change the natural surroundings.

Why the Owner Chose Ashland: This property has been a dream project. I purchased the bare land in 2007 and began construction in the Fall of that year. The Chalet was completed in February 2009. As with all new construction on acreage, the little projects are constantly ongoing! Owner lives on the property, but away from guests for their privacy.

If visiting in Winter months (and possibly Spring and Fall), it is advisable to drive a 4-wheel drive vehicle equipped with tire chains. Although 4-wheel drive is not usually necessary, Mother Nature has surprised us with moderate to heavy accumulations of snow.

The Unique Benefits of this Chalet: If you want peace and quiet with a spectacular view, then this is the place for you! Perfect for family gatherings while only 15 minutes to Ashland traveling North on I-5.

OSF Weekend
In Ashland for a couple of OSF shows, we chose to stay a bit out of town in a beautiful house with an excellent view. The house suits three couples just fine with room for more. Bought groceries and made meals at the house in the well stocked and roomy kitchen. We'll be back! : )

Great place for a getaway!
Perfect location as Ashland was a great half way meeting point for us in the SF Bay Area and family from Washington State. All the amenities made it a good home away from home.

Why they chose this property

This property has been a dream project. I purchased the bare land in 2007 and began construction in the Fall of that year. The Chalet was completed in February 2009. As with all properties on country acreage, the little projects are constantly ongoing!

What makes this property unique

The Colestine Valley has its own unique physical climate. It may be raining in the Rogue Valley and the sun will be shining in the Colestine Valley.
Additionally, many people do not know that there is a large Buddhist Temple below the chalet in the valley. I always recommend to visitors to visit the temple for a half day trip. It is 3 miles down Colestine Rd. off the Mt. Ashland access road. Owner occupies a separate part of the property for your privacy.
Take the time to clear your mind and tune in to the positive energy of the valley.
