About the property

2 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom with Lake Views (Sleeps 6)

Come and experience the magnificent magic of a waterfront cabin with your own dock right in the Western North Carolina's Smoky Mountains! The southern exposure will ensure bright warm sunny days and a beautiful view of the sunset in the evenings. The lake has numerous waterfalls and you can rent different watercraft at a marina nearby to explore the lake or enjoy different water sports.

Visit the traditional, quaint nearby towns of Highlands and Cashiers while staying on the lake. Lake Glenville at 3800 feet elevation has 26 miles of shoreline, is 4.5 miles long and over 1,460 acres is spring fed by 5 mountain streams. You can enjoy the refreshing 72 degree water while jet skiing, tubing, fishing and boating. The glistening shoreline of Lake Glenville has waterfalls, a Christmas tree farm, and beautiful picturesque homes.

This waterfront, A-frame vacation cabin has the master bedroom (with a extremely comfortable king size bed) and bath downstairs. Upstairs in the oversized loft are 4 twin beds, (includes a pull out trundle) and a full second private bath.

You can take your steaming, hot coffee outside in the screened-in porch to curl up with a good book or go out on the large, adjacent deck to enjoy the view. The cabin has a fireplace, wireless internet, Direct TV and all the amenities of home.

The dock will provide hours of entertainment. You can bring your own boat or rent one from the nearby marina and step right from your dock onto your boat. The are jet ski davits to hook up your jetski. We even provide two kayaks on the dock for your use.

Great place, great fun!

  • 5 of 5

If you want a really fun place to stay in beautiful surroundings, this cabin IS IT!

We had an absolute blast, messing around on the lake kayak's on Thanksgiving - I even took a swim - then dried out sitting by the log fire with a whisky (or two!). There are some amazing hikes nearby, and Highlands is a really cool place to visit. I can only imagine how this place will really come into it's own during the summer, especially as an escape from the Atlanta heat!

Wonderful location, beautiful house

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at this home on Glenville Lake could not have been better. The house is clean and comfortable and has a well-stocked kitchen. The view of the lake spectacular; because you are high up (the famous 155 steps) you feel you are in the trees. The two kayaks are a plus. We will definitely return. PS--we were lucky to see the 8/21/17 full eclipse from the dock.

Perfectly suited accommodation for the surrounding area. The bbqs needed a good clean, but everything else was as described and user friendly.

Very cozey cabin! Perfect for rest and relaxation.

  • 3 of 5

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. While we loved the cozey feel of the lake cabin and the spacious deck and screened in porch of the master bedroom. There were a few downfalls. First and foremost the cabin overall was clean and tighty. As we got there the cleaning person was actually leaving and upon entering we could tell she did a thorough job. The bad thing is after we woke up on the 2nd day we discovered there were bed bugs and we had bites on our bodies from them. Next, minor issue, there are 179 steps from the house to the dock and if you are not in fair shape I do not recommend attempting to go up and down these steps as they are steep (One of my friends actually fell down the last 3 steps). Lastly, minor issue again but there is a quite a bit of boat traffic in front of the dock which causes a lot of wake and often. Don't get me wrong, we really liked the place and would gave it 5 stars if not for these 3 issues, primarily the bed bugs.

Owner's Response: Your comment of bed bugs was very concerning to us and disappointing. We have the house professionally serviced by Terminix on a regular basis and contacted them immediately about your comment. They found no evidence of bed bugs and treated the house regardless. We have been renting the house for years and never had a claim like this. I think you probably got bites from something else from the outside. The area is known to have chigger bugs in the woods therefore it is possible that is what you experienced. In addition, yes there are steps leading to the dock. It is very difficult to find a flat area in the mountains. Also, the boat traffic is obviously out of my control but only is busy during the weekend. Thanks for you stay.

Loved it!!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was perfect for our family vacation to the mountains. The cabin had everything we needed. EVERYTHING! Only thing we brought was our clothes. There wasn't plenty of toilet paper, paper towels, some spices, and laundry detergent. Kitchen was well stocked.

The lake view was so nice to look at from the deck. Now the walk to the lake was downhill with a lot of steps. Which means the walk back up was a workout. The deck has a table with four chairs, two lounge chairs, two kayaks with flotation devices.

We had six and fit comfortably. The kids(all teens) slept in the loft and had their own bathroom. The king size bed in the master bedroom was heavenly.

We ate dinner and breakfast in the screened in porch just about everyday.

Absolutely loved our week here!

This property is in a lovely small neighborhood right on the lake with its own very large dock extending right into the lake. Bring your own boat and tie it up on your own dock. It is also easy access into town, approximately 6 miles from crossroad in downtown Cashiers.
