About Robert Dragotta
I am originally from Cumberland County and have ancestors that settled here as early as 1750. For years I have commuted to Manhattan weekly for business, and only in the last 10 years have I opened my home to guests. Through various endeavors, I have developed global friendships and many of my friends have stayed with me on the estate.
Robert Dragotta purchased this Estate in 1999
What makes this Estate unique
The location is very unique. I can walk to grocery stores, fast food and some wonderful restaurants, dry cleaners, and downtown shops. I can be in Philadelphia in 35 minutes...(My driving I admit) and I can be in NYC often within 2 hours with no traffic. 2.5-3 with traffic or if I use NJ transit. The town is wonderful and we have a lovely small zoo, a small splash park for young children. It is very close to the Jersey shore...I can be on the beach within 40 minutes, The AC airport is an easy jaunt and there is the Millville Municipal airport for private planes, that is 10 min from the estate...Obviously being on a private lake is incredible and I enjoy listening to the cascading waterfalls from the master suite. Other advantages are the historic places to tour, the many fine restaurants with fresh seafood, the river exploration on both the Cohansey and Maurice Rivers, and the very diverse population. Very much like Manhattan, I can have excellent Mexican, Italian, Puerto Rican, Chinese, Greek and of course great burgers all within 15 min from the Estate. Oh and there are over 10 wonderful wineries within 20 miles. I've often set up tastings for guests.....As you can tell I love living here. So much less ostentatious than the Hamptons....sorry New York. It is also a hidden treasure for artists and I am on the board of the Bay Atlantic Symphony that has a season here in Cumberland County and the Renaissance Center for Arts in Millville.

We had a truly magical wedding on this property. We also stayed there with our wedding party. We had a really relaxing time there and everything came out perfect. The grounds were flawless! The owner made it really easy to find vendors and set them up at the property. He also helped with decor which was really nice.
Further, there were a lot of great photo opportunities. During the wedding itself many of our guests hung out on the dock and just relaxed. The space gave people the option to just sit and talk instead of dance/listen to music.
Thank you so much for helping us have a magical wedding!
Thank you Abigail and Andre. It was wonderful to have you and meet your family and friends.
Very pretty, spacious, and kind owner
I stayed in this house with a group of university friends and we really enjoyed the experience. The owner is very kind and showed us around, the house has a piano which sounds awesome, and has more than enough space for any group. We really liked the outdoors too, with the dock + kayaks combo being a main attraction for the house. The house is also located within 5 minutes to a bunch of grocery shopping & fast food options, which is convenient for a large group. There are some beaches relatively close by but the best beaches in the area (aka the Shore) is an hour away. Well worth doing a day trip to.
A very relaxing setting in a beautiful old home along the lake where our 3-generation family enjoyed
Loved the old house and the grounds, but especially down at the lake where we could relax, talk, read, and watch the grandchildren play in the sand, fish, boat, kayak, and canoe! Weather was perfect for us as well! Setting and site was just what we needed for a four-family vacation! Thanks!!
We stayed a week with all our kids and gdkds....the house is amazing. such beautiful decor and ambiance. robert the owner is amazing, always helpful any time. this is a great place to spend time with your family and enjoy the charms of the house itself.such granduer
Excellent Property - Fantastic Owner - Wonderful Memories
Robert (the owner) was a pleasure to work with, he quickly answered all my questions and even sent me more pictures of the house and property at my request. He welcomed us at check in and gave us a tour of the house along with a brief history of it’s interesting past. You will want the tour in order to properly know where everything is and how the house works ect... Keep in mind my stay was for a New Years retreat with close friends so in the freezing cold we did not get to fully enjoy the amazing grounds but I could image just how great that would be in the summer. The actual house has everything you could need for a stay with plenty of room if you want to tuck away to read or get any work done. This house really has character and feels Gatsby Esque with the large stair case and formal dining area. All of the bedrooms were reported to have comfortable beds and ample room. The house is very warm and inviting making you feel comfortable and at home quickly. I would recommend this property to anyone and I would love to go back in the summer to take advantage of the lake.
Perfect for us
The property was perfect for us and our event. We had a Gothic inspired Halloween/Anniversary party and this location was exactly what I was looking for. We had a bunch of family coming in from out of town. This location allowed us all to stay in the same location and still have plenty of room for everyone. Plus we even had some extra space if any of our party guests over indulged. Our guests were amazed by the property, the beautiful garden, the lake, the 'moat', the house that seemed to go on and on. And with the appropriate set dressing, it made the perfect location for our 'haunted mansion'. Yes, the house could use some updates, especially in the baths and kitchen, but honestly those were truly minor concerns for us. Overall, I don't think I could have found a better venue for our event. Robert, the owner, was great to work with and I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a really special venue for their event.
