Five year old vacation home in a fabulous location just a few minutes walk to downtown St. Johns. Magnificent walking trails right at your doorstep. Large deck with great views for entertaining. 2 Bedrooms, each with Queen bed and ensuite bathroom. Very comfortable Queen sofa bed suitable for another couple in the main living area. Third bathroom complete with oversized shower on the main floor.

Beautiful location and great people
Great music and entertainment in the downtown pubs, great dinner parties on our deck.
We had a great time visiting this house for a week in August, along with our 2 young boys and my mother. The house is modern, clean and beautiful, and fully stocked with much of what you will need to be comfortable. We hope to visit again in 2 years.
We have rented many places through VRBO over the years and this harbour home has jumped to the top of our list as the place to stay for a memorable vacation. Although we rented in March 2017 to attend the Tim Horton's Brier, the unit was warm and welcoming with all the bells and whistles of a high end home. The home layout is spectacular with the bedrooms located on the bottom of the two-story unit and the living area above. The home front is constructed with windows end to end with spectacular views of the harbour. Watching the ships come and go within the harbour is a sight you will never forget and you might think that the water traffic would create noise, but the home is so well insulated that with the exception of a faint echo of the fog horn, there is complete privacy. The unit is beyond well equipped with loads of dishes, cookware, linens and cleaning supplies including recycling bags and dishwasher soap and laundry detergent. The home is very clean and decorated in an eye-pleasing combination of neutral wall colour and expressive art. The book shelves are loaded with current bestsellers as well as binoculars, puzzles and games. The owners have a binder available with all the details and directions and if there was any information missing, Mike would respond within minutes to the questions that we sent him via text. During our stay, the area was hit by a category 2 hurricane with sustained winds in excess of 150 km, and the home remained stable and we did not feel vulnerable in the least. The only downside is that this unit is unsuitable for people with severe mobility issues as the staircase from the parking area to the home is slippery during winter weather and caution must be observed especially at night. If you are a cat lover, there are also neighourhood kitties that look for attention on your way up and down the stairs and make a good excuse to stop and catch your breath! The home is very spacious and with the bedrooms on a different level, you can take the time to relax away from those travelling with you should you wish. There is also a very spacious and beautiful deck that we did enjoy the day prior to the wind storm. We hated to leave this special place and we will always covet the memories made at "The Watchman's House". Do not hesitate to rent this unit as you will not be disappointed!
We (two couples) enjoyed a beautiful view of the Narrows, the City and the Ocean. We loved the easy access to trails, the downtown district, numerous historic sites and tourist attractions, as well as the relatively short distance to Bay Bulls for an amazing ecological boat tour. Most are within walking distance. Nearby restaurants are abundant. Not one disappointed.
The accommodations are new, clean, and have all the modern amenities you could want or need. This is an exceptional property and well looked after.
Our trip to Newfoundland and to this cottage was one of the most pleasurable and memorable we have had. We highly recommend it. Would love to come back with our kids.

Our week's stay was fabulous! Even more beautiful than the pictures which is hard to believe! Super clean with all the comforts of home with a fabulous view. The deck was an awesome place to relax and habor watch after a day of touring the sites.
All new with a great kitchen and the BBQ was a bonus. Comfortable beds and washrooms all super clean. We got our laundry all caught before leaving!
A park and walk - no drive up ability to unload so not for anyone with a difficulty maneuvering. However, this is also part of the charm as the house and view are well worth the walk ( which is not that far).
Located on the base of Signal Hill, the paths to hike the hill are at the doorstep. Downtown is a close -less than 2km to centre city. Walkable and a quick drive.
Owners were great - accessible for any questions we had while on site. Would highly recommend this spot.
We and our children loved watching the boats going in and out of St. John's from this amazing home. We even spotted a rare couple of whales one afternoon! This is ideally located near the hike to the top of Signal Hill. The home is well organized with lots of bedding and towels and amenities in the kitchen, and the layout was terrific with a large living space for our family to gather, and private, good-sized bedrooms. The owner was very helpful and kind and quick to respond to inquiries. This is truly a gem and will make your visit to St. John's special.
This is a good place with a panoramic view of ocean. It's a beautiful house very clean and comfortable with all things we need.... ideal geographic situation near of historic ST.JOHN, piers and restaurants...We like this house... the contact with owner is easy and we have fast answer when we need information. I recommand this property and if I return to St.John. I will surely take again this property. I give 100% for satisfaction note.
