Come stay in our newly renovated 1890's train station in the heart of the bluegrass.
We are on a working thoroughbred horse farm right off Paris Pike, one of the most scenic areas in all of Central Kentucky. Drive by Gainsway and Elemendorf farms on the way to Claiborne farm. 15 minutes to the Kentucky Horse Park, Fasig Tipton, close to Keeneland and the Lexington area attractions.
Hutchison Station was part of the L&N railroad system between 1890-1950, it still has the original hardwood floors, 12' ceilings and much of the original molding. In its heyday it included a post office, livestock loading platform, general store and blacksmith's shop. You can read more about the station house in 'Ghost Railroads of Kentucky'. Many of the original families still live in the area.
Area activities include a 9 hole golf course within walking distance, and a short drive to many 18 hole courses, horse farm tours, historical sites including Shakertown, Mary Todd Lincoln House, Henry Clay Estate, Civil War battlefields and much more.
We have easy access to I75 & I64 and are located 1/2 way between Lexington and Paris.

Lisa and I run a Thoroughbred horse farm where the Station House is located. We live on the farm, Lisa since she was 5 years old. Farm duties involve the breeding and raising of thoroughbred horses. Lisa and her father raised and raced their own horses off this farm.
This property has been part of the family farm since the 60's.
Wake up and have breakfast while looking at a field full of horses. Historic accommodations in a peaceful atmosphere. Walk to a 9 hole golf course.
We knew when we pulled into the driveway that we had found the type of lodging and location we were hoping for in our trip to Lexington and Paris Kentucky! We were greeted by a miniature horse and his two buddies, burrows, located in a side pasture. From our front door, we could look across beautiful rolling green grass that soon filled with six mares and their new foals. Shy at first, they quickly because best friends when we supplied them with plenty of carrots. We looked forward each morning to their arrival near our front door and we were fascinated with watching the foals frolick about and play.
The building is divided into two sections and ours was on the left. The interior is absolutely lovely. Great detail has been given to the decorating style that marries traditional with modern day amenities. The high ceilings, large windows, open floor plan for the living room and kitchen give it such a spacious feeling. The kitchen is well-equipped, the closet space generous, and the claw foot tub in the main bathroom is so soothing after a long day of sightseeing.
The property is located within easy driving distance of Lexington, Keeneland racetrack and the town of Paris. Short driving trips from the property expose you to the most beautiful countryside that Kentucky has to offer.
Our hosts were very kind, provided great info about the area and allowed us to befriend their animals. We even met the barn cat and two mares housed there with their newborns.
A truly perfect experience in every regard.
Definitely as advertised and we agreed with all the prior excellent reviews. Book with total confidence, you will not be disappointed
The space was welcoming, clean and comfortable. The beds were comfortable and we felt right at home. We cooked several meals and had everything we needed in the kitchen. But the most incredible part of this experience was the farm itself. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the mini horse and donkeys just outside. We also loved seeing the mares and spring foals and feeding them carrots. Steve and Lisa were absolutely wonderful and are great hosts. Their land is beautiful and well tended. It was the perfect place for us to stay for a horse-themed trip to the Kentucky Horse Park. We hope to visit again next spring!
Clean, well provided with all the essentials, tastefully decorated. Owners were very accommodating and had cookies and fresh flowers awaiting us. The area is surrounded by beautiful horse ranches.
Steve and Lisa were very nice. We have stayed in many rentals over the years. This one was by far and away the cleanest. Very roomy, great location. The history of the building was great. Having horses on the farm was amazing. The foals were so cute. Being able to see them and pet them made our vacation very special. We can't say enough about the rental. It's perfect.
What a wonderful setting. The accommodations were more than we could have expected. Lots of room, very clean, all the amenities and appliances to cover our needs, and was extremely comfortable. Flowers and cookies (yum yum) greeted us when we arrived, and the donkeys and pony in the pasture next door came over to greet us and ask to be petted. I would recommend this property to anyone who is visiting in the area, as long as you don't book it when we want it!
