STINKY SHEETS - Excellent Place- Pin Ball Wizard FUN!
What a magical special place. So convenient to Custer. The Pin Ball machine was such an awesome touch. The juke box was fun too. *There is no reason using HEAVY Perfume for laundry or cleaning. It does not make it a pleasant experience for many people. We all do not like the over the top perfume smell.

Cozy Cabin
Great property for a family getaway! My husband and I and our 2 kids enjoyed taking a week to just relax with no obligations. We enjoyed the peacefulness of the property. Kids enjoyed playing outside in the snow and we enjoyed lounging by the fireplace. It was close enough to Custer to still go in for groceries or have a meal out. It makes small town living very appealing. It's a nice place to chill out and unwind from the crazy pace of life!

Great location for visiting the Black Hills
This log cabin home is on a beautiful private property but only minutes from Custer State park and the town of Custer. The town has plenty of shops and restaurants and the state park and Black Hills are magnificent. The best features of this property are the location, privacy, the great porch. Shane the host was friendly and responsive and helped us out with a request. The beds, bathrooms and appliances were clean and the kitchen was well stocked. The cabin looks exactly as pictured on the website. There were a couple of very minor details that could use some attention and I feel the house overall could benefit from a thorough deep cleaning. But we really enjoyed our stay there.

Great place in the country to unwind
Beautiful house on a peaceful and isolated piece of property. Only about ten minutes from town and close to all the Black Hills area attractions. Very well appointed, all the conveniences, great gas fireplace, stunning views and so quiet. Perfect for winding down, getting awY or as a home base for area fun.

Hi there! We are Shane and Kianna Binger and we own TrailHound Cabin Co. We’re just a couple of trailhounds who visited the Black Hills and decided to stay forever. We think you’ll like it too. Whether it’s the sightseeing or outdoor activities, there’s a little something for everyone.

We’ve been together since 2013 and tied the knot in scenic Spearfish Park. Kia is local – sort of. She’s from Philip, South Dakota, near the Badlands, and her parents have hand-painted the Wall Drug signs since 1991. Shane grew up on the other side of the state on a farm near Tulare, South Dakota. We actually met on a school trip to Washington, DC, so traveling has always been close to our hearts! In our free time, we love hiking, kayaking, basically anything outdoors, and traveling to new places. Come visit us and we’ll show you some of our favorite Black Hills destinations!

Why they chose this property

Enjoy your own acreage at Whitetail Springs Lodge. Seventeen acres, that is! This cabin is tucked away, off the road, for a quiet South Dakota oasis. Bordering National Forest land, it’s complete with beautiful views, your own private pond, a balcony off the master bedroom, and a wraparound deck. There are no neighbors in sight, aside from deer, chipmunks, birds, and the occasional elk that might stop by!

What makes this property unique

Nestled in the heart of Black Hills National Forest, Whitetail Springs is a secluded log home with breathtaking views and abundant wildlife. With 17 private acres and no neighbors in sight, this 2100 sqft cabin provides the ultimate peaceful retreat. Enjoy the spacious family room with a stone fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, covered porch with gas BBQ grill, and more. Explore the Mickelson Trail just 1 mile away, or drive a short distance to visit iconic attractions such as Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and Custer State Park. Bikers will appreciate the well-maintained gravel road leading to the cabin and the large barn with a concrete floor for bike and trailer storage. Book now and experience the serenity of Whitetail Springs.
