You are out of town yet within minutes of some fantastic golf courses, hiking, mountain biking, cross country and downhill skiing, sight seeing, ice and fly fishing, boating, the Stoney Nakoda Casino, entertainment, some great restaurants, Calaway theme park and some unique shopping (Banff, Canmore and Calgary). Explore Chateau Lake Louise and Banff from here or just relax at the hot tub or on the deck.

The resort is situation near the Bow River and adjacent to Three Sisters Campground in Dead Mans Flats, Alberta. You are a 5 minute drive East of Canmore. The Bow River is a 5 minute walk away. Grizzly and Black Bear, Cougars, Deer, Mountain Sheep, Elk, Coyotes and Fox all have been observed travelling/feeding along the Upper Pigeon Mountain Ridge and follow Pigeon Creek which feeds into to the Bow River.

About Property Manager/Owner

My husband and I love the mountains. There is something about getting away from town and this setting is perfect for us. We love to be active and there is so much to do in this area, regardless the time of year. In the summer we love to hike, golf and mountain bike in the area.....Winters its cross country skiing. Canmore also has a host of things going on all the time so we like to be there for the Celtic games and the folk festival, sometimes there is great entertainment at the nearby casino or the Drake pub. Our grandsons love it there as well, so we try to bring the family out as much as we can. Great memories are forged on each visit to the mountains. Dwain and Cheryl, Edmonton, Alberta

Why Property Manager/Owner chose Dead Man's Flats

There are so many things to do and see in this area. Everyone knows Banff which is only a 20 minute drive down the road but there is tons to see and do around this area. The 1988 winter olympic cross country facility at the Canmore Nordic Center is a great place to go in winter or try the world class downhill ski tracks at Lake Louise, Sunshine, Mt Norquay. Boat tours of Lake Minnewanka, Helitours at the Stoney Nakoda Casino or Horseback riding at Brewsters. There is world class golf courses at Banff Springs, Stewart Creek, Silvertip and Kananaskis. White water rafting and hiking is available everywhere including right from the condo. The Bow River is known world wide for some of the best trout fishing and it is a short walk from the door.

What makes this condo unique

We decided to purchase a property that was close to but not in town. One of our favorite things to do is book an adjacent campsite at Three Sisters along the Bow River and sit around the campfire....and then walk back to our condo when we run out of wood.

Amazingly Well Stocked Rental

Dwain went above and beyond when our booking got mixed up. He straightened everything out and kept in touch until I was reassured that we had the place. The beds are really comfortable, lots of pillow choices, and plenty of extra bedding. The kitchen was well-stocked, even with such basics as salt and pepper (rarely included in my experience), and paper towels (NEVER included in my experience.) All 3 TVS (!) worked, and there were more books, DVDs, and VHS movies and series than anyone could ever watch. Clearly a guy's place, but enough creature comforts for us 5 women to feel right at home. The decor, while not elegant, was certainly comfortable and fitted the location. There are pretty walks right in Dead Man's Flats along the river, and a great hot tub on site.

Just a head's up; after 7 or 8pm there is NO place to eat in Dead Man's Flats. The 2 restaurants nearby both closed apparently whenever they wanted to. That said, it's not much of a hardship to drive the 5 minutes to Canmore.

Nice place close to Canmore

This condo unit is in Copperstone Resort in Dead Man’s Flats. We stayed from Sunday to Tuesday so the resort was really quiet.

We had 4 adults and 3 kids and the condo worked well for all of us. Condo is a decent size and well equipped.

Location is about 5 minutes from Canmore. We skied at Sunshine, Tubed at Ski Louise. Younger kids went to Elecation Place in Canmore to swim as there is only an outdoor hot tub at the resort.

The Owner, Dwain was easy to work with and answered our questions in a timely fashion.

Great Retreat

Enjoyed our three night stay. Property was clean, beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. Owner sent detailed information about the property ahead of arrival which made check in and our stay most enjoyable and relaxing.

It is a lovely setting, very comfortable, and well kept. The owner was easy to work with and to contact. The distance away from Canmore only provides a quieter setting, because getting there is only a matter of minutes. We would recommend it to anyone.

Nice place.

The condo worked well for our group of seven. Overall it was pretty clean. In our experienced with vrbo the kitchens are usually better stocked than this condo, but it wasn’t a big deal. We did have troubles with the dishwasher, it took a few attempts to get it running every time we used it and one time it did a very poor job cleaning and had to be run a second time.

The condo is in a good area and the complex is very nice. I would probably stay here again.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback. Our wish is for guests to have an enjoyable stay with us. The dishwasher was recently purchased but has also now been serviced...the dishwasher works best on one hr cycle... The kitchen sink was also augured to clear the drain of coffee grounds and grease which affects both the dishwasher and the washing machine. After contacting the guest, we were advised the condo was adequately stocked with utensils and cooking inventory but not with all the consumables such as tinfoil and Saran Wrap required for a Christmas meal for a group of 7. These types of items may need to be replenished by the guest when planning a large meal, basic consumable supplies like coffee and toilet paper are maintained by housekeeping. Please text me during your stay with us should you have any issues with consumables, amenities or questions about the condo or the area.

Perfect!!

It was very comfortable, nicely furnished, clean and had a fabulous view. It was perfect for our sisters weekend. We liked that it was only 4 km into Canmore. Close enough to go back and forth but outside town enough to feel peaceful and relaxing. We were very grateful for Dwain's hospitality and kindness. We would highly recommend staying here.

The condo is located a short 5-8 minute drive from Canmore.
The condo is ideally suited for 6 adults but can accommodate 8 for sleeping if necessary.
Both bathrooms are located on the upper story.
