About Tomasan Harnack

We are siblings who chose to put some of our high school savings from work into rental properties. As we married and had families, we decided to trade into a new property, something more exciting and enjoyable for all of us. The choice was made when the new condos were being built at The Hill on Eames Farm. Still exciting for us.

Tomasan Harnack purchased this condo in 1997

Why Tomasan Harnack chose Eames Farm

We fell in love with the beauty of Door County and wanted our families to enjoy it. The area has SO MUCH to offer. It is so quaint, so unique. When you find an item while shopping in Door County, it might be a couple years later before you see the items outside of Door County. The artisans are ahead of their time here.

Budget Travel Proclaims Egg Harbor to be one of the 'Coolest Small Towns in America.'Door County has been named, 'One of the top ten tourist destinations in America' by Money Magazine. With over 300 miles of shoreline, five state parks, ten lighthouses, picture perfect towns, Door County has a lot to offer.

EGGscape from the Ordinary

In a country where bigger is usually considered better, Budget Travel went searching for the 'Coolest Small Towns in America.' In this 2010 poll, a total of 147 towns were nominated including Egg Harbor. From the original list of nominations, Budget Travel editors selected 21 finalists, and placed them on their web site for voting. Egg Harbor made the 'top ten,' and will be featured in the September issue of the magazine. THAT'S AN HONOR!

What makes this condo unique

We love to boat, relax by the pool, shop, bike ride, fish, eat out, play tennis and enjoy nature. What a great place for all of that, and MORE!

Dining is great in Egg Harbor. You will find a variety of culinary experiences throughout the area. You're invited to explore the plethora of quality, service, atmosphere and food from local restaurants with real personality.

There was nothing about this property that was not physically great. And the owner/agent was responsive and easy to work with. Overall we enjoyed our stay and the facility (didn't use the amenities). The only issue we have is the ridiculous "linen policy." Who wants to get up at the crack of dawn on depart day to do 2-3 loads of laundry so it can be put back on the beds or folded and put in bathrooms before departing which is one option to avoid the over=priced laundry fee ($60) OR you can drag your own bedding along and avoid the fee. Really? I'm not going camping! When I rent a place I expect it to be furnished and that we may USE the items without and exorbitant fee for laundry. We've stayed at VRBO homes in Texas, Florida, South Dakota and Wisconsin and have never come across this strange policy. It would make more sense to add a $25 fee for everyone and just collect it with the rental costs (i'd gladly pay that fee ) and I'm more than happy to throw a load in before I go but I don't expect to have to rise extra early to get the laundry DONE and PUT BACK before I depart. I understand the time constraint for staff, but this policy is over the top.

Owner's Response: We are happy that you found the 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo that included laundry facilities, internet, and heat to meet your needs. We take pride in trying to have everything there that you need. At the rate of $140 per night (trying to keep our prices low) I hope that you noticed that you did not have a cleaning fee. I pay my cleaning staff $85 dollars to clean after my guests leave. I pay 46 dollars for taxes. My net is 289 for 3 nights (excluding my utilities bill). I think that for 100 dollars per night or 25 dollars per person is a pretty great rate. With 4 people in the unit that is a potential of 3 hours of laundry for the linens, therefore the linen fee. Please check back to your other VRBO rentals that you rented and see if there was a cleaning fee. I bet there was. Prior to checking in when I sent the folder of information to you, I wish that you would have contacted me to have your money refunded if you were so displeased with the linen policy. I would have gladly refunded your money. The choices of lodging in Door County are abundant. Finding a place that has all of the amenities that you desire I am sure will be a priority with your next stay.

Very comfortable and had everything we needed.

Plenty of room for the 5 of us. The pool was just around the corner and there is a lovely bath into town. The owner was very flexible with check in and out. Great place to stay for our first trip to the lovely Door County.

Second Year in a row. Love this place. Spotless!

This condo is big, quiet and lovely. What a find. The sunsets are to die for. The house is stocked with everything. Games, books, DVD's and some for kids. The room with the bunk beds are now gone. There are two beds in that room with a flat screen TV. There were four of us and we each had our own bed. Two of us stayed in Sturgeon Bay the first night. The place was a dive and smelled (musty). That was $95.00. Really. Then you walk into this beautiful spacious condo. It is a first floor condo.

Muskego, Wi

We had a fun-filled, action packed family vacation.

  • 5 of 5

We come up to Door County every summer to watch my father compete in the triathlon. It has turned into an annual, family reunion. This was by far the nicest place we've stayed. This year, we went to Cana Island, PC Junction, a fish boil, the Gilles Rock Maritime Museum and more! Staying at Eames Farm was such a treat. My son loved the bunk-beds and walking down the hill into town. My husband and I appreciated all of the amenities and the convenient location. We loved watching the sunset over the lake. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

Fabulous place for a family

  • 5 of 5

Door County is an incredible place to visit, the villages, orchards, and sightseeing opportunities are many. I couldn't have asked for a better place to call home base while we were staying in Egg Harbor.

The condo was very well equipped & spotless. We cooked several meals there and had everything we wanted in the kitchen. It was so comfortable that it was like being at home (with no 'to do' list).

There is loads of room! We had two adults and two teens and we all had room to relax. I love the master bedroom, closet & bath, enough floor space to do cartwheels.

The walking path to the village is just wonderful. You must visit the Main Street Market in Egg Harbor for provisions. It is an excellent market; we walked down in the morning, picked up pastries & juice and ate them in the little gazebo on the trail overlooking the harbor, breathtaking!

I would definitely stay here again!
