About this property

Best Family Retreat location at Sun Peaks! Spectacular Views/Hot Tub

Tigger's Triumph commands one of the most coveted hike-in/hike-out, ski-in/out locations on the mountain. Treat yourself to a great getaway located right on the mountain.

With floor-to-ceiling windows, Tiggers Triumph offers front row seats to the best wildlife show around. While sipping your morning coffee, you can watch bear, fox, deer and marmots roam by on the mountainside right outside the windows.

Tiggers Triumph is a very spacious 2,700 square foot, 3-floor home plus 2 full kitchens, 2 laundry facilities, 2 livingrooms, 3 bathrooms, a full-car garage plus outside parking, 2 private balconies and 2 gas fireplaces. Its open concept design and cathedral ceiling allow for multiple group and private gathering spaces.

We come from a big family so we designed this chalet to accommodate several families to stay together with as much, or as little privacy, as desired, for a maximum of 10 adults or 14 people. The bathrooms have separate rooms for shower and toilet and sink for optimal use during the early morning rush to get first tracks.

Have a crying baby or strange work schedule? No problem - Thoughtful Spot Suite located on the bottom floor, will allow those with abnormal sleeping schedules all the space, privacy and comfort they need. It has 2 bedrooms, sleeps 4 adults or 6 people total, with its own private entrance, kitchen, laundry, full bathroom, fireplace and ski locker. It is connected to the main house through an inside door. There is a 2-car garage and 3-4 outdoor parking spaces.

Also on the lower floor there is a recreation room with ping pong table and entertainment center with TV and comfy couch area.

The Rec Room or Suite Living room also serves as an extra sleeping space. The couch serves as a twin bed or you may pull out the foam mattress underneath the Queen bed in the tri-bunk room in the Suite and put it directly on the floor.

The main floor has the greatroom with kitchen, dining and living areas, custom stone gas fireplace, large wraparound patio with private hot tub and floor to ceiling windows looking up to the mountains and ski runs. There are also 2 bedrooms on this floor.

The master bedroom and loft/sitting area is on the upper floor with a private balcony, a full bathroom and heated floor and glorious view of Mt. Morrisey and the valley.

In Winter, Sun Peaks is next to none with its number of powder and sunshine days and family-friendly apres-ski activities in the Village. The downhill and nordic ski areas are both great options. The ski instructors are fantastic for any level of skier and the childminding is particularly geared towards making your kids feel comfortable. Other non-skiing activities are abundant such as snow shoeing, dog-sledding, horse and buggy tours, snow mobile tours. All these are available a short walk away, from right outside your door while at Tiggers Triumph.

In summer, it is a place full of family-friendly activities such as a weekly farmers market, hiking, canoeing, biking, swimming, tennis, kayaking, Stand-up Paddleboarding, horseback riding, yoga, geocaching, golf, tennis and the list continues. A limitless list of things to do and places to see. The Village has lots of spa, shopping and dining options and a new fitness center. The area around Sun Peaks is a great place to explore as well.

We have endeavored to equip Tiggers Triumph as your home away from home to make your vacation as memorable and comfortable as possible. As our guests, you have access to 24 hour in-resort emergency support for any problem you may encounter with respect to Tiggers Triumph. Support services are provided by Brian Heron of BHP Services.

All guests should be aware that Tiggers Triumph is in a beautiful spot in Sun Peaks Resort and it is also a residential area. We value and respect our neighbors and community and expect our guests to do so as well in terms of following all of our house rules especially regarding noise levels and total number of adults staying on our property. This is an enforced fire code in the Resort.

With Covid, we follow a strict enhanced cleaning protocol, which was developed with expert guidance. Here are a few highlights:

sanitized high-touch surfaces, down to the doorknob
use of cleaners and disinfectants approved by global health agencies
housekeepers wear protective gear to help prevent cross-contamination
each room is cleaned using extensive cleaning checklists
extra cleaning supplies provided, so you can clean during your stay
compliance with local laws, including any additional safety or cleaning guidelines

Safety is our priority so we want to make sure everyone is safe - yourselves as well as our staff.

Thank you and have a great vacation!

Tigger’s Treasure, March 2024.
Tigger’s Treasure very comfortably absorbed all 9 of us for ski week. Ski-in ski-out feature is terrific, as was the outside ski locker. Mud room kept the clutter out of the way and made getting all of us out the door easy. Kitchen and living room were bright and well equipped, and gas fireplace took the chill off in the morning. Beds were all very comfortable and the place was spotless when we arrived. A few things could use some updating, but nothing major or that affected the pleasure of iud stay. Donna was an attentive host, responding g to all queries promptly and clearly. All in all a great place for a large group.

Great location
This chalet is truly ski in/ski out, located right beside the Connector run; which leads to the Sunburst and Sundance chair lifts. It is about a 20m walk up 5m elevation to get to the run (the chalet is slightly downhill from the run); but that is really no problem. If you like to cook and are driving to the hill you might consider bringing some of your own cooking tools/utensils; as the ones at the chalet are pretty basic. We really enjoyed our week here and didn't have to get into our vehicles at all. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to have the great convenience of being right beside the village and ski runs.

Summer family get-together
Sun Peaks has so much to do for all ages but the gorgeous house was hard to leave for outdoor fun! Our summer family get-together was a blast. We were a bit cramped though, with grandparents, four siblings and their kids - 14 people had enough beds, but awkward bedroom splits. The rental is listed as 6 bedrooms but we only counted 5, with sleeping couches scattered in other-use rooms. Next time we are all together, we'll have to find a larger space. Too bad, because it really is a lovely place, thoughtlfully furnished, supplied, and decorated. Brian was helpful and full of tips and local information. He couldn't fix the dishwasher while we were there but not for want of trying. I don't think there's anything that can be done about the tight time-line for checking out. It was a bit stressful for our last day to get breakfasts finished, laundry started, dishes done, and vehicles packed, all before 10 am.

About the host

My family's favorite vacation spot is Tiggers Triumph at Sun Peaks because it always has good skiing conditions in the wintertime and great weather with wonderful wild flowers and fun outdoor activities in the summertime. Sun Peaks Resort is family friendly with a variety of activities and events happening year-round. The locals are amazing! And...Tiggers has something for every age. You will love its library of books and movies and music for every age. The kitchen is stocked with everything you will need. It is designed to be a place for wonderful gatherings of family and friends year round.

Why they chose this property

Sun Peaks has one of the best locations for skiing whether downhill or cross country/back country skiing. The snow is plentiful and it is cold and dry with lots of powder! In the warm months it has great hiking and swimming and other fun outdoor activities. The wildlife is right outside your door, the weather wonderful and the night skies are full of stars.

Also, Tiggers is special because we built it and helped design it ourselves with our big family in mind for special family events and reunions. We would like to share it with your family and help to make your special family event and reunion memorable. It is comfort and nature combined in a very special way that will keep you coming back for years.

What makes this property unique

Tiggers is uniquely situated on the mountain. The Village and lifts are within 7 minutes on foot or 2 minutes on skis, yet one has a feeling of privacy and connection with the mountain with its unique Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired design, natural wood interior and floor to ceiling windows looking out onto the mountain.

East Meets West - The Tiggers Triumph Story
You may wonder why the name Tiggers Triumph? Tigger and Winnie-the-Pooh were key characters in the lives of the Weston family with 3 young kids during the building of the house and Triumph – the location of the house situated at the bottom of several ski runs - sounds like a good name for a ski run and chalet!

The owners met in Asia and Tiggers Triumph is a metaphor for the lives of owners, Donna and John, who are as comfortable in Asia as they are in the West. In fact, they met in Taiwan where they spent over a decade living and working.

The house manifests a colourful combination of art with Asian and outdoor alpine motifs, evoking a sense of casual intimacy.

The interior design intends to promote community and a coming together of different generations of people, activities and stories. It also is intended to foster a love of the outdoors and outdoor recreation for all ages.

Tiggers visitors who come for a ski trip are surprised by the musical, literary and artistic influences that enhance their visit.

Mostly we just hope you experience a wonderful time together with family and friends at Tiggers Triumph as a place of shared activity, laughter and quiet contemplation. Please take note of Mother’s Nature’s awesomeness while you are there. It is our family’s favorite place on earth and we hope you love it too.
