Comfortable 3BR, 2BA lakefront home in private, gated community is large enough for family vacations, and close enough for weekend getaways from Washington, DC. Master BR has queen bed, bathroom, walk-in closet and lake view. 2nd BR has a queen and a twin bed and lake view. 3rd BR has 2 sets of bunk beds. Family/media room has queen sleeper sofa. House sleeps 11 comfortably.

Large, high ceilinged, open living/dining/kitchen space has panoramic view of lake, and is great for sharing with family and friends. Wood burning fireplace for those cool fall or winter getaways. Living room opens onto large screened-in porch.

Private dock on deep cove in quiet, no-wake zone is just steps away. Good swimming and fishing in the cove. The canoe, kayak and fishing gear are available for guest use. Visit the Lake of the Woods Association's website (lowa) for complete descriptions of the golf course, pools, beaches, tennis courts, equestrian center, parks, trails and other community amenities.

Family Reunion
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. So much to do outside between the kayaks, canoe, tubes and fishing. It’s very quiet and peaceful.

Relaxing lake experience.
Really enjoyed our stay. Home is older, but very comfortable and very well stocked with everything you would need. Loved the huge screrned in porch. Enjoyed swimming from the dock and caught 2 large bass and catfish. Enjoyed the kayaks and canoe. Dinner was very good at the clubhouse, and visited Fredericksburg for dinner. Also, Monday night is pizza night at the local Old House Vineyard in nearby Culpepper. All in all we really enjoyed our stay.

Great Family Fun
The process to check in was a little wonky. I've never had to show an ID for a VRBO before. However the house was great. We had a lot of fun. There were more than enough dishes & supplies to cook all week and stay in enjoying all that the area has to offer.

Lovely Stay
We had the pleasure of staying at this property for a family reunion and had such a wonderful time. The house had everything we could have needed! The screened in porch was spacious and comfortable, the dock was in excellent condition and steps from the back door, and the views were incredible! We had an age range of 5 to 75, and it was a hit with everyone! We would love to stay here again and would highly recommend.

After moving around for many years during their naval careers, owners John and Jan settled in northern Virginia 22 years ago. They purchased this home 7 years ago, are looking forward to many years of enjoyment at Lake of the Woods, and hope to share all it has to offer with you.

Why they chose this property

Its so convenient to northern Virginia/ Washington, DC - just over an hour away, and has so much more to offer than the other lake properties we looked at. In addition to all the water related activities, there's an 18 hole golf course on site and another 45 holes within ten minutes of the community. Add in tennis, horseback riding, hiking, the clubhouse and other amenities, and almost any vacationer, young or old, can be satisfied. There are also many dining, shopping and sightseeing options nearby.

What makes this property unique

Relaxing... morning coffee on the dock... jump in the cove off the dock... grill good food... watch the cove's resident swans... canoe to the clubhouse for a good meal or beverage... 63 holes of golf to conquer... become a Civil War history buff... stroll in historic Fredericksburg... quiet afternoon in the hammock... a tennis match... fishing... a good kayaking workout
