Why Deborah Skerry chose Burnaby
The view from springervacationhome is spectacular. The house is centrally located in the heart of the Greater Vancouver Regional District (GVRD). It is spacious providing lots of room for groups and families to mingle or be alone. The area is quite and surrounded by parks, but very close to the city if one wants to go downtown and experience the hubbub. The house is close to the trade and convention centers, Simon Fraser University (SFU), British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT), the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE), Bridge Studios and Electronic Arts.

4 day business stay
There were 4 guys who spent 4 days at the house which worked out well. Instead of getting 4 hotel rooms which were expensive we decided to go a different route for the first time. Gathering at the house together after a long day was nice vs retiring to individual hotel rooms. We were comfortable and had everything we needed. Deborah was a great host who came by the first day to make sure we had everything we needed. The drive to the convention center each morning was about 20 minutes. Would definitely try this again.
Thank you for your kind words
Adequate, but lacks attention - both the home and the owner!
The home was adequate for our group. It was nice to have a home base. We didn't spend much time there during the day. The beds were comfortable! We had plenty of hot water. The home had the appearance of being clean, but there were some things that were overlooked. One room had sheets that were not clean. There was a poop stain on the toilet seat of the master bathroom toilet. There was a big hairball on the glass wall of the shower in the master bathroom. The mat on the floor of the shower was full of hair. There were toenail clippings on the floor by the bed in the master bedroom. The sheets in the master bedroom were badly pilled, and are in need of replacing. When brought to the attention of the owner, we asked her if we could have laundry soap to wash the unclean sheets. She said she did not supply that. I countered that she should at least supply clean sheets. She said the whole house was clean, and that if we found it otherwise, someone must have broken in and gotten it dirty. In essesence, she was calling me a liar. I did not appreciate that! There was no attempt to rectify or resolve our issues. We never heard from Deborah again.
I took pictures of the lack of cleanliness problems in the home, but don't see a way to attach them to this review. Also, in the section above, "Did you enjoy your stay?" There is no way to select "Not really." "I loved it!" is the default, and there is no other option. I did not LOVE our stay!
Before our stay, I contacted her by e-mail with 5 questions. I received a one word reply - 'yes.' That didn't begin to answer my questions, and her monosylabic reply left me wondering which of the 5 questions she was answering. Don't count on having your questions or issues resolved with this landlord. She must just be in it for the money.
Thank you for your critique and yes I chose not to respond to your comments because I did not want to argue and it was clear we were in disagreement I do not believe your claims. I attended the house on the night your group arrived. I came to knock on the door after 10 pm because all the doors and windows were wide open which would cause the heating system to shut down and I did not want you to have a cold next morning. Your group also had every light in the house on including the closets. I did not comment but here in Burnaby BC Canada were respect and conserve energy it is considered very bad form to be that wasteful perhaps you saw my reaction to your wastefulness on my face but I did not mention it to you. You did not mention any deficiencies at that time or show me your concerns or pictures you just got nasty the next day after I fixed the heat and then right away you got nasty. Then the next day you made all of those accusations but did not show me. So,?I told you I was sorry you were not happy because I have learned to accept that some people are not happy and I am unlikely to change their minds.I have never presented the house with unwashed beds that is just false, The sheets are new this year- I answered yes for all questions should I have done it five times? And all of your questions were answered which you failed to acknowledge my guests are really important to me as is my business I do my best and most of my guests are kind respectful of my home and the community as it is supposed to be your home away from home, I am not sure what you expected but it is entirely as advertised and yes the fence needs painting I did the interior painting spring 2017 and some touch up may be required on base cove but it is 10 years old now. I have submitted pictures so all should be clear. I am very very clean and you just chose to insult the cleaning because you were told I did it and you wanted to insult me and put me down and hurt me so you attacked me and my livelihood which is disturbing I hope you are not permitted to do that. I will put on website that all concerns be shown right away and discussed at time not made up after the fact when proof is impossible. Admittedly the house was perfect for your needs but you could not say thanks good day
Great place to stay

1) The check in time is 16:30 and check out is 10:00 sharp. Thank you 3) Government identification (driver's licence and a credit card) required at check in 3) The refund policy is: first to offer you (the guest) an alternate date (of equal value) with no loss to client; the second option is to try to re-rent the property with a 10% loss to the guest if the property is rebooked deducted from the refund to cover the credit card and administration fees; the third option is to encourage guests to make an early booking (definitely recommended) to insure specific dates, but if you are uncertain of your plans, please do not book, until you are certain, as a refund is not guaranteed. Refunds will be considered based on the circumstances of the guest's specific and/or difficult situation (with proof required) and only at the owner's discretion. 4) Capitol Hill is a quiet residential neighbourhood zoned for family living and cannot be used as a reception hall for large events because the infrastructure cannot support the parking, refuse, noise, etc. There is parking for four to six cars on the street; four in front of the house and two spaces in the back lane between the houses, but there is no parking at the neighbour's houses; a policy that is strictly enforced. 5) I thank-you for your understanding in these matters and i hope your group chooses Springervacationhome for your Vancouver vacation.
