We bought this house with the hope of retiring here in a few years. There is still hope for that but in the meantime, we would like you to enjoy the house and surrounding area.
House is relaxing, easy to care for.
This was our first experience utilizing HomeAway and I was very pleased with the results. Nice quiet area and really felt like I was staying at home. Enjoyed the stay very much and would strongly recommend this rental to anyone looking for a nice place off the beaten path. Even though it was remote we were within 20 minutes of Ferndale for access to groceries etc. Excellent Wi-Fi access which for our business purposes was a must! I'm sure if the opportunities arises we will return!
If you want a relaxing time....beautiful scenery...well stocked kitchen (loved the cookware). spacious....air bed worked great for our grandson...
This is you house....comfortable But not fancy
We really enjoyed our stay. 4 nights, all with beautiful sunsets. The nature around the place as well as the quiet was delightful. I saw sea otters playing on and to the side of the dock behind the house. Also all sorts of birds including Herons on the dock pilings Many things to keep you busy, indoors and out. Not far from town.
The place was clean and neat but they told us sleeps 6 but we found it only sleeps 4. Two of us end up sleeping on ground.
Sandy Point was a great place for our visit to the area. The rooms are quite large, very well furnished and comfortable. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. There are lots of games and puzzles plus a game table in the large living room. Nice for doing a puzzle without having to use the dining table! It was a welcome place to "come home" to after a day of exploring the area.
We spent a very enjoyable family vacation in Sandy Point. We were not quite sure what to expect, but we were very pleasantly surprised! Kitchen is stocked with everything you need, plenty of dishes for our big family meals, the BBQ and table on the deck out back is an added plus. Two bathrooms meant that those logistics were a breeze. The living room is spacious and comfortable, great books and games to share. The queen-sized air mattress was surprisingly comfortable! Having both wifi and a washer/dryer was also a huge plus.
Water access is great. Our kids paddled out every morning on our kayaks, which we left on the dock. We hadn't arranged to use the dock for our sailboat (next time), but the marina in Sandy Point is nearby -- careful for the sandbanks at low tide, though! The house is a great base for both on-water and off-water activities - we sailed to Matia island one day, put out crab pots several others (caught three big Dungeness). The Saturday market in Bellingham was a great day trip, and another day we picked nearly 100 pounds of blueberries at a super-friendly U-pick in Ferndale. There were many other things we didn't end up doing because we were just so comfortable relaxing around the house, cooking meals and spending time with family, hanging out on the deck or walking around Sandy Point (very dog friendly!) The owner was wonderful to deal with, answered all my questions promptly, and was more than accommodating. We will be back here!
