Welcome to our brand new two bedroom, two bath condo in the new Cruz Bay luxury resort, Grande Bay. We have survived Hurricane Irma in good shape and are looking forward to welcoming our St John friends -- old and new -- back in 2018. We will be offering a 10% discount to encourage visitors to return to the magnificent island of St John and help the local residents rebuild.

Our condo is actually a one bedroom and a studio combined so that the studio becomes the second bedroom and can be rented either alone as a studio; as a one bedroom or combined as a two bedroom where the studio becomes the second bedroom. It is perfect for either one couple, two couples traveling together or a family and when you rent as a the two bedroom you get much more space and privacy than you would in a more traditional two bedroom set-up, since there are two living areas -- so there's plenty of room for everyone to be together when that's what you want, but also space to be alone and have privacy when that's what's desired. Both the studio and one bedroom can each sleep up to four and as a two bedroom it sleeps up to 8 people, with king beds in both the master bedroom as well as the sleeping area of the studio/second bedroom and queen sleeper sofas in both the living room and the living/sitting area of the studio.

Grande Bay is a 48 unit resort directly on the water and only a three to five minute walk to 'downtown' Cruz Bay with the ferry and all its restaurants, bars and shops. We have spectacular views of the water and harbor with St Thomas in the distance from both of our main balconies. We have a particularly good location within Grande Bay. We are on the second floor (really the third floor, since the ground floor is the garage) of the rear Building C, closest to the pool and away from town. We especially like this location because: (1) we are off the street and don't have any street noise and have more privacy; (2) we are up high so we have great panoramic views; and (3) we are away from town so it is quieter (no Beach Bar or nearby construction) Use our apartment as your base to explore the most magnificent island on earth!

Our large two bedroom unit comes fully equipped with high end furnishings in the Caribbean style and many personal touches. We have a very unique and welcoming floor plan. On one side of the condo is the master bedroom with king four poster bed, desk and dresser. We then have a living room with queen sleeper sofa, and there is an elegant glass-topped dining room table. You can eat there or on the magnificent balcony looking out over the water. Or you can sit on the stools at the granite kitchen counter overlooking the fully equipped stainless steel kitchen. In the evening, enjoy the 40' Sony flat screen cable TV with Blu-Ray, surf the net with our free wi-fi (also, free long distance domestic telephone calls), listen to your favorite music on our stereo with CD player, or just sit on the balcony and enjoy the view.

Our second bedroom is the connected studio. We have a Caribbean style king bed in the sleeping area and a queen sleeper sofa and table in the living area of the studio, complete with its own second Sony 40' flat screen cable TV with full cable service and stereo. The studio has its own balcony with the same magnificent views. We also have a separate small apartment sized kitchen with sink and small refrigerator, microwave and small electric appliances (coffee maker, blender, toaster/oven, etc) and a separate apartment sized washer and dryer (in addition to the ones in the other side of the condo).

If you check out our reviews, you will get a very good sense of the kind of experience you can expect to have renting from us. And by renting directly from us as the owners, you will avoid the significant service fee that vrbo imposes on bookings made through them.

Use our apartment as your base to discover the paradise that is St John! You can walk to two of the most beautiful beaches, Solomon and Honeymoon, in 30 minutes along the National Park Service trail through the woods. Or rent a car or take a taxi to explore the North Shore beaches -- some of the very best in the world. In ten minutes you will be at Hawksnest, and then on to Oppenheimer, Trunk Bay, Cinnamon, Francis Bay and beyond, to name a few, all within the protected boundaries of the National Park. You can take your beach towels, chairs and coolers from the unit, so pack a lunch and make it a day. If you rent a car, park in our garage beneath the building (parking is at a real premium in Cruz Bay). After a day at the beach, come relax pool side or sit in the hot tub and soak in the view. Or if you want to be more vigorous, come work out in our state of the art fitness center with the best views imaginable. We have treadmills, elipticals, bikes, weights, a strength tower, and, yes, even a pilates machine! In the evening, walk to one of the many bars or restaurants in town, or listen to music at the Beach Bar, just two minutes away. Or get some of the best and cheapest barbecue ever from Uncle Joe's and sit on the balcony and watch the sun set as you eat your dinner. So many terrific choices!!

But most importantly, just relax and enjoy this very special spot. We are certain that you will love St John and Grande Bay as much as we do -- it would be virtually impossible not to.

We have a separate efficiency kitchen (apartment sized refrigerator, sink, etc) IN ADDITION to a full kitchen; We have 2 washers and 2 dryers (apartment sized); The 'second bedroom' is really a large studio with separate bedroom area (king bed) and a discrete living area with sofa (queen sleeper) and entertainment center and table.


We have a wonderful heated hot tub and pool as well as a fitness center for our guests with the best views of any fitness center in the Caribbean.
