Great apartment in a great location

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in this apartment. The apartment was clean and well appointed with plenty of space for my husband and I. We like being in a more residential area when we come to NYC and this place fits the bill perfectly. There is plenty to eat and see in this location as well. We loved the bagel shop at the corner, being so close to Central Park, close proximity to the subway (quick walk up Lexington) and late night pizza at Vinnie's after our two Broadway shows. We will request to stay again.

Great Location

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our visit to NYC. The apartment is nicely decorated, and the landlord was very friendly and accommodating. We had access to great NY bagels and easy access to the subway. We loved it.

Great location, comfortable and clean, classic New York style

  • 5 of 5

The apartment worked out very well for us for a stay on the Upper East Side. Walking distance to the Met, the Breuer, the Guggenheim and Central Park. Classic luncheonette across the street and a bagelry two doors down. Near the Lexington subway.

The apartment is elevator served, decorated in a classic New York old style. We were hesitant about a Murphy bed, but it was very comfortable and was not really in the way even when down.

The air conditioner worked, but it seemed to have to work pretty hard to keep up. The bathroom and closets were well appointed. The kitchen had plenty on hand for breakfast -- bread, eggs, coffee, and many other grocery items for an easy start.

Owner's Response: Yes during your stay the temperatures in New York were 100° degrees Plus. So any air conditioner would have had a slight problem although I think it's pretty good and sometimes too good. We look forward to seeing you again.

Great location, hospitable hosts

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is very well-appointed. The Murphy bed is extremely comfortable and the kitchen is stocked with dishes, utensils, etc should you want to prepare a meal. But for us, the biggest draw was the location: close to our kids and right across the street from the old Lexington Ave candy store/diner and just down the block from Tal's bagels :)

The hosts couldn't have been more welcoming and we appreciated all they did to welcome us and make us feel at home

Pretty good

  • 3 of 5

It was clean and in a perfect neighborhood. The man of the couple who rent it out was particularly kind and helpful. The wife, not so much. It is small with a Murphy bed in the living room. Nevertheless, it was just a few blocks from the Met and centralpark. Over all, a good stay.

Owner's Response: Actually it is quite a large apartment by New York standards. The "Murphy" bed you refer to is an $8,000 built-in queen bed, customized for the apt. The only times I ever spoke to you was to ask you what time you were arriving. At that time you said, "I don't know what you're talking about, I booked a hotel." When I e mailed her the reservation document, she said "Oh yeah, I forgot." This should tell you everything you need to know. In addition, the way she left the apt. was a disaster. Even the housekeeper said she had never seen anything like it. Please read all my other reviews as they are all 5 star. Beware, there is a problem when dealing with this woman.

Perfect place to stay, so much nicer than a hotel!

  • 5 of 5

We were in the city to visit our soon and see a couple of Broadway shows. The apt. was immaculate and had everything we needed. The bathroom could use updating but the rest off the apt. was great and very nicely furnished.

The location is fabulous. It was very quiet at night and very alive during the day. We felt safe walking there at night and could also get an Uber or cab easily. This area is a gorgeous, high end area of the city.

The bagel shop on the corner was amazing.
