'Snead Island Tree House' Waterfront Apartment on 2 Acre Lot

This is a unique piece of old Florida on Snead Island. We remodeled the apartment in 1997 with hickory floors in the living/dining room. The kitchen has hickory cabinets with granite countertops and a slate floor which flows into the bathroom. The bedroom is carpeted and has a select comfort queen size bed with cherry furniture, including a desk and TV. The living room and bedroom have cathedral ceilings and clerestory windows. The living room has plenty of seating to enjoy the 46' HD TV, ROKU, DVD, VCR or CD players, along with a gorgeous view. A La-Z-Boy queen air hide-a-bed with matching love seat.

The apartment 'tree house' is nestled amongst hundred year old oaks on two acres which include Mango trees and pond. When in season, you can enjoy tree ripened mangoes. While having breakfast on the porch, you'll have a beautiful view of the Manatee River. In the evening, watching the sunset while having cocktails by the fire will provide a chance to see the manatees swim past the boat dock, or you may choose to watch the sunset from the Jacuzzi.
Cathy and I live in the main house and will help you settle in and resolve any problems that might arise.

We are 1 1/2 hours from Disney World, and an hour from Busch Gardens and Mote Marine, a world class aquamarine research facility which gives tours.

Treehouse
Nice clean rustic cabin feel in a quiet location on the water. Weather didn't cooperate so we couldn't take advantage of the outdoor space.

Absolute heaven
After a way too busy time at Disney World, the Treehouse was exactly what we needed to relax! Gorgeous view and everything you could possibly need was available, extremely well stocked home! The owners were absolutely lovely and always available for any questions we had. Definitely plan on a return stay!

The best of what is great in Florida
The treehouse is a great accommodation in a beautiful location on the Manatee River. The setting is tropical Florida, the location is convenient to beaches and other local amenities and just steps from a beautiful state preserve.

Fabulous!!!!
We cannot praise this place enough! Everything was perfect, the location, the view, the accommodations, the owners and the weather! The owners volunteered to make us a fire for the evening, but we never got around to enjoying it. The hot tub was awesome. The view was awesome! The kitchen is fully stocked. Great communication and wonderful people.

Cathy's grandparents settled on Snead Island in 1957, she's called it home ever since. We've been married since 1980, at which time we moved aboard our 32' sailboat. For the next 20 years we lived and worked on private, corporate and charter boats, Bob as Captain/Engineer, Cathy as 1st Mate/Cook. After racing sailboats and riding motorcycles for years we have recently given those hobbies up and are into classic cars. Cathy , when not working in the yard spends her time at DAR or the garden club.

Why they chose this property

It's been in the family since 1974. We lived in the apartment we call the Tree House and now we live in the main house.

What makes this property unique

The water, view, wildlife, weather.. Nature peserve within walking distance and good fihing all around. Easy drive to the Orlando and Tampa theme parks. Great location for outdoor weddings.
