About this property

Ski-in Ski-Out - Luxury Mountain Living at its Finest!

Welcome and thank you for visiting 'Our Favorite Place'! Breckenridge is requiring the following website be included to assist you in preparing for you visit given the Covid-19. Rules continue to change so we both will have to be flexible. https://gobreck.com/trip-ideas/what-to-know-2/.

We love our mountain home both in the winter and summer and the beautiful Victorian town of Breckenridge. We hope you will too. Our Favorite Place has an open main level, living, dining and kitchen area, with south facing floor to ceiling windows showcasing views of Mt. Baldy, Red Mountain and the ski area. Here friends and family can gather to enjoy this exquisite mountain retreat year round. It is a winter wonderland during the snow season and a dream in the cool mountain summers. Read below for the new Peak 6 skiing.

The cathedral ceilings give the living area a wonderful openness. Wood floors on the main level add mountain ambience with the added luxury of in floor radiant heating throughout. The kitchen offers granite counter tops and high end appliances. Three bedrooms, each on a different level, offer privacy for all. You will find a king bed in the master suite, a queen bed in the mid-level bedroom and twin beds in the lower level. The walk out den to the hot tub also has a sofa bed, a media center and is a place just to get away and enjoy a book alone. In addition there are tiled baths with honed travertine and tumbled travertine trim, double sink in the master bath, a stand alone shower on the mid-level, a full size washer and dryer and a private master suite on a level to its own. There is only one common wall in the duplex, no one above or below, giving you complete privacy. There is room for one car in the heated garage and another in the driveway. The home is on a private cul-de-sac with minimum traffic. Don't be surprised to see skiers zipping in front of, behind or beside our home during winter ski season.

Our Favorite Place is decorated in authentic Colorado mountain style and is located on Snowflake Trail, only a stones throw down to Snowflake Lift. The lift will whisk you up to Peak 8 where you can cruise to all other points throughout the resort or you can catch the free bus from the stop a block away to any other destination around Breckenridge. Peak 6 opened during the 2013-2014 ski season adding about 25% more skiable terrain. The Peak 6 project includes 400 acres of lift-served terrain and 143 acres of hike-to terrain including bowl terrain for intermediate skiers! So now there are five Peaks (6, 7, 8, 9 and 10) and Snowflake Lift takes you up into the heart or middle of all this fabulous terrain!

After a day of skiing, golfing, hiking, etc., spend the afternoon sitting in the hot tub or the two person Jacuzzi in the master bath, which also has a stand alone shower. The living room's focal point is the floor to ceiling stone fireplace with a raised hearth and comfy cushion great for warming up after a day on the slopes. This can be topped off with a quite evening at home or shopping, restaurants and night life await you downtown. Have a great time!

We think it is the perfect mountain town! When you get here, you’ll feel like you’re part of the town – a local – whether you’re on Main Street or up 13,000ft at the ski resort summit. From shopping to nightlife from dining to culture, you can kick-it-up or kick back, whatever your mood.

Summit County is aptly named 'Colorado's Playground.' For more than a century, people have fallen in love with picturesque Breckenridge and Summit County for its lively year-round recreational possibilities and eternal charm. Summit County is located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains just west of the Continental Divide and is approximately 90 miles west of Denver. Breckenridge is accessible by car or airport transfer with Colorado Mountain Express as well as other carriers. With our high elevations, low humidity, and Colorado's infamous sunny blue bird skies, the temperature often feels warmer than it truly is. You can fill your days skiing, touring our remarkable hiking and biking trails, rafting or kayaking the raging rivers, sailing or playing one of Summit County's five world class golf courses. In the summer, families will really enjoy Breckenridge’s Peak 8 Fun Park with 3 alpine slides, miniature golf, a maze, and bouncers, along with concessions and other attractions. Summit County offers more activities for all ages and all abilities than you could ever imagine.

The neighboring mountain towns of Frisco, Dillon and Silverthorne are situated around gorgeous Lake Dillon, just a short drive away. Summit County is the home to four world-class ski resorts including Breckenridge, Arapahoe Basin, Copper Mountain and Keystone, each of which are located within a short distance of each other. A typical multiday ski pass can cover several of these ski resorts but why leave Breckenridge! You'll have a hard time covering all the ski terrain in Breckenridge and ski-in and ski-out is available most of the ski season depending on snow conditions. Early season is sometimes iffy for the lower elevation trails. With endless winter and summer activities, Summit County plays host to nearly 3 million visitors per year. So, no matter your pleasure, you'll love Summit County, 'Colorado's Playground.' Once the snow melts, another side of Breckenridge appears. Bright blue skies, mild temperatures and colorful wildflowers make Breckenridge the ideal summer destination. If you ask any of our friendly locals why they came here they'll say: 'I came for the winter but stayed for the summer.'

Breckenridge is a shoppers’ paradise with more than 200 shops, boutiques, galleries, museums, wonderful restaurants and sports stores on and around historic Main Street. The antique appearing lamp posts line Main Street and hold baskets of sumptuous arrays of flowers in the summertime. Horse and buggy tours through this historic Victorian mining town are a favorite of many. All this is available only a short distance from our home and provides for a wonderful walk in fresh mountain air.

Enjoy your visit!

Family ski vacay
This property was perfect for 4 adults and 3 young kids. Plenty of space for everyone to sleep comfortably. We cooked every dinner there and spent time in the hot tub. The ski down to snowflake lift was great.

Great Location
Really nice location... easy access to slopes and town. Kitchen was very small, but we made it work. Wish there was an outdoor grill.

Ski in/out
Myself and group of friends stayed for the week. The location was ideal for ski in/out, close to drive to town or walkable if needed too. Full baths on each floor was convenient. House was very clean and hosts were very responsive and great!

My wife and I grew up in western Kentucky and met at Murray State University. She later taught school all over the U.S. and Germany and I spent 20 years in the Army retiring out of the Pentagon. I was a Soviet Foreign Area Officer and worked much of my career in Russian intelligence. I then worked in the financial planning industry before retiring 9 years ago. Upon retiring, we followed our children to Colorado from Atlanta, our 21st move! Our daughter has lived in Breckenridge for almost 30 years now and our son graduated from Colorado State University. He came all the way out to Colorado from Northern Virginia as did my daughter! Our children spent a lot of their youth skiing and traveling in the Alps and migrated to the Rocky Mountains as soon as they could. We also have two wonderful grandsons and a wonderful daughter-in-law. Not only did our son and daughter-in-law get engaged in Breckenridge at a pristine lake above our Breckenridge home, they also got married in beautiful Breck! Every one skis including our grandsons, nine year old Lucas and 11 year old Joseph. We know you'll like the mountains as well as we do!

Why they chose this property

What makes this property unique

We love Breckenridge just as much in the beautiful, clean and fresh mountain air of the summer as we do in the snowy winter where skiing, downhill and cross country, boarding, shoeing, sledding, ice skating, shopping, dining, clubbing or just great mountain walks are a thrill. A beautiful mountain lake is just up the hill from the condo which makes for a great mountain walk in both summer and winter. Our favorite moose, well you know, likes to hang out around that lake from time to time. Maybe you'll see him too! My son got engaged at that beautiful mountain setting one snowy evening. You'll love it! An incredible pristine setting!
