Smoked fish is particularly popular and is then eaten at a picnic on the Sysne Udde sandbank. Here you can enjoy a wide horizon. The walk on the sandbank is 2 km long. In the early and late season, fishermen can be seen along the coast catching sea trout. The child-friendly beach is 400 m away. In summer you can also buy something to eat there. The village is a popular destination for locals, who come to lie down in the dunes when the wind blows, or to go windsurfing or kitesurfing. Next to Östergarn Church there is a sports field with fitness equipment, a tennis court and a nice fitness trail 5 km from the house. On the east side of Gotland, nature is fascinating, barren and rich in species. There are also several artisans with open studios.
