Looking for private elegant Breckenridge Colorado lodging for four? You'll find it at the Sautter Guest Cottage.

How often do you see snow-covered mountains from your breakfast table? Or, relax before the fire after an exhilarating day of Breckenridge, Colorado, skiing, skating, snowboarding or sightseeing? It's your choice at the private Sautter Guest Cottage, a charming modern Victorian home constructed in 1990 in the Breckenridge, Colorado, Historic District.

Your private cozy 900 square-foot guest cottage offers 1 bedroom and two full baths and is furnished with elegant linens and some antiques. It's located on the ground floor and is completely private, exceptionally quiet - a perfect honeymoon spot. There's a separate entrance with parking available. But you won't need your car...you can walk to restaurants and shops, or take the free transportation just down the street to the Breckenridge ski lifts, the gondola, or anywhere else in the county you want to go. And if you have youngsters with you (of any age) there is a wonderful sleighriding hill (Carter Park)right down the street, and we have sleds, etc. for your use.

And in the summer music fills the air! There's the Jazz Festival, Summer Festival of Music at the RiverWalk Center, and the Film Festival. And don't forget the 4th of July Parade, the Art Shows, Farmer's Markets...there's always something to do in Breckenridge.

About Marie Sautter

Hi, I'm Marie. I was born in New York and met my husband at an advertising agency on Madison Ave. Business later took us to Houston where we lived for 20 years and then finally to Breckenridge where we had dreamed of living. While in Houston, I had my own catering business and raised our 2 children amidst high school football in Texas! I was happily married for many years and now enjoy the lifestyle that my late husband and I planned for so long. My nine (!!) grandchildren keep me very busy going to even more football games including the Air Force Academy Falcon games (my husband was a veteran)and visiting our son and family in Ft. Lauderdale. I really enjoy entertaining at my home and revisiting my love of good food and wine.

Marie Sautter purchased this cottage in 1990

Why Marie Sautter chose Historic District

When my late husband retired we could have chosen to live anywhere we wished. We chose Breckenridge for its beauty, activities - winter and summer, and as a place where our family and friends would want to visit. To find a home with an attached guest house was more than we could have hoped for. As family members moved further away we realized how much the guest cottage was enjoyed by friends and we were asked to consider renting it to others for vacations.

What makes this cottage unique

I love living in the quaint historic district of Breckenridge . The cottage home is attached to our larger 3-bedroom home but faces High Street with its own porch entrance and private parking. The cottage is located on the corner of Lincoln Ave and High St among other charming historic homes and is only a short 5 minute walk to Main Street. The nearness to downtown makes it extremely convenient to visit and enjoy the highlights of Breckenridge such as our Arts District, Historic Churches, the Concerts at the Riverwalk Center, Breckenridge's most famous restaurants, the Backstage Theatre, Speakeasy Theatre, Museums and other attractions. Being able to walk anywhere you want to go is a great convenience. The views from this section of town are breathtaking. Enjoy a picnic in the historic park right next door and take in the ever-changing beauty of the mountains.

Beautiful guest house in a perfect location

  • 5 of 5

Marie's guest house was absolutely perfect! I loved every minute and every day of my stay. First, the guest house is a small HOUSE, not a ski condo like so many properties in Breck, so I felt like I was living in Breck, not just visiting. The house is in the historic section of town, just a few blocks from downtown, as well as the library (very nice), movie theatre, laundromat, churches, free town shuttles (to the ski gondola as well as other places around town), dog park, and sledding hill. I lived in the house for 3 weeks without ever needing a car, since everything was so convenient. However, if you do have a car, there is a spot right in front of the house for parking. Second, Marie is a fabulous hostess and is extremely kind and accommodating. Marie has furnished the house with a lovely traditional decor that makes the home feel cozy and comfortable in the best of ways. I loved sitting in front of the fireplace, while at the same time being able to see the mountain and ski runs. The bathrooms were extremely spacious and the kitchen was fully stocked, enabling me to make most of my meals at home. The four-poster queen bed was very comfortable and fitted with beautiful linens, making it very difficult to want to get out of bed in the morning:) I can't thank Marie enough for sharing her guest house with me and other people who are fortunate enough to find it on VRBO. Thank you, Marie!

Lovely VRBO conveniently located in the heart of Breckenridge, CO

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I were fortunate enough to stay in this lovely VRBO. We enjoyed our stay and were there for a beautiful snow fall. The owner was shoveling our walk way in the morning for us after all the snow fall...service with a smile. We HIGHLY recommend this location and home. The kitchen had everything we needed to enjoy home cooked meals while on vacation. Furniture is remarkably comfortable and we LOVED the fireplace. Thank you Marie Sautter for sharing this as a VRBO. We will be back.

Perfect!! Would definitely stay again!

  • 5 of 5

This guest cottage is in a perfect location, in town. You can walk to shops, restaurants, Carter Park (playground and sledding hill), or the free bus (one stop away from the gondola). The cottage is very clean and well supplied with towels, extra sheets/linens, dishes, etc. Our 18 year old who slept on the pull out sofa said it was very comfortable. The bed in the master bedroom was also very comfortable. We loved that there were 2 full bathrooms! We didn't have to share with the teenager! :-)

The entryway is great for kicking off shoes/boots, so as not to track snow through the house.

The kitchen is well stocked with dishes and general staples (coffee, sugar, etc). The only negative, is that the pots and pans could use an update...non-stick pan was peeling and I'm a little funny about that. (Not taking off a star for that). Check in/check out was easy. We all really loved staying here and will definitely book again if we have 4 or less people.

A lovely and comfortable cottage with every thinkable amenity. A super quiet and upscale neighborhood, yet just a few easy walking blocks from Main Street restaurants and shopping. We would stay here again.
